He was speeding like crazy too. I remember after listening to it a few more times, I knew this song was a message. Then months later I'm sitting in class and my bud Pat at the time was like "hey you hear about 2pac?" I think it was actually our last week too before summer break. That summer I remember buying a bunch of 2pac stuff at hot topic lol. I still have a framed poster, a few tshirts, and of course most of his cds. I think I don't own 2 records of his, but the other 8 or 9 whatever I have

Yeah. Pac was basically asking for combat in this song. Snoop and the rest of his homies should’ve told him naw nigga chill. You just got out of jail, are you trying to get back in jail. If he went back, it would’ve taken longer for him to put out more work. After getting shot, it would’ve been an intelligent idea to not suck yourself into any complicated situations, and making a brutal diss track is one of them. Pac was brave to say what he wanted, like he did on this track, but the intensity level of when he decided to drop it was at an all time high.

@@peabody66 no not really. 'who shot ya' was written before pac getting shot but diddy insisted on releasing it while pac was in prison because it gives off a 'message', more like implied message. it was just diddy playing around trying to profit off the buzz. i personally don't think pac was overreacting because pac knew for sure someone in the studio set him up that night (junior mafia) and pac openly accused biggie and diddy of knowing about the shooting beforehand. pac was already thinking biggie played a part in the whole thing and then biggie goes and released the track 'who shot ya' which made pac think that biggie did shoot him and is not rubbing it in his face. so i really don't think pac was overreacting because he did strongly believe biggie was responsible

Well... it was reinvented to some extent, only because of his attitude. People like Ice T and Public Enemy were much more “reinventors“ of hip hop, in terms of aggressiveness, which influenced Tupac and every other good rapper after that. Nowadays we have faggot spoiled emo kids mumbling and being related to rap...Autotuned muthafuckin faggots. Nevertheless... going back to this song, in terms of famous songs, it is the best diss track ever. On the other hand it is the type of thing that may get you killed. And got shot 5 times and still survived. Ok, i give him that. Everything else was just angry threats at all the other members. Jayz “Takeover” was a better diss song imo.

This had nothing to do with that. Not this track man. This had to do with bitchmade people setting Pac up because they knew they could never reach his level. They knew he would never be compared to period. They killed him and he still can't be touched in the rap game, as well as so much wisdom he shared aside from this angry track. Pac shared so much positive emotion as well. He just didn't have one side of himself. He revealed all he was to the world. Society don't let those kind live a whole life.
