Hi Loly. The music video part with the proposal, happy memories and wedding are all part of the script of the MV to cater to the message of the song. The actors were real life celebrity couple that broke up in 2019. Their relationship did not reach the point of getting engage. Their heart to heart talk was a formal closure for them (as shared by Joshua in an interview) that is why the words spoken doesn’t seem to match the MV. It was not scripted as the director just asked them to speak from the heart.
They were real couples but julia cheated on him with his co-star in a movie. That’s why Paubaya which means “Letting Go” or “Entrusting” to someone is a perfect song for them. Joshua was really sweet to her. She was his world, his everything. He courted her every single day and never changed. As you can see in the video , he’s so in pain. When joshua uttered “I didn’t even get to protect you” was the time that bashers were coming after julia for her rumored (but now official) 3rd party relationship with his co-star. Maybe joshua didn’t protect her cause (1) he saw that it was real it but he act like he didn’t so he can’t protect her as his heart was tearing apart, (2)he saw her happier with him and that they both rich/came from a rich family that’s why he said he began to realize they weren’t made for each other. And (3) he was afraid that he might lose her and that the bashers will also come after him thinking that it might ruin his career because he is the breadwinner of his family, unlike julia and her bf now, gerald who can still live a descents life if they won’t be actors no more. He kept quiet but he’ll surely catch a bullet for her so she won’t get hurt. But she broke him.
