Remember that in the pure-looking in between, there is a wither rose in the flower pots. In the other side, there’s a much healthier flower in an otherwise more withered setting. I think this is meant to symbolize the Yin and Yang symbol. There is a dot of white in the black side, and vice versa for the symbol, a little good in every evil. And a little evil in every good. Perhaps that has something to do with the truth of the In Between/Other Side.

You say that the Other Side is controlled by the egg but I think that it might be the other way around. The egg is controlled by the other side. There are eggs in each timeline that act as scouts for the Other Side.

Honestly I kinda think the lands are cursed, that when you step foot on it, you just forget about your past. I mean, have you seen that one video where Foolish actually had some relation to Eret, and Foolish brought up something they did together in the past, but Eret doesn't remember it....

this is how the dreamsmp could be connected to this whole story. hear me out!
the people who control the in-between were searching for an alternative way to time travel and created the egg. they thought it had entirely failed and it was lost in time, buried.
members of the dreamsmp then uncovered the egg and it began to grow, with people like bbh and skeppy siding with it.
the in-between is concerned by this and approaches dream, offering him a bargain. Dream is to destroy the egg, and in return Dream will be given a portion of the in-between's power once the egg is gone.
maybe dream will fail, the egg will grow, and spread to all different timelines, and that's why we see it in all of the tales from the smp.

Anyone forgetting DreamXD?
I'm actually still convinced Ranboo has a part into this, (black and white although that's probably not important)and the color symbolism with Ghostbur didn't have a clear explanation. Itt still doesn't just match up for me. Most importantly, I'm also convinced the flowers (wither rose for the Inbetween, pink flower for the Other Side) have some meaning.
Well- since this comment is "gaining attraction" I may as well add: Ranboo clearly has some connection to Karl/time traveling/the Inbetween and Other Side. We see this with how Ran keeps staring at Karl, Ranbutler likes clocks (karl's symbol) and how ranboo's arg post on twitter seems to hint at clocks and time itself a lot. and has karl's logo on one of the things. huh

@@BetterNicholas Wait that could mean that maybe ranboo was/is a time traveler but the inbetween made him lose all of his memories, but instead of dying or becoming a “clone” he survived (Maybe because he is half enderman and not fully human) and in the lost city of mizu the evil person was like a future mix of dream and ranboo....
I just came up with this theory Basically Ranboo was a time traveler who was full Enderman Who went to the inbeetween he winded up escaping out his power was partially drained and his memories gone he escaped to the main dream smp Were he would be left memory less The black part of Ranboo is the Part that we see from the perspective of He experiences his Enderwalks which are when the part him that’s power has been drained or the white part Takes control He walks around aimlessly like the Karl’s lost in the inbetween and is easily manipulated what’s to say the Karl’s lost in the inbetween aren’t also easily manipulated both and that’s it
there's alot of people here talking about purpled but just remember purpled isn't a very big character in the lore and his purple color scheme probably had nothing to do with time travel.

I think I started that. My point wasn’t about Purpled being part of the lore, it was more about Purpled having represented the color purple long before Karl did.
And before you say that doesn’t have anything to do with lore, I will say that the lore was created by the members of the Dream SMP. If they wanted a color the represent Karl/time travel, they could have picked a different color. Maybe Purpled is connected to time travel, maybe he isn’t. Only time will tell.

Honestly, I think the person writing the books is some version of Karl, like maybe this Karl is either writing down these books as he continues to lose more and more of his memories preserving them and just forgetting about their existence, leaving them where our Karl is finding them or this other Karl (or it could be more than one idk time is a messy thing) is trying to lead our Karl to break the cycle of aimlessly wandering around the Inbetween and losing memories.
Or or just a theory the person who is sending the books to karl is timetraveling tommy just think about it it would be sick because idrk

