My father was Chief Engineer for the dam project. P.T.Malla Reddy. This dam is an integral part of my childhood. I remember that all the huge earth moving machines had English female names.

Watching this is very emotional for me. I could not stop my tears as I was watching this video, my physical body which is grown today is because of this water and soil which is the hard work and contribution of thousands of beings. Also the prosperity that I am enjoying today. My gratitude to all of them.
My Favourite Place on Earth. In my childhood in 80's, I played on this dam and powerhouse. Thank you all who spent their lives in constructing this huge dam.

A very good Documentary film presented by the films division.Though I did not work in the construction work of the Dam,I worked as a Supervisor CIVIL ENGINEER in designing and executing the mighty Right and Left Canals both Guntur,Krishna, Disricts during 1958 to 1972.Thus left in satisfaction that I too shared my services by working in NSProject works.Thanks a lot for this Documentary film.

My Grandfather worked as stone cutting contractor in this sagar project in 1965 to 1972
We ( Engineers Of N.S. Project) collected about 50 photographs captured by department photographers at various stages of construction including photograph Of laying foundation stone for construction this dam by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru In December 1955 and got them scanned and printed in A3 size and displayed in the celebrations of Golden Jubilee in the year December 2004 . Hither to,I thought that we have no video films save Ramudu Bheemudu Telugu movie.Had it been known in the year 2004,we would have screened during celebrations. We should have contacted Film Division, Central Government.we didn’t do this. I apologise for thi mistake as I was actively involved during Golden Jubilee celebrations. We all worked sincerely and with diligence in this great Project.

There was a scene of Naharjuna Sagar construction time in the movie Dr Chakravarthy. 'Manasuna Manasai' song shows the project construction site,from Riverview guest house, where the song was picturised on ANR, Savitri & Jaggayya. Once I stayed in the guest house with my family in my school days in 70s. I hope I got the guest house name correct.
1950_60 India is in uttermost pooverty but almost all great dams & multi projects constructed in whole country. Hats off to honest leaders, engineers& all laborers who were the best & honest in world then. Present leaders & people???
Nw huge budget, manpower& great engineering can't afford atleast polavaram for 20 Y. One Nehru the great superwised on helicopter all big projects & opened with his hands& said modern temples.

This is my Home Town right now I'm proud to be local this is heaven on earth my favourite spot. I'm oftenly visits here and touches Every wall and stone because my grandpa and grandma and their friends too contributed lots of sweat and blood.with their fragile hands make hard rocks into soft stone powder to construct this massive dam.my late grandpa always share his old memories with me at that perilous condition no food to eat our nation is under huge poverty during 60 and 70s they take gamagine ( rice water ) twice in a day one time food. innocent hard work of labours like my grandpa ,engineers dedication and honesty of political leader support at that time made this possible.this is the busiest place at that time like current Hyderabad. u can find it in legendry actor ntr movie ramudu and beemudu 1964 present ts politician don't care about it plz make it a tourist hub to Telangana. i request everyone visit NSP u definitely find spotless hardwork of those generation people 👍.tq film division of India for showed our tribe folk dance in film 🙏🏾

There is no commitment, sinciority & honesty in today's political parties. Many engineers, labourers have given their lives for sake of this prestigious project. Selfishness was very low in those days.
My father worked for this project. It's name sake Telangana project. Only Andhra people use most water. They build such away water will flow to Andhra. Leaving Telangana as desert. Hats off to these people.

Can't estimate the spirit of labour and the masterminds behind the screen for a good cause, incredible sacrifice, their souls remain with the Project I am nothing but a teenager boy while the Project is under progress, some memory is there, some labourers were dead due to some untoward incident in the project while they were under work
