One thing I like about the song is that you can see the moment Mirabel and Isabela realize that neither of them was the cause of their strained relationship and finally allowing themselves to come together and understand each other without Abuela getting in the way. It's really subtle and you only really start to see it with Mirabel's part but it was a nice touch and I appreciated it.
I can definitely feel it after "I'm so sick of pretty, I want something true, don't You?" then it goes into Mirabel realizing she's only see the surface of Isabella with. "All I know is the blossoms you grow, but it's Awesome to see how you rise!" Then their Harmony realizing that they're still sisters & are there for each other with "How far can I rise? Through the Roof! To the Skies, Let's Gooo!!"
It's kinda funny because at first Mirabel is just trying to get that hug for the prophecy thing to fix things but as it goes on, she truly connects with Isabela (realizing that being perfect was a burden as well this whole time) and actually encourages her and supports her in the song instead of just panicking at the use of her powers, haha.
I especially love Isabela's line the way is clear and I owe it all to you because Mirabel helps her drop the facade that she's been forced to live behind for so long. It's such a wonderful line and I love how all the relationships progress in this movie.
@@connormurphy9653 Yep, and then Isabella's realization that Mirabel isn't/wouldn't be jealous in her expanding her ability, but amazed and happy for Isabella instead. That section is my favorite part of the entire movie.
Without spoiling, she wasn’t telling her to calm down, she was encouraging her. Also, glad you noticed the return of Isabella’s melody from We don’t talk about Bruno.
I wish he were reacting to the actual music video. Yes he's just reacting to the music itself, the vocals and instrumentals. But he's only getting half of what makes the music so amazing. The visuals that go with the story of the song make them an absolute special.
I'm hoping he does a second react for these songs after he watches the movie. I think he hasn't done them by that point because he hadn't watched them yet, so I hope he shows a react where he sees the graphics with the lyrics.
What I love about this song is how the beat goes along while what’s happening in the song. At the beginning she is figuring out another side of her powers and she gets more and more excited. Also when she takes a moment to think how she needs something new because she’s seen as perfect when she doesn’t want to be, as in the lyrics “I’m so sick of pretty I want something true” when they get back to the beat of excitement and discovery Meabell (sorry if I spelled that wrong) is encouraging her saying that there’s nothing you can’t do. I feel like it’s telling her she always had this power and she doesn’t need to worry because she can do. Also I like the little beat at the beginning where it goes “bring it in bring it in” I can’t help but join in :333 this is such a lovely song but also all of you is as well. Beautiful harmony and the even bring in the Bruno tune✨
@@GhostedStar oh she was but in the song she actually got to see who her sister really was and wanted to be. She got the hug for being with her and helping her see a side of herself she wish she knew earlier
The last lines are "What else can I do? There's nothing you can't do" Isabela( the main voice) is stuck being perfect but Mirabel (the second voice) shows her that she can be free
Honestly this song hit so close to home as the cousin who has the pressure to become "someone" in the family, but also as an artist that feels trapped making pretty things for others rather than anything that makes me truly happy. It's such a good song.
Lin said that for this song he was inspired by the 90s Rock Latino's movement. Of course the rythm is different from rock, but you can find similarities in the notes and structures from the genre. I specially find similarities with the music of "Poligamia", one of the most important Colombian rock bands in the 90s ua-cam.com/video/U42S4wq4zkM/v-deo.html
I very strongly recommend listening to "waiting on a miracle," Mirabel's solo from the movie. It's absolutely beautiful and very touching, it even brings me to tears. The lyrics are so stunning!!
Wow, I'm early! This is probably my favorite song in the movie! The part where they finally sync and the reassurance throughout. The fact Mirabel's part in the middle is the same rhythm as Isabella's in "We Don't Talk About Bruno" is great. Also the line "A hurricane of jacarandas" is so fun.
Please listen to ‘waiting on a miracle’ that song hits me hard every time I listen to it. Growing up in my family who were all about sports it was difficult cause all my family went to see my brothers football games but yet when I got into writing and choir… no one but my parents came. My extended family all came out to see my brother but made excuses not to show up at some choir performance, its why every time I hear the beginning ‘I’m fine I’m totally fine, I’ll stand on the side as you shine’ that gets me every time cause…so many times I’ve felt invisible. Please listen to this song, when you do you’ll understand exactly why it means so much
In the scene when Abuela Alma is asking Dolores about Marianos proposal to Isabela, ( the one singing this song )… Since Isabela’s gift is to grow plants.. Abuela thinks she must be perfect and so Isabela has only ever grown flowers.. ( hence the line “ I grow rows and rows of roses, flor de mayo by the mile ) and When Dolores mentions Mariano wants five babies flowers sprout in Isabela’s hair.. and since Abuela thinks Isabela must be perfect.. she plucked out the only white flower.. in a bunch of pink ones.. it’s subtle but its really deep .. because Isabela didn’t even know she could do more than just grow flowers.. so she wants to be more true to herself… hence the line “I’m so sick of pretty I wants something true “ which is very interesting and part of why I love Encanto :))
i absolutely love it when this happens isa: i’m so sick of pretty, you want something true, don’t both: you mirabel: just seem like your life’s been a dream since the moment you opened your eyes
Its so refreshing to see someone with the same passion for music and this soundtrack especially. I already seen Encanto 3 times in theatres and its quickly become my favorite disney movie (with the exception of tangled. nothing can top that). I cant wait until you see the movie! The visuals add so much to the songs.
You should react to “Dos Oruguitas”. Keep in mind you’ll need to search for the English lyrics since the song is in Spanish. When the scene happened I couldn’t stop crying.
I can relate to this song cuz it's not that I feel like I have to be perfect, it's that I have to do whatever I do, like working or drawing, has to perfect. Whenever I mess up, I feel like a failure
Since you've heard almost all the songs from the soundtrack, you should go listen to "All of You" which somehow manages to combine bits and pieces of The Family Madrigal, Surface Pressure, We don't talk about Bruno, What else can I do and Dos Oruguitas while still sounding like a whole new song
Ahh you keep doing songs from this movie and I love it!! So I guess ‘what else can I do’ but ask if you’d do Waiting On A Miracle? You’ve already done both of Mirabel’s sister’s songs now, but this one is the one that kind of really sets up Mirabel and shows us what is that she wants. Plus it’s one I can’t help but sing out loud to in the car when driving!!
Okay you've done "Surface Pressure" and "What else can I do". Now I know I've said this before, but you should give a listen to "Waiting on a miracle". The lyrics are beautiful, and a couple of them are just...they just hit you. Although you did say you were gonna watch the movie later this week. Either way, I think you'll really like the song. Personally, it's my favorite
Nice to hear you're gonna watch it it's absolutely amazing I couldn't find a single flaw, except for the fact that as far as I can tell, Antonio is basically the same as ezran from dragon prince. Young boy with dark skin, curly brown hair, and can talk to animals.
I also love how that opening bit kind of sets up the surprise and disorientation at suddenly having something unexpected and live changing in front of Isabella. It is so beautiful!
I would highly request reacting to either Eleanor Rigby or Underground by cody fry because not only is his cover of Eleanor Rigby vocal wise amazing, but the fact that a 80 piece orchestra is involved along with a 400 person choir just makes the song so amazing to listen to!
You should react to the Spanish versions of the songs as well, so that you notice the different tones of voices that they have in the two versions; in the Spanish version of "we don't talk about Bruno" "no se habla de Bruno" in Spanish, the voices of Camilo and Dolores, oh man; they are of another level, and 'cause we pronounce the rrr's and Camilo's singer have a beautiful scratch in his voice,.. and you will appeal the Latin community to your channel...
This song makes me feel pure joy. I love plants and the imagery with Isabella being so truly happy is wonderful. You are so incredibly music smart, you proved it once again with you talking about Pharell Williams. I love learning from you!
I wish you would watch the animation with it because they really make the piece a thousand times better. Around the end she’s using flower pigments to color her clothes and hair and making massive rainbow shows with plant spores. Plus she basically flower bombs the whole town and it’s EPIC

