I got stuck and lived in Seattle for ten years and I have to tell you to be careful and don't make the same mistake I made. The first thing I noticed is that Seattle is a very wet city year around. Second, people are very cold, they don't make eye contact or talk to you when you say hello or good morning...very unfriendly people and a very depressed city. I also noticed a lot of people with some kind of mental and drugs problems. And by the time I move out of Seattle and back to the East Coast the city of Seattle was a very dangerous place to live.
It doesn't actually pour down with heavy rain in Seattle, but we do get some every now and then. Seattle's typical rain is light and drizzle that can last throughout the day.
That was another thing that called my attention not seeing a bunch of people fishing the shore and lakes. You are not supposed to eat the fish, it is in your own risks cos of the contamination.
I just left Seattle after living there 10 years. It was beautiful when I moved there. And although the people are weird, it was bearable. Nowadays, the people are insufferable, the traffic on 405 has sucked ever since they made the HOV lane in Bellevue. Crime is going up, things are getting trashier, even in the burbs. It’s starting to remind me of Philadelphia in the late 90s.
I escaped Seattle and will never go back. Politics there are insane and the cost of living is outrageous. Great place off your worth millions of dollars and you only go where millionaires hang out though. Seattle a dumpster fire but still, Go Dawgs! WOOF!
I don't know what he is talking about. Seattle is a very green wet city with a lot of rainy days and you are never going to listen to a frog singing. Do you wonder why? Also in most water spots such as fresh water lakes and beaches you will see a warning sign "Contaminated Water" jump on your own risks. Or " Do not fish and do not swim" The entire city of Seattle is contaminated and I'm not the one saying that. There is a documentary on PBS about Seattle and the contamination that existed for many years and why.
I lived in Capitol Hill for a couple years and I wasn't welcome in that neighborhood because I was a straight guy. Capitol Hill has the biggest gay community in Seattle, so if you're not one of them...I say gay, they will find out sooner than later.
Don't come, we hate newcomers. We hate when historic buildings are torn down to make room for cheap looking tacky apartment buildings to accommodate people who should really stay where it's warmer and drier. You will hate the dreary winters!
It always makes me laugh when people talk about the horrible dreary wet/cold months here.. Personally that's my favorite time of the year, I hate how hot our summers have gotten, so I yearn for the winter months.. Nothing beats it getting dark at 4pm, getting to stay inside most of the time, etc. It's the best!
Please don’t. Too many ppl are moving here. The schools are crowded, there’s no parking, drugs and gangs are taking over the city, the traffic is even worse than it was, and worst of all, over-development is destroying our environment. The beauty here comes from nature and it’s disappearing.
@markcorneliuslau Your entire message is based on your inability to comprehend the text, and you're telling others to shut up? You're projecting. You know you shouldn't type. She didn't say build more houses, she said we need to stop building houses because there aren't enough trees or birds.
The problem is infrastructure zoning. Please research your grievance and address it directly. Telling people not to come does not coorelate to Seattle not keeping enough nature and recreational areas.
Why you telling people to move here guy? This aint an "up and coming" city. You are unknowingly adding more people to the category of, "its possible YOU wont even make the MEDIAN INCOME to live here..." There aint no housing IN the city or neighborhoods from SEATAC all the way to Northgate. WE have MORE overpriced apartments then we do HOUSES. I listen to more people complaining everyday in my neighborhood saying they cant afford to live here and they cant live in this state. So why would you go on UA-cam, asking people from other states and to move? You aint no MAYOR! We dont NEED people here to keep Seattle going.
Based on what exactly? How long have you lived here? I've lived in many areas of in King County since 1987 and I beg to differ. Great jobs, nature, weather (if you don't mind the drizzle, which I've come to love), high education, and plenty to do. Where do you think is better?

You forgot Costco among the major employers! Consistently rated one of the best places to work. I've worked at their headquarters for 24+ years.

This is a great video.
Glad you liked it!
Don't mind the debbie-downers. Lots of great reasons to move here. Downsides are similar to other major metropolitan areas.

To make things worse after the pandemic where I lived in Seattle... everything changed drastically for the worse of the worst

In conclusion I was not able to meet people and make friends in my ten years living in Seattle.
Anyway, be careful what you wished for and the city of Seattle.
I’m still trying to figure out what neighborhood is best for me 😭

Seattle sucks. Total sausage fest. If you come already in relationship or married then it's not too bad.
Basketball courts?
No.

For real though.

Well I’m moving next week already.

Let me know when you are ready to move to a better place.
I can help you sell your home for the best price possible
@@LivingInSeattlePNW Never going to happen 😁 Seattle for life
Shut up. Just vote for people that will actually allow more housing to be built

Don’t. Please don’t.
Never.
I'm not sure what this guy is smoking or maybe he will get paid for this video but Seattle is not a good place at all.
I grew up in Seattle, there are 'plenty' of not to move there.
Please don’t move here

King county is a disaster

Ok, do you live here? I can help you sell your houses and get you moved to a more suitable location