I didnt even consider the egg but the evidence you have gathered has convinced me! This is the tying together of storylines we are waiting for! I am so excited for it!
I just thought of something that really supports apart if this awesome theory: Ghostbur said that the it's "blue" wasn't always blue. But that when he passes it on to sad people it *sucks the blue out of them* (aka sadness)
It calms them or makes them happy.
And on the other side of the spectrum you have the crimson egg. That *sucks the red out of things and people* and makes them upset or in tubbo's case sad. They directly parallel each other to. This theory is actually so cool and it makes me so happy that karl is honestly carrying the smp lore wise. Also i would like to add onto this theory with a bit that pretty much wasn't cannon but could be become cannon or just be a head cannon. *The Dreamon hunters* Dream is a god like entity on the server that is known for his smiley face. And the in between is a mysterious omnipotent being that overlooks a place beyond the concept of time that is also known for using smiley faces. Super natural god like forces that are known for using smiley faces and are directly connected to the egg in some way? *sounds like a dreamon to me* My theory is that when dreamons aka beings from the in between started to surface in the present, the egg felt threatened and when fundy misleadingly told bad to make a dreamon hunter base the egg tried mind controlling bad and that's why he kept digging out the room for so long despite Fundy telling him they didn't need it anymore. Which obviously leads to bad finding the egg and the rest is history. In conclusion i think that dreamons are entities from alternate dimensions like the in between and the other side that thrive off of knowledge like you proposed. And maybe dreamons appearing in the main timeline's present day is proof that a karl or hell maybe another traveler provided the in between with knowledge on how to reach our time period. And maybe their will be another dreamon out break and they try to fight the egg and they'll hatch the egg and someone or something will come out.... ok this is my last thing it's completely speculation and is just something I'd like to see but what if the *:]* isn't really referring to dream because if it was it would be this *:)* and instead the egg will hatch a new player the king of dreamons and another smiley-faced content creator. One that's smiley face is more reminiscent of the in between smiley face rather than dream's. I'm saying what if the egg hatched fruitberries. Ik there's little to no evidence for the fruitberries thing it was just a fun little idea that i came up with and wanted to share

Ok this is part 2 to my theory: i actually have more evidence!!! Ok so dream smp season 3 is basically tales from the smp except all the stories take place in present day and give the focus character of that episode character development and a chance to be the main character. You've got Tommy and dream, Sam and puffy vs the eggpire, Ranboo, tales of the smp, las navadas, and Fundy's nightmare. I'm honestly suprised that my dreamon theory is still plausible. Ok so I'll explain how all of these plots are relevant and how they all fit into my theory. Tommy was stuck in prison with a possible dreamon descendant aka dream which is the obvious one. Sam and Puffy fighting the eggpire is them fighting the egg which was also obvious. Now the Ranboo thing is also obvious but it's really interesting.... So the dreamon in his plot is obviously the enderwalker aka his sleep walk mode which *posses* him like the egg does to it's followers. Also i think i have a out there theory on why the ender walk state has the same voice as dream. I think the enderwalker dreamon is the same dreamon that possed dream back when the dreamon hunters were formed. And then when they did the ritual and banished it, it was gone for a while but it latched onto Ranboo. And since dream was the last person it latched onto, that's the voice it communicates with. Tales of the smp i mainly went over in part one but basically the keepers of the in between are just like the enderwalker dreamon where it's a super natural being that causes people to lose their memory and is associated with a smiley face. And the other side is probably the birth place/original home of the egg and maybe other dreamons as well. Now las navadas is a bit tricky it's the only one i haven't really figured out yet. It was implied in chapter one that bbh and big q may have a rivalry in the fiture which would make the las Navadas plot nicely connected to the egg but i honestly don't have much else. And last but not least Fundy's nightmare. This one is both obvious but also kinda weird because of how new it is so I'll probably look over it again. Just like karl with the in between, Fundy is sent to a place out of this reality that sends him on an easter egg hunt that leads him to mysterious books written by an alternate versions of themselves and just like karl with the in between, whenever Fundy searches for more knowledge than the place wants him to find, an evil entity chaces him. And obviously it ended with ANOTHER SMILEY FACE that looks like the one on quackity's skin hmm.... maybe there's a connection there... anyways i think it's cool that when u step back and really take in all the similarities of these very different storylines, it's really amazing how well they fit together. Also i want to establish the difference between spirits and dreamons to set up a fun theory llike the fruitberries one. Ok so dreamons aren't affected by sunlight or the surface like spirits such as a *G L A T T* are. Also i think that ghostbur can survive on land because of his blue i mean we've already established that blue is an object that comes from dreamons. Maybe dreamons bleed blue and that's why they aren't affected by the surface. Because the antidote is literally in their bloodstream. Anyway the other difference between spirits and dreamons are that spirit are dead players and dreamons are characters. Ok so my fun little theory is that Mexican dream is a good dreamon. He's a entity that somehow can traverse the surface in order to reach *G L A T T's* gym without blue, you could also say that he possesses quackity and that's why big q doesn't canonically know about him and also he's associated with a smiley face and is a made up character and isn't an actual version of quackity or a reincarnated/undead ghost version of another character. Anyways that's all I've got. sorry for the long comments 😅

