I'm not sure why people "hate" on Nickelback so much. They are a very tight band. I started to seriously get into music in the 80's, and we had some great music back then. One of the first albums I owned (Christmas gift) was a Hall and Oates greatest hits album. Sure...some people may laugh at that, but I loved that album. Those two guys are amazing! I own Nickelback albums as well as Creed albums. I know both bands get a lot of "hate," but it's usually from non-musicians. Most musicians I know have respect for both bands.
I've heard it mainly came down to overexposure, at least for Canada. Canadian radio has to play a certain amount of canadian music, and for a long while Nickelback was basically the only major canadian rock band active, so their music got played way too much on radio and people got sick of hearing it.
I agree. They are a very tight in the pocket band. Let also add. Im from Dallas Tx. You would see them in Vinnie Pauls strip club every time they were in town hanging out with Vinnie and Dime when they were alive. So if they liked Nickelback that should tell you something.

I could say they were kind of like the McDonalds of rock for a few years. It got a bit old...like a formula. But then, look at ACDC. They have made the same album 50 times and nobody hates on them. Maybe just overplayed. Remember Hootie?
