Didn’t he get free accomodation in exchange for doing short sponsor posts? That’s kinda huge, rent/mortgage takes up the biggest chunk of the average person’s income. It’s a huge leg up, especially if you are trying to make it in a creative career where there isn’t a steady income, to not have to worry about that. And to live in a house as nice as that? He might not have been making money but he was saving a huge amount of the money he was making. It’s a bit out of touch to think that having your housing taken care of means you made zero money.
Like, no hate to the guy, if he felt unsupported that’s totally valid and he doesn’t need to be forever grateful to someone for doing a business deal with him. He didn’t even bring up making zero money. I just don’t think looking at it like he made no money and got no benefit that doesn’t take into account what the average person’s life is like.