I also have a theory that is kinda crazy but has slight evidence, and mostly speculation.
DreamXD is a God, who made Ranboo and Dream in his image. Ranboo was a failed expirment of DreamXD, that left where he was being held. He was imperfect considering his memory problems. Dream was a perfect version of Ranboo. He was put on the world with other life forms to find Ranboo. This explains why Dream torments Ranboo. If he was made in dreamXD's image, he would have some sort of power (revival book and the telepathy to talk to Ranboo in his head) and he would feel the need of having more and more power and showing he is more than everyone else. This is why he killed tommy, to prove a point. Why he fought L'Manburg, to prove he was stronger. His line to tommy before killing him may be foreshadowing to him being related to DreamXD

You could easily see this as him being cocky, but with my theory, it makes a lot of stuff make sense.

Theory: We have similar powers to Karl in Ani’s Dream SMP game as we can go back and choose different videos to go to alternate universes made by our choices. The only difference for us is that UA-cam acts as our in between

I think this is a huge stretch. Several points contradict this:
1. The smile is different. Why would Dream change his signature smile? He uses it everywhere. Yeah, the smile on his chest may match the smile in the in-between, but the smile he uses to signify that he did something is ":)". There is no reason for him to change it. He doesn't care if he gets caught. That just means that people will fear him more since they know that he has control of a whole different dimension. And that leads me to my next point.
2. If Dream had control over the in-between, wouldn't he flaunt it more? He likes to show that he has control. He likes to show how powerful he is. He doesn't care who knows. So why would he hide it? That just proves how powerful he is and how powerless everyone on the SMP is. So he would flaunt it WAAAAY more than what we see.
3. The in-between is described as being "alive". The books keep saying "it" watches him. That implies that the dimension itself is alive. So I believe that the in-between creates the books itself to talk to Karl. So I don't think anyone has control over the dimension. I don't think there is any "God" or whatever controlling the in-between.
4. Karl confirmed that the wither rose in the in-between represented how the in-between was poisoning Karl, while the white tulip in the Other Side represents how The Other Side means no harm to Karl.
5. Ghostbur has been gone for a long time, so how does he have anything to do with this?
6. I believe Dream just has a god complex and isn't actually a god. He canonically doesn't have access to commands and is a normal person. The "dream" in Ranboo's head wasn't put there by Dream and has no connection to Dream. Ranboo has repeated this time and time. The "Dream" in Ranboo's head is still just Ranboo. Ranboo is talking to himself every time he talks to the "Dream" voice. The reason why it sounds like Dream is unknown currently, but we know that it has no connection to Dream.
7. The nether blocks are probably just there for atmospheric purposes and because they match the blackstone and dark coloring of the Other Side. They most likely have no connection to the Egg. And if the egg had control over a whole other dimension, wouldn't the Eggpire know about it? They haven't mentioned it yet, which probably means that it doesn't.
8. The first sighting of the in-between was after The Lost City of Mizu, which aired before The Masquerade.
9. The Masquerade being about the Egg doesn't mean that the Egg has a connection to Karl's time traveling. It was 9 times out of 10 just there as a backstory for the Egg to show that it has been around for a long time.

