    Love this idea thank you for sharing how you do it! I do want to tell you as someone who used to work with bleach on a daily basis for work...please wear gloves. It may not bother your hands now but over time it will and it's extremely unpleasant. So unpleasant that it caused me to have to quit the job I had. Nitrile gloves would be good enough. But please believe me...gloves are important with bleach.

    • @flatcreekdigital
      @flatcreekdigital  Рік тому +1

      I have never had an issue with holes, with the Gildan 6400 heather colors. The more cotton you have the more chance for holes. Bleach eats cotton. So higher poly is always better. Also, don't leave you're bleach on the shirt for too long. Just enough to achieve the look you are going for. Make sure you have plenty of uv rays and don't bleach in the shade.👍😊

    After bleaching when I put my sblimination transfer on and putting it under the heat press it turned my white a creamy color. How do I avoid that? 😔

    • @flatcreekdigital
      @flatcreekdigital  Рік тому +1

      Sounds like you had some scorching, just spray with peroxide and hover heat press over it until gone. Do not touch the shirt just hover. If that doesn't work spray with peroxide and throw it in the dryer for 20 minutes or so. Always wash your shirts really well before pressing to get out all the bleach and dry completely before pressing as well. I do 385F for 60sec light to medium pressure. ❤️

    Did you wash after the first bleaching or just spray with peroxide to stop the bleaching process before continuing on to your second bleaching session?

    • @flatcreekdigital
      @flatcreekdigital  Рік тому +1

      I don't wash until all the bleaching is done. Also, no peroxide until you are done with the bleaching process in step 2...So bleach then let turn white, then bleach the second time to get the brown color then spray with peroxide to stop the bleaching process once you are done with your spots. Then soak with your water hose and throw in the wash. 👍 Hope that helps!!🥰

Make sure you are using 100% bleach and Clorox is the best do not use the splash less kind. UV needs to be at least 4 and up . Sometimes you just need to let it sit for a bit as well. Once you bleach and go in with the brush to get it white for your image, does it tend to make your shirt thin? I'm having a hard time with my shirts becoming too thin

    • @flatcreekdigital
      @flatcreekdigital  2 роки тому +2

      No, so far with the Gildan brand I haven't had that issue. I do know some that use the Bella Canvas brand have had that issue. I have never used that brand. You may also be leaving the bleach on too long. Once the shirts turn the white I like, I always spray with peroxide to stop the bleaching process. The most I have ever had to leave the bleach on is maybe 45mins max, for my darker color shirts. I have heard the more cotton in the shirt it will tend to eat the fabric more. Hope that helps! 😊

    • @kimgerlach-stosboutique
      @kimgerlach-stosboutique 2 роки тому +1

      Less is more when it comes to bleach. The higher cotton rate the more you have issues with thinning. Bleach eats the cotton only. Use shirts with less cotton if you are having issues with thinning. Maybe try finding a fabric course on Fiverr or something - the more fabric knowledge the better you can understand bleaching processes. The problems occur after each wash too. You can also mix the bleach with water if you are heavy handed.
