That Megamind vs the Doom Syndakit film is just a pilot episode for the crappy Megamind Rules TV series. It got accidentally advertised too much like a movie, so many people have been mistaking it to be one. I haven't watched Moana 2 because I wasn't convinced that it would be worth watching and me having more hype for Sonic 3 than any of the other movies that are 2024 release ones. I watched Despicable Me 4 in a theater this year with my parents and enjoyed doing that and Sonic 3 is the only one of the movies that haven't been released yet that I want to see on the big screen this year.

Making a TV show into the feature film is not the first time that Disney has done this they’ve done it with two animated movies, such as Atlantis 2 Milo‘s return and Bell’s magical world they were originally supposed to be TV shows, but then they were made into direct to DVD movies so Moana 2 it’s not the first hopefully that’s the last
Kung Fu Panda 4 also felt like a streaming movie with a bigger budget. I’d love a versus video between it and Moana 2 and see which is the worser sequel. Both don’t justify their existence and add nothing of value to enhance their franchises.

Hey Eric, What are your thoughts on The Rescuers down Under (1990) Personally it’s the only decent theatrically released Disney animated sequel - excluding the Pixar sequels.
That Tarzan and Jane movie/TV series wasn't the only other animated Tarzan film because Disney made another movie that truly has Tarzan 2 as the logo of it but is more of a mid-quel because of how it looks like it takes place during that "Son of Man" song from the first Tarzan movie due to the titular character still being in his childhood in that hilarious direct-to-video movie.

She wasn’t a villain. She was a twist “misunderstood” character which is just tiring. The marketing lied to audiences. I question why audiences are so blindly accepting of mediocre garbage.
@ I’m pretty sure 99% people were convinced she was a villain and were disappointed that she wasn’t. Disney are against giving real villains and when they do they only allow male villains because women can’t be villains in 2024 because THE MESSAGE.
I fear that the same result will be achieved with Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, which was also made for Disney+ as season 4 of The Mandalorian.
I'm guessing they were expecting to have snow white be the holiday movie, but given it's colorful production they kicked out of to a weak 1st q 2025 and hoped it only loses a few 100 million.
Does anyone know if the series release team was left in charge of making it into a movie? If so, that would be so unfair! Shows and movies are made so differently!
Given that it's just about to pass $400 million worldwide, I doubt Disney care much what people think of it... seems they'll still go watch it regardless 🤷🏻♂️
@EricCarter12 I do agree with you about this video this Movie was doomed from the start and that was disney's way of cashing out another Sequel And the worst part is that that was just disney's way of being greedy. I have not seen the movie but do. But disney has one more movie left and that Is mufasa Which? For what I have known from the early box office projections that sonic the hedgehog three could have a higher chance of outbeating mufasa But we will find out when it gets closer to the big release date of those two movies. I appreciate all the hard work that you put in your videos.Eric keep up the excellent work.👍👍
I was never really planning on watching Moana 2 as I thought the first film didn’t need a sequel. (Though that hasn’t stopped Disney in the past) I even felt less compelled to see it when I heard the film was intended as a straight to streaming tv show, but Disney changed it to be a theatrical movie. If you watched the film and enjoyed it, then good for you I’m glad you liked it. As for me I’m saving my for Sonic 3, gosh I’m so excited!😆
Could I get a video that shows Disney fans giving honest opinions instead of what critics are thinking. Moana 2 can't really suck, or in this case, be worse than Strange World, Wish, or Ralph Breaks the Internet, like how I don't necessarily understand why they also think Raya and the Last Dragon was a disappointment, especially since Hollywood just makes things worse with those live action remakes. I get that it hasn't been easy for Disney to come up with something successful due to what's going on with the modern-day movies for whatever how long, yet this is what happens when bad writing/directing, cash grabbers, or even unnecessary storylines and characters get involved.
I dont like kids movies, or disney movies. At all. However, I love the original and it has a special place in my heart as my daughter loved it to and we watched it many times. We loved it so much we got the soundtrack for road trips. Moana 2 reminded me why I don't like kids movies.
The songs were NOT good. Nothing memorable. In the first one, you came out of the theater singing. With this one, you don't remember any song. The storyline of the movie was okay. The kids enjoyed it. I thought her parents were completely overlooked, like it was all about Moana and her connection with her little sister and her dead grandmother, and mom and dad were just in the background.
no matter how many bad reviews people give it the movie still be a hit.. may white kids will not watch it but there are other kids and people of different backgrounds who will
Moana 2 was mediocre at best, it felt very rushed and the stakes weren’t high enough in my opinion. Most of the songs weren’t great (I only liked Beyond and Get Lost) and the film was very unsatisfying. The visuals were great, but this movie as a whole felt lazy and unfinished, which makes sense because it was originally supposed to be a show