@@lartts7483 THANK YOU! Sorry, just have some pent-up frustration with theories that rely on HUUUUGE stretches just to make sense. I went a little crazy with this one as you can tell! XD
I might have to re-watch the video to make sure, but I don't think he said that the "Inbetweners" WERE Dream. He said that they were demigod-like persons LIKE Dream. Similar abilities, maybe due to their origins, but the Inbetweeners are NOT Dream. Ani was talking about power levels in the sentence prior, and used Dream as a comparison to show how much power the Inbetweeners might have.
I think the reason why the smiley faces are different is to make sure there no mix up. I was also skeptical after the first time the Inbetweeners used a smiley, but they use brackets instead of parentheses when talking to Karl to avoid confusion. Everyone in the DSMP fandom knows how integral the smile symbol is to Dream and his brand, so they had to do SOMETHING different in order to still get a smiley face on that page without accidently saying that this is Dream talking.
From what we've seen, the " :) " is basically Dreams signature now. Karl wouldn't be confused as to who's speaking to him if that symbol were there. Because Karl didn't react, I think it's safe to assume that the difference in symbols is big when it comes to smiles in the SMP.
Sorry I went on such a rant in regards to your FIRST point. I did end up reading the rest, I promise. Semantics are a big deal to me, and it shows. Overall, I can agree with your points, but I can also see how Ani came to his conclusions. It's like an episode of Game Theory. In order for a theory to work, you have to ignore some aspects of canon, or you'll never post any content. Theorist are typically well aware when they are making leaps in logic, or leaving things out to make a timeline coherent. If they're not aware, there are always kind folk like you there to bring it to their attention.

I guess my only response to this reply would be that, based on what Ani has seen of Dream's character, it could be that his head canon is that Dream is a demigod. Depending on how you look at the Dream SMP and it characters, there are many who would agree with the sentiment. Whereas some see Dream as a power hungry teletubby with a god complex, the mystery behind his actions give credence to the idea that there is something "more" about him. His status as creator and admin of the SMP, along with the emergence of the "DreamXD" character, no mater it's real world explanation, fuels that belief. You won't believe how many fanfics there are with this head canon at the center.
If Ani is using this POV as a starting point in regards to Dream character, you can see how he would come to such conclusions.

So.... The whole thing is a battle between entities. Everyone on the SMP are just chess pieces. The only one who might be able to affect it is Dream, and as long as he is imprisoned, he'll never be able to. I think that the members will face a choice soon. They will need Dream... but he'll demand freedom.

This was actually very interesting. I don't have a theory of my own, but lately I've just been listening to Dream SMP Theories and such.
My theory for what Karl actually is:
He is not a time traveler, he is a alternate dimension traveler, you see other Karls who had their wills taken in some of the episodes of the Inbeetween, probably from other dimensions. Second the Inbeetween and the Other Side might be representations of Ranboo two sides, the smile that was used in the last books from the Inbeetween showed a smiley face, normally associated with Dream, but we know that Ranboo is associated with Dream as well. A lot of the books from the Other Side really seem like some of the Ranboo’s books, words being repeated, Caps Lock, a sensation of madness, and the most important part, the colors of both castles, a white one and a black one.
Edit: additional note, one other reason for both castles representing both sides of Ranboo, by a storytelling standpoint, it makes sense, because we can’t see the Enderwalk when Ranboo is streaming, so then we can see both sides and their differences for future scenes, so the audience can differentiate both sides

I'm pretty sure this :] smiley face is Quackitys. This :) is Dreams. And in Fundys recent lore stream, at the end u can see Quackitys smiley face with a casino sound in the background. Both streams have a black figure chasing them as well. I think Quackity has something to do with this. Not dream. Both streams had this :] in them including the back figure. This is just my theory though!
The one thing I would add to this spectaular theory was that Dream is definitely behind the "Inbetweeners"
If other people's theory's of Ranboo being a time traveler once are true, thatd explain why the egg called him a traitor for helping dream
The in-between is really beautiful, bit I've never heard someone describe it as "bleached" before. My perspective has changed
Never seen someone interpret a bright, pure white place as bad and a dark, black and red place as good. Pretty bold, but I like it.

