That seems to be the common opinion many people have, but the formula BASS put into place for the Legend Exemption is the formula they use-it was written by them. An angler's age isn't part of the formula-their success is. Lee just became a "Legend Before His Time", but BASS wants and needs their former champions to be in their tournaments, so they don't have as many names that no one has heard of due to the exodus of the big names to the MLF league. BASS needed the competition to check them and their monopoly tactics. Competition is never bad.
I really like your Bass Babble episodes. I liked the MLF in the early years, every bass counts not best 5 fish. Catch and release , it wasn't a tour just a special event with a field of 30 anglers. Now I like Bassmaster for the best of 5 fish. That's makes both MLF and Bassmaster Elite different circuits , which is cool! Now MLF is trying to be Bassmaster. Anyhow Spectrum put Outdoor Channel as a sports premium ugh. There went most of my favorite fishing shows. Atleast Bassmaster Elite is on regular cable. They need to put the Golf Channel on a premium not Outdoor channel! Lol😂
Well, good news for you then. MLF screwed up last year, and they realized it big time. They have announced that they are going back to every fish counts next year. I do agree that Jordan should have been made re-qualify for the Elite Series. Bobby had to do it last year. He didn't make it, but they made him re-qualify. Why didn't they give this offer to Bobby first instead of Jordan ? I wonder if that pissed Bobby off ? I know he is coming back to MLF this year.
I agree he should have to earn his way back. He chose to leave like the rest of them. I don’t think he should be just let right back in. There are a lot of guys like Jacob Foutz out there that have nothing trying to make it. Jordan is pretty much set with sponsors and social media. I just don’t like that legends exemption rule Applying to guys who are already out there making a living fishing.