Lin actually said in the small featurette that he chose to use 1990s Latina/Tejano Pop as the inspiration for this song- like, if you really listen, it sounds similar in parts to some of Selena's music back when she was really, really at her peak before her death. It's a very beautiful, subtle tribute to the Queen of Tejano, and Lin blends it beautifully into this movie
I loved encanto but went in not knowing the voice actors. I got so excited when I realized it was Diane Guerrero since I fell in love with her as maritza years ago
Please, please listen to 'No room at the inn' a Christmas song by Anne Murray. It has a surprising amount of soul, and Anne Murray's voice is out of this world
I'd recommend "Eternal Encore" from Phantasy Star Online 2 (Pre-New Genesis) as it's one song that really struck a nerve with me the first time I heard it. For context, it's from the point of view of the Singer (Quna) to her adoptive brother Haddred. In the game, Haddred eventually goes wild due to corruption, and the Player Character and Quna have no choice but to fight him. After the fight, Haddred, who has never spoken a word even to Quna since he was born, asks her to sing one final song. Um, idk how well liked this show is, but I love it, and apparently ages 7 and up can watch it? Anyways, I recommend “Rider’s Lullaby” from Centaurworld and “We are Fragile Things” also from Centaurworld. I hope you love it
I know why you don't often give a final thoughts on your reactions, however it is something I always look forward to or anticipate. Just a final impression on the song as a whole, because you'll have a couple of interjections mid-song in which your provide insight or your general thoughts, and they are always so fun! And then I get sad when the video just end... (Of course this way you guarantee people watch effectively the whole video, and you still get to give your thoughts in the middle, but I just wanted to give some feedback because I've been enjoying these quite a lot ^_^)
So, I don't know if you have before but if you haven't you should react to "the magic of friendship grows" from MLP, it's one of my favorite songs and I feel like you'll like it.

You are are one of the only "react" videos I have seen that recognized the earlier melody from "We Don't Talk About Bruno" in this song. I feel like the changed ending of the musical phrase shows the growth of the character.
The thing about Encanto is it reunites lead Stephanie Beatriz with her In the Heights costars Lin-Manuel and Olga Merediz in this movie. Say, have YOU checked out the songs of In the Heights?
U should see the "She'll never know" fan made song. Im not saying u should make a video but to just take a look in your free time. It is *so good* lyric-wise. Sorry for the bad english, English is not my first language.

An anime OP you need to hear is from Angel Beats - My Soul, Your Beats!
I am physically unable to skip it, I listen to it every episode
Amazing how all the flowers mentioned are tropical plants and I believe almost all are native to Colombia.

I'm early!!! Merry Christmas everyone!
When he starts yelling at the beginning!! 😂😂
I would suggest you listen to songs from Centaurworld
I would mainly suggest Battle round, Last Lullaby 1 and 2, and Breathe in a bag
The thing about Encanto is it reunites lead Stephanie Beatriz with her In the Heights costars Lin-Manuel and Olga Merediz in this movie.
Say, have YOU checked out the songs of In the Heights?
U should see the "She'll never know" fan made song. Im not saying u should make a video but to just take a look in your free time. It is *so good* lyric-wise.
