This is just sad. I grew up and still live in Minneapolis right down the road from over north. It’s so fucked up how you can’t even go outside without feeling uncomfortable or scared that if you make a wrong move you will get shot at. This is crazy. There are families that just want to get out of the hole of poverty, and gangs. Some people just need to realize that your out here shooting and ending lifes over some drugs or a symbol. Tsc. All blacks needa come together and stop this. And don’t swipe up saying “it’s not just black people” that’s an excuse. Your right it’s not just black people but in general they mostly are blacks. We all need to come together

I enjoyed this video, I lived in Minneapolis back in 1990-92 when crime wasn't as bad on the North Side like it is today. That being said, Minneapolis is still a better city than most US cities. Racism in the police department needs to be addressed in order for the city to move forward in a better direction for the minorities and it's citizens to be able to live a better quality of life. I believe Minneapolis, MN. can fix those issues and be a leading city for equality.

The conduct of the police department needs to be addressed??? How about the terrible insane conduct of black America??? What if all Americans behaved like black America??? Just think how many police we would have to hire if all Americans where just like you guys??????????????

The main thing all these people want, based on the video is (1) They want a better life, and a safer life (2) Aware and honest about the conditions in which they live. That's more than so many others can say.

Idk if it's just because I grew up in a smaller town, but most black people seem pretty happy in Minnesota. So hearing that there's still shit going on in the city isn't surprising, but pretty concerning. I'm not sure what's causing the problems in the city, but I hope that there can be a more coming together in the future of Minneapolis.

Safer than most Midwestern cities. I did a search on Google with another city with similar population as Minneapolis for comparison. Minneapolis population, 425,000. 27 homicides as of 2020. Kansas City, population 490,000. 148 homicides as of 2020. You see how big the difference is, Kansas City has almost 5 times the homicides with a similar population. Just imagine what the homicide number will be at the end of 2020, probably in the 200's and for a city with only 490,000 people that's fucking bad like real fucking bad hahahaha. If I lived there I'd pack my bags and move to a new location, but aye I guess some people don't have that opportunity so to each his own.

The truth is that the introduction of crack cocaine and the move north of gang members to the Twin Cities ruined North Minneapolis. I lived there for years and had very little problems with people. Now it's all about drugs, guns, gangs, poverty, and violence in general. I loved shopping on Broadway and going to the park with friends. That section of the city is what it is now: a cesspool of violence. It's too bad that young men that live there are just trying to do the right thing and get shit for trying by low life wanna be gangsters or the cops that mistake (or are just racist) them for these same gangsters. I have no answers or fixes to this dilemma. Keep working in a positive way would be my advice. Some think it's a badge of courage to live on the "real streets" but most don't have a choice and suffer what the "real streets" really has to offer: Death, addiction, AIDS, and prison. Broken dreams and promises...get out and away while you can.

The problem is in these kids eyes being positive ain't cool and the females don't want no good boys. We've been praising our brothers and sisters for going in and out of prison/jail and rebelling so long that its become the standard for being real in our community and until that way of thinking changes the same negative things will continue to happen. We were taught that everything positive or done the right way is lame or unattractive that's why allot of my people in the inner city strive to be great yet caught up with the hood mentality to whyle out so they're excepted, they want respect amongst their peers so whatever to prove they down they go do and its sad bc we should want more.

I MEAN ALWAYS! SOMEONE TRYING TEST YOU. I know every single hood from the Southside and Northside from African American, Asians Hispanics, native gangs out here.
we all trying make a way out the hood. it's up to us as Ol heads to tell these youngins before it's to late for them but you gotta always be strap just to protect yo self shit just stupid but it is wat it iz 💯💯👌

I live in Houston and I feel like up north is more racist. I was in Minneapolis on the train and got up to let this old white lady have a seat cause down south thats how I was raised and the old lady said "gracias amigo" looking at me like I don't speak English or something. But on the real the South is way more diverse, so I feel like we got more used to each other here. Up north there ain't as much diversity so I guess they don't know how to treat people. I thank God I was blessed to be raised with kids from India, Vietnam, Pakistan, Nigeria, Puerto Ricans, Salvadorians, Dominicans, white kids, African Americans, and other Mexicans like me. Houston got it all and were I lived it's like all the races lived in the same apartment complexes and neighborhoods.
