Couple questions. I was looking at these on eBay for winding guitar pickups. They usually use AWG 42 or 43. Do you think this machine is suitable for that type of project? Also, do you think you could make a video explaining how to use this thing? I see lots of comments where people are frustrated because of the poor instructions that come with it. Thanks!
Pretty cool. Still looks like a decent amount of work. I could see be necessary if a particular transformer is not readily available. Is making your own otherwise economical? Great video.
When you sell small quantities of a PCB that requires a transformer, winding your own can save time rather than waiting the typical 6-8 weeks for delivery. We can make one hundred or more of these transformers a day which is plenty to fill our order demands. I have ordered custom transformers from suppliers in the past but now find that this machine has paid for itself very quickly.
Just working out all the issues with the show by providing some basic stuff for now. We have some great shows planned for the future once we all get comfortable on camera.
Can you use this machine to wind very small inductors, say those using RM or Pot type cores? In particular RM5 (very small) and then RM8, RM10, P2213, P2616 cores. Thank you.

Probably not used a lot, but it would be useful to have your own winder for projects

This machine is large and would likely break any kind of thin wire. In addition, the spindle is at least 6mm (1/4”) in diameter.

can you send me the instruction manual for programming? i am having hard time adjusting the lateral movement and speed.
All I got with the machine is a one page pamphlet which doesn’t help much.