I was watching this while trying to figure out the lore of the Dream SMP, and I noticed, what if Dream is also using Karl's energy, seeing that he is probably behind all of this, to excape prison, go back in time and kill Tommy before he finds the disks, go back and stop L'manburg from growing. What if Dream wants to go back, and rule with an iron fist, so that Tommy, would have never been spared, or any unlike Dream action. This would be a perfect way to end the lore. Dream and Techno, with others, trying to destroy what will be, before it is... But this is all just speculation.

I just figured the white flowers in the Other Side and the black flowers in the Inbetween were to show that they're both not what they seem and have an alternate side.
As usual epic theory, BUT the only issue is can’t it be taken the other way around, as in how the in between is an oasis from the other side which is controlled by the egg. So the travelers made a wormhole to easier rescue the other travelers and put them in the inbetween where travellers are free of power drain since white is also considered the colour of freedom and independence. I mean I know that after the streams the in between is likely to be the bad side but I’m just addressing ur theory considering it can be taken either way.

One of my personal theories that I have is that Karl maybe travelled back to the time of Schlatt's time of being president in Manberg and destroyed the button and filled the room in the Red Festival when Wilbur couldn't find the button after Tubbo was executed, because- Wilbur pushing the button could lead to a turn of events that lead to a complete apocalypse, like something shown in the episode The Lost City Of Mizu. However Karl did not know that Wilbur couldn't find the button back then so he thinks this is the time he pushes it, but Wilbur ends up pushing it anyway on Nov 16th. Hopefully we see how this apocalypse happens, it could be very interesting and dark, and especially something different from the rest of the story arcs in the current Dream SMP. So basically in the end, it's a paradox and there's nothing anyone can do to escape that fate- except probably Karl.
One other thing that could be support this: The Egg turns the color Red into White. I think the InBetween used to be red, but The Egg sucked it all away. It was removed later, but the red couldn’t reappear.

The '":]" face is used by one person that I know of as of now - Ranboo...
The Inbetween is white and so is Ranboo's unknown hybrid side :/

7:41 That one is a bit of a reach I would say, since Ghostbur himself wasn't the inventor of that catchphrase, but Wilbur. I think a lot of people gloss over the fact that Wilbur has offered blue to some people in the past, even during the Independence war. Might be a bit of a strech for my own theory, but I'd just like to point that out.
I just had a crazy thought about why Ramboo has memory loss. is the white side of his face somehow connected to the Inbetweeners and their power sapping abilities? Now I cant stop thinking about it
maybe dreamxd is one of the inbetweeners but is the real dream from another time, in the future when dream achieves absolute power

Also I do want to say that I think its dream ruling the inbetween, he uses Karl to learn about past and future, and ranboo to learn about the present. They both use memory books that they end up losing, we know dream has books in prison as well. Knowledge is power, so dream wants to know about everything

Its a mix out of red,green and blue light
But white objects are actually colorless due to them reflecting all kinds of light kinda like the in-between reflecting Karl's Light and Claiming its their own

Like what if this whole world was simply created to stop him from ending up where all the other ghosts are. It’s why it’s called the in between. Also could explain where Karl went from the lore as after the war where Techno kept killing him he seemingly disappeared. Also explains why in 2 of the episodes Sir Billiam is a villain, they are trying to please Karl.
Karl is alive and fine, he’s shown up in other lore and helped Tommy kill the withers after the main takeover
@@thatoneguyontheinternet4639 it all seems a little convenient though. Techno kills Karl 3 times in the war, makes plans to rebuild L’Manberg and then doesn’t show up again. We know from deaths like Jack Manifold that sometimes the 3 canon deaths aren’t instant as he still had time to walk the prime path before going to hell and telling Satan “no I’m Jack Manifold I’m gonna live”.

