Thanks for the video. Very informative. I’ve gotten a mama duck nesting behind some grassy landscaping and have been watching her progress from a distance to see her progress. Hope to see her waddles of with her ducklings soon! 😃 🦆
Found a nest in my yard today after my pup was frozen staring beneath some bushes. Not knowing what was under the bush I didn't give any command and she rushed under the bush scaring the mother off. It is now about midnight and I don't think the mother has returned despite my keeping the dog away. The video gave me some comfort and I expect she will be back soon (or may be there (I didn't get too close when I looked)). Thank you for your video!
Thanks for good info. Have male and female near side of house regularly in the weeds, i'll leave that side of house alone for 6 weeks allow them to do their thing. Cheers, Grass might get long but who cares.
Have 2 nests within about 5-6 feet of each other in some mulch next to the pool. Haven’t seen any sign of a mother for a few days. Any thoughts on whether she will be back or not?
Unfortunately a duck has built her nest above a 6ft wall in some ivy. How on earth will the duckling get down onto a hard surface with a 6ft/7 ft drop ? Any ideas
We just had a nest on the back edge of our property, I would go back every few days to see if she was still there, staying far enough away that it didn't seem to bother her, went back yesterday and she was gone, thought she may be out eating so looked a little closer and saw the eggs were gone, no broken shells or anything, is that good or bad, sure did want to see those baby ducks.
My parents just had an Indian runner lay 6/7 eggs in their backyard between 2 big tall planter pots. Would it be the same idea for them like the mallards? Also if you do see this comment, any recommendations on how to keep the neighborhood fox away from them?

Maybe their wings will help them down

I don't know but that's worrying that there's no shells
Some.birds eat the shells after hatching.
@@unknownkingdom good to know thank you