Yes I definitely am! I'm writing the video right now! Took a break to do a live stream. Drop by the stream and say hi! 😄
Paramount doesn’t own Dreamworks, Universal does.
It a Dispoint Moana 2 wost Disney sequel 😢😮
But what about Moana 2's main villain, Matungi? What did you think of her? Was she as bad as how the 2nd Moana movie was or was she something you just misunderstood?
She wasn’t a villain. She was a twist “misunderstood” character which is just tiring. The marketing lied to audiences. I question why audiences are so blindly accepting of mediocre garbage.
Marketing didn’t lie I never thought she was gonna be a villain when watching the trailers and I found others on internet with the same opinion as me
You guys are just upset that’s your head canon didn’t come true and blame Disney
@ I’m pretty sure 99% people were convinced she was a villain and were disappointed that she wasn’t. Disney are against giving real villains and when they do they only allow male villains because women can’t be villains in 2024 because THE MESSAGE.
@ you are a Disney shill you consumes mindless product and gets excited for next product. You don’t care about quality.
I fear that the same result will be achieved with Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, which was also made for Disney+ as season 4 of The Mandalorian.
Damn, too bad I didn’t watch it.
we are getting Moana Disney live action movie
I wouldn't be surprised if Disney announced Moana 2 in live action
@justinperry2520 yep
yeah why are they doing Moana before Frozen?
@andrewpremacio4936 i don't know
Imagine, the Empire/Disney created the second Death Star that outwits the Rebellion/Paramount/Dreamworks
Moana should’ve been a one off thing
I mean, most Pixar and Disney movies are mostly better off as one off I mean, who really wanted a finding Dory movie?
@@aurangzebkhan2185 Are you forgetting about toy story 2 & 3 and inside out 2, most people agree those are great sequels
I thought it added to the plot nicely, when I saw it in theatres it was really good.
@@daddydwavedHe said “most” not meaning all of them
@@thestopmotionhorrorchannel2042 Oh yeah right.
Given that it's just about to pass $400 million worldwide, I doubt Disney care much what people think of it... seems they'll still go watch it regardless 🤷🏻♂️
Eric you meant to say peacock not Paramount plus.
I know. I put text on screen correcting that. 😜
I appreciate all the hard work that you put in your videos.Eric keep up the excellent work.👍👍
Disneys 2023 failures are what happens when you go woke
I was never really planning on watching Moana 2 as I thought the first film didn’t need a sequel. (Though that hasn’t stopped Disney in the past) I even felt less compelled to see it when I heard the film was intended as a straight to streaming tv show, but Disney changed it to be a theatrical movie.
If you watched the film and enjoyed it, then good for you I’m glad you liked it. As for me I’m saving my for Sonic 3, gosh I’m so excited!😆
It’s the Disney direct to dvd sequels all over again.
people are moaning but in india they liked it.. not as good as the first.. it was just good.. not great
Story was midiocre, songs were forgetable, side characters are not well stablished and the villian is underwhelming
I agree it does suck, but it does show amazing Pacific/Islander representation.
So bassically like diddy? They had to scramble and scrape
I knew this wasn’t going to be good because Disney sucks at making sequels
Hopefully Zootopia 2 proves to be a diamond in the rough.
@ let’s hope
Best sequel from disney is Godfather Part II
Lol
@ what about planes fire and rescue
no matter how many bad reviews people give it the movie still be a hit.. may white kids will not watch it but there are other kids and people of different backgrounds who will
Moana 2 was mediocre at best, it felt very rushed and the stakes weren’t high enough in my opinion. Most of the songs weren’t great (I only liked Beyond and Get Lost) and the film was very unsatisfying. The visuals were great, but this movie as a whole felt lazy and unfinished, which makes sense because it was originally supposed to be a show
I don't know how I feel about this
What times the stream
It will be in the next 6 hours. I will announce it later and then you'll know exactly what time. ;)
Thanks.
Sequelitis Is it contagious disease 🤒
I didn't like the first film so I doubt that I'd like the second.
I saw Moana 2 in theatres and it honestly was REALLY good. I loved it so much, I thought the plot was pretty good and the soundtrack was good.
They need the money. 😅
I liked the movie...
I like Moana 2
let's just hope zootopia 2 succeed where moana 2 has failed
Come on! The movie CANNOT be that bad. It's a kid's movie for Christ's sake.
Kids movies can be bad. Emoji movie, Food Fight, a lot of Disney direct to video sequels,
@@ParkerCS2 You think this movie is worse than Food Fight?
@ no. I’m saying kids movies can be bad. You said a kids movie can’t possibly be bad so I gave examples of bad children’s movies.
Kids movies are like any other genre. They all have there share of good and bad movies.