@@Josh-wj7jj If all of Techno's kills were canon, everyone would have one life or be dead, it was also around this time when Karl started to get more involved with lore, so I don't think he would want to be dead. Also, tommy just visited Kimiko kingdom, and Nihachu and many other members have namedropped it (Kimiko kingdom is the city founded by Karl)

One question I still have is: how does Ranboo fit into this? I don't think it's a coincidence that Ran, his all black enderman side, showed up and acts all mysterious in the same episode as when Karl first enters the all black Other Side.
I don't think the egg can control a place as big as the other side. Just thinking that it could be that a part of the tentacle monster got cut off and traveled to the SMP through the rift and that is the egg. Thus the egg doesn't know about itself and is doing what it's real body did, trying to grow. This would give more sense as to why the egg killed Karl and Karl got his consciousness in the in-between when he first met the egg. But this is just all speculation on my part.

i dknt think that the egg controls the other side,i think that the egg used to be "inside" of the other side,cuz as you see the tentacle like things on the floor looks like it ran out of life,it doesnt have the same vibe to red vines from the egg
and if The Other Side is the true gateway through time,then it explains why Two eggs exists in different timlines and different event(the mascerade and the one bad found),it even looks different to one another,the one egg fron mascerade looks a bit bigger than when bad frist found it ,so maybe some one created the egg,someone who can manipulate or aware of time traveling,my bet goes to ranboo since his skin represents the two gateways,The Inbetween and The Other Side

Just a fun little thing I noticed:
The "Inbetween" and "Other Side" are, or at least could be, literal.
If you were to look at an example of a wormhole, you can see that it almost looks like a folded peice of paper that someone stabbed through, or something along the lines of that. In order to get to the other side of the wormhole, you'd need to travel inbetween the figurative folded paper.
Wormholes are commonly associated in sci-fi with long distance space travel, teleportation, and others of the sort; However, it can also be easily associated with time travel.
Does this mean anything? Maybe, who knows.
Your “the inbetween sucks out the color in people” and the “other side is the egg” don’t mix with the fact that Hannah’s roses became white tulips when with the egg lol

I feel like, since now that fundy and George have the same illness, that karl could have that. I would have a lot of sense to why he cant control his travels
I believe the inbetween has a deep evil and that’s what the egg is controlling but has a sort of shield to make it seem less menacing.
However I believe the other side is just out of date and under used slightly over taken by some sort of time plant and has no shield becuase once it was beautiful and did not need a shield becuase it had no evil to hide
It’s also weird that both of the dimensions take Carl’s colors and turn them black(the other side) and white(the in between)
Or maybe the egg does does not have a strong connection to this and just happend to land near al, the stories maybe it’s like attracted to the power that clearly comes from time travel?
I feel like the two smilies must be different, its a subtle difference but dream's smiley is ALWAYS :) but the Inbetweeners and now the entity in Funday's dream use :] the smiley using a ] could just be a smiley representing the Dreamons as opposed to Dreams :)

Here’s my actual theory.
You know how you think the smiley meant dream? What if it wasn’t him? Judging by the curved writing, the smiley could of came out like this; :). However, it wasn’t. What if the smiley was :] and who used these type of smileys?
Quackity!
Now I know some people are gonna day “but Karl forgot Quackity!” THATS MY POINT!
What if Quackity is trying to protect Karl? The “stick to the path” message may be telling Karl to keep away from the other time travellers! Now keep in mind, in the video he mentioned how they take bits of Karl’s identity and try claim it as their own, maybe Quackity has been there the whole time? In the Mansion, where he was represented as a hillbilly, Quackity showed to be bared with no clothes while others wore suits, masks and posh accents. Now here’s where I think it links... in the murder town (forgot the name) Quackity is BBH’s wife, having the same accent and once again, bare. Now I think somehow Quackity was dragged to where ever Karl was since they were once in a relationship; Karlnapity.
And since Quackity was dragged where Karl was I think the egg attempted to block Quackity out his life to avoid its plans to be disturbed.
Going back to the past opinion, the smileys itself may be showing something as well. Isn’t it strange how in every scenario Quackity has been involved with a high power? Jschlatt, Tubbo? And attempted to kill dream? Well I’m thinking Quackity knows about the future. I think something bad will happen to Karl and he wants to protect him, even if it means Karl’s not remembering him!
Another theory is, I think Quackity was the person in Fundys nightmare trying to warn him on the future. I’m aware others have thought this to, therefore giving me an idea, and that they made their own. However, I think I just have a twisted mind but do you ever see Fundy and Quackity together? Only in Karl’s story’s. Therefore leading to my point on how he’s a time traveller! He is trying to get to fundy in all the story’s, but he has to take a risk of losing his identity in “The in between” to enter a time dream!
And that lady’s and gentlemen, is my theory.

