Day Trip from Vancouver to Whistler in Summers | Whistler Village Centre | Shannon Falls, Alta Lake

We went on a day trip to Whistler from Vancouver by Road which is less than 2 hours drive. Whistler is a town situated north of Vancouver and is one of the largest Ski Resort in North America. Whistler was one of the key venue in 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. One our way to whistler we stopped at Shannon Falls and Squamish which are also must visit spots people prefer around Vancouver.
We also visited lower Joffre Lake which is about 60 KM away from whistler. Joffre lake is popular for it's turquoise color and has 3 lakes (lower, middle and upper). To view all the Joffre lakes you need to take a medium level hike which takes around 4-6 hours to complete. Please make sure to book a day pass before visiting Joffre Lake (We skipped the hike as we were not having the pass and visited the lower lake in late hours).
On our way back to Vancouver from Joffre, we stopped at Alta Lake. Alta Lake is an ideal spot for Swimming, Canoeing, Kayaking and Paddle Boarding.
We will visited Joffre Lake next time to view all the 3 lakes. Also, we will plan our visit to Whistler in winters to experience snow and skiing.
**We book our rental cars from Avis in Vancouver and our experience has been pretty good so far.
