Hi Marcus, I got here after watching the video "The FBI's Hunt to Destroy a Hero Hacker" on Crumb. Apparently I am someone of "coloured background", though an engineer by professional who currently resides and is building a nuclear powerstation in South-West England; I just want to say I am incredibly proud of you! I admire how you have fought hard to take control of your life during your teenage years and always had a concious to do the right thing. I pray you continue prospering.
Hey marcus coming here from crumb's video. Thank you for being awesome and hope you have wonderful and bright future. I am not in the hacking world but it makes me happy knowing that there are good people with good conscience in that world. Sending love from the middle east :D
here from crumb , and man coming from someone who has unfortunately been to prison and has changed there life around your story had me intrigued ! soo glad you got through all of this and came out relatively unscaved . keep up the good work man
I am 38 years old, and I´ve been on the net, well, since AOL was what was thought of as the net. Hearing your story, I teared. It hit close. I find myself lucky I lack your dedication and level of intellect. I would love to know how good of a job Green Code did telling your story and thank you for living the life that made this story possible. There are many stories out there and each are unique. Plenty of good people who lived and felt compelled to live the way we did. I am so glad to find your channel and am very exited to learn about the fun things you are doing with tinkering. I live this on a daily as my wife is apart of amazon vine and I find myself with so many things to mess around with. Haha. Thanks man!
Lol I remember the birth of the "net"... Dial up bbs that took sooo long to download anything... All you could do is just leave messages ... Lol. Good times.. 😂
Just watched your story on @Crumb channel about Wannacry. Thank you for what you did and I am sorry that you had to go through all of that with the FBI. I wish you many happy years and clean waves. While I am not into hacking, I am an amateur radio operator interested in electronics and learning more about how they work, so I am subscribing.
I have found the rules regarding this bit of spectrum. 47 CFR § 15.231 Seems as though you are permitted to play Rick Ashly over it under subsection (e) rules which are roughly 1/10th the transmission power allowed under nominal rules denoted in section (a), however you can only play it for a maximum of one second and then you have to be silent for 30 seconds.
The history behind this guy and many other hackers is incredible and I think its so fascinating. Good on you Marcus for turning your life around and being a admirable white hat hacker.
Hi Marcus, I'm here from Crumb like most and I just wish to say I am so proud of you for the progress you have made. It's not easy forgiving yourself, especially when you kept those thoughts in hiding for such a long time with no one to soften the load. You're doing amazing, keep it up!
I was planning to do this to replace my apartment's opener so I wouldn't get hit with that fee either. Ended up abandoning it due to time, and thankfully so from the looks of it, especially because they didn't charge me for losing mine when I left. Thanks for sharing, this is great!
I'm a self-taught young dev who landed his first job 2 weeks ago and would love to grow in the cybersecurity and hardware programming directions, so would love to see more of such content here! :3
Hello Hero! I am glad you succeeded in your previous court case Marcus. The judge was right -- we'll need protectors like you to protect us in this digital age. I know it wasn't easy, but good work, and good luck to you!
I learned about your story and just wanted to thank you for all the work you've done. I had those panic attacks and they are the worst thing. I'm glad you made it through. I'm always afraid someone will steal my identity or whatever. Also, another way to see traces on the back of the circuit board is by holding a light behind it. Not as much flipping lol..
Just watched a documentary style video on you and came to your channel, your such a well spoken man. I hope everything is okay with you, Merry Christmas.
Keep up the good work. A small company that is in the family got WC virus. Thank you for your work, and congrats on your win in court. Its not much but you have my gratitude, and respect. I always wanted to do what you do now, but my ADHD brain just cant flow properly with coding and i've always been terrible at it. You are this old man's hero, I was well into my computer career before you were ever born and honestly you have done more than i could have even if you dont include your accidental discovery of the WC killswitch. Keep up the good work, Much love to you, and your family. Ride a wave for me brother. you earned every moment of it.
hi man I just finished watching your entire story on a UA-cam channel called "Code Green" I watch a lot of UA-cam videos about the internet and cybersecurity , and I can't wait to see you and ' John Hammond and ' David Bumble' having a good talk about different topics, keep posting on you UA-cam , and good luck
Just heard about your story, just wanted to say Thank You for all you have done. I am simply a teenage girl that is AMAZED by how talented and smart you are. You saved the FBI single handedly and helped millions. Don’t ever doubt yourself, even if it’s little. You are amazing and I genuinely see how much of an amazing person you are. I hope you have been doing well.
Your story is the stuff of legend and I think we're all just honored that you're here with us that you're making awesome content and that you're living life freely and everyone just loves you. ❤
go to see you changed your life around, im here from crumb. you're very inspiring and i've been interested in computers and programming and such since i was young too.
Here from Crumb - Subscribed. You have such a calming voice. I hope to see more tips on how to use the HackRF One! Got one a while back but haven't done much with it yet.
Howdy Mr. Hutchins, zipping through UA-cam came across your story from crumb ... Loved your story ... Reminds me of Kevin Mitnik. And his curiosity about hacking. Looking forward to seeing your content. 😁👍
Here from Crumb, thought I’d ask an impossible question that I never got an answer to in 10 years of gaming: Are framerate stutters normal? I get them a little bit but when I talk to some people they say they can play games stutter free, idk if its just me or if they just dont notice stutters.
Loved this line, ""Now I know these don't cost a hundred dollars to produce because they're about five dollars worth of technology. So like most sensible people, I told them 'I'm not gonna spend a hundred dollars; what I am gonna do is spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of my time finding a workaround.'" And yeah, I also came here from Crumb.
Hey man pretty sure you must’ve seen all these comments saying “came here from crumb” and I am another one, and from what I understood you felt guilty when called a hero, but I want to tell you that you have saved many lives, and I’m sure you know but I NEEDED to say it lol
Marcus, just now came from Crumb's video and all I can say is wow, when you were a child reminds me of myself in a way, I was always intrigued with coding. I already made a few small games on scratch, you probably heard of it. And I just wanted to know, was coding as a hacker and ani-hacker gets easier or harder because you learn more ways to code in different ways. When I get older I want to make a successful game or a popular game for a bit of time.
Solid breakdown! I like the length and amount of data dropped concisely and just enough for me to totally absorb before being overwhelmed, short in time but I learned at max speed i would take a guess at. Btw thanks for saving the world few years back, fluke or not, you get the win. I am so sorry and relate to the fact our governments are more % negative actors than for good at this point in time where the world suffers a catastrophic low of integrity you show that you never lost yours never forget you inspire people everyday reading your story. Peace.
Is that a Pikit2 or Pikit3? Most of the features are the same between. I know the 4 and 5s changed to a silver and black case so it must be a 2 or 3. Just curious.
The reason the LEDs 'seem' wired wrong, is bc if there is a short, you can still open your car door as it should be emitting an unlock signal. At least, that's how it makes sense in my head.
Weird question: can someone explain why the bit with progarming Rick Astley onto the chip, to be able to listen to it on a radio, would be illegal? Cheers
Here from Crumb lol.. sure you’ll see more people soon
same. love channels like this one. youtube should start promoting smaller channels like this in tech sections, would really make for good content!