> If Dream just made a deal with the In-Betweeners, he might have used some magic/power from the In-Betweeners to control Ranboo to gain some of his own powers, hence why Ranboo had “said” that “he is in control” in one of his streams
> Because the egg is losing some of its power from the In-Betweeners intercepting the time travelers, it appears in the current timeline of the Dream SMP to regain more power by sapping the current characters in order to save Karl/itself and “The Other Side”
> The In-Betweeners might actually be Wilbur and Jschlatt (not ghostbur). Given that some theories appeared recently (after Tommyinnit's revival) stating that Ghostbur is really just the “nice side” of Wilbur, it can be proof that perhaps Wilbur and Jshlatt are actually sapping from Karl’s power so that they can revive themselves: an alternative way since Dream isn’t willing to revive them. (This also solves the factor of the motivation of the In-betweeners.)

I would like to put forward the idea that the in-between was once a holy place corrupted by the egg. The other side is run by dreamons. Both sides are evil and every single time travel place is going to have some flaw. It's a pick your favorite
The Inbetweeners could be eviler versions of Karl recruiting other Karls, or eliminating the ones that don't want to join, turning them into those mindless husks....
It could also be that the inbetweeners are the storywriters of the smp i. E. Wilbur soot or a not known third party. That would make sence, because the Writers of the story know everything about it, so the could project every scenario of the futur. But that‘s just a theory a dreamsmp theory thanks for watchinnn😂

I have a theory
Karl is the one writing those books to warn present Karl about all the dangers and risks present Karl is making
And Karl is the one controling both in-between and the other side
In-between is controlled by normal future karl or dreamXD and the other side is controlled by evil Karl
I think Quackity might have something to do with this, as in Fundy's recent lore stream, he was haunted by a smile that was exactly identical to Quackty's. The Inbetween has the frequent smile " :] " which is very similar to Quackity's. (Originally I thought it was DreamXD, but not anymore).
Ever since the prison thing with Dream, he must have gained knowledge of some sort to get powerful enough to do all of this(?). So the Inbetween is controlled by Quackity, while the Other Side: the Egg.
I also do agree that the Egg may be "good", just not in the _normal_ way.
The rest is also a great theory! I never thought of some of that!

Could the Inbetweeners be related to Quackity in some sort of way? I mean, Quackity is not just the one using this smile :] , he is one of the people that hates the Egg the most and he's hungry for power. I think this could be connected to Quackity's lore stream a few days ago

The Inbetween is controlled by Dreamons and the reason why the Egg only had the butler kill people while Sir Billyum fed people to it is because that Egg was inexperienced and also it still had the time-travelers. The modern egg knows how to control people from farther away and has to rely on them more due to the less time-travelers giving it energy. Yet, it can't take everything from Karl because without Karl being mostly in control, it could interfere with his time travel abilities despite him not having any control over them.
But maybe the in-between got drained from colour BY the egg, and the wither roses mean that there used to be life, but it got drained (because you get wither roses when a wither is spawned near flowers, etc) and the rift is the eggs way of going into the inbeetween to drawing the power, and that is why it is all white and why there weren't any of the white-karl-skins in the first time of visiting it, because the egg mind controlled karl, but couldn't make him lose any memories. And that might also be how the egg found out about the in between. Then the egg wanted the power of the time travelers. The in between was always white though, so my theory is probably a long shot.
