Cute - what was interesting to me was when you commented about feeling a bit shy around so many people.
I was just visiting your second cousins in Colorado and had brought our DJI camera with me.
You did a good job. And it was fun watching you meandering through the orchard and spilling coffee on yourselves. 🤣
I'm not a content creator like you guys, but I noticed that people got weird when I filmed anywhere where others were around. I was glad, though, to have filmed the segment about my in-law's motel below Evergreen that we were supposed to inherit. One of the people I talked to, the Chocolate maker, was both gregarious and interesting. Yet, at the end of my clip, another person owning a small framing shop, which had also once been a part of our old motel, refused me to video. No problem, I said, but I did feel a bit awkward after the encounter. And it was also disappointing. For me this was family history, and I don't make it to Colorado very often anymore.
What I've noticed about filming like this is that you have to have both courage mingled with a bit of sensitivity and respect for others around you...especially children. I ended up putting my camera away after the encounter with the frame shop owner, except for mounting it on the car windshield when we were driving through Wolf Creek Pass to visit your other second cousin, my youngest son whose birthday it was. And the leaves were all changing. It was all so stunningly beautiful
BTW, do you want a pumpkin pie recipe? I just made one, which is a bit difficult in the Netherlands because of not having all the ingredients. I had to boil the pumpkin flesh because there aren't any canned pumpkins in our local grocery stores. I also wanted to make a Graham cracker crust. And I ended up chopping up spiced cookies. Ordering these things online is also too expensive.
Anyway, I'm always happy to see one of your videos. You two just always put a smile on my face. Happy Sunday! 💖

@@aislingbooks that sounds like a wonderful trip! Yeah, being mindful of others that you’re sharing the space with is super important. We try to not be invasive and still make sure we can capture how wonderful a location is - which is why when things get “people-y” it’s hard. Haha!
