I know I am late to this breakdown but guys, you are so generous by spending your precious time, giving the gems of your works through these livestreams. We learnt so much from this. Love you guys so so much!!!
@@MrDisrupta they most likely did as they got scouted by PMR in 2010/11, and either way the success of Latch as a record was attained by the involvement of PMR/Universal Music without a doubt.
I have a wonderful memory from 2019 of being in an Uber one night. Talk came on the radio, I started humming along, and by the end of the song me and the driver were both singing along together at full volume. Thank you for sharing your production secrets!
When I heard this song on the radio, I thought it would be something that Disclosure would make. I never knew it was by them when it played on the radio because the radio said the artist of the song they only said Khalid.
This was so insightful. I love your energy, enthusiasm, and humor. I would love to work with you both. You're an inspiration to me as a producer. Thank you. 🎨🤙🏿
Billie and finneas are basically a package deal so it’s not very likely but it would probably be sick. Maybe a disclosure remix would be more realistic.
Before this started i thought that it was featuring Dj Khaled and I had a very skeptical eyebrow raised when you were talking about how many great ideas he comes up with - I mean, I know he's got that 'Shouting "DJ KHALED" over everything' idea, but...
I see that you are one of the best in the world at making things sound incredible, but I wonder what would you do if the challenge is to keep things as natural as possible, to have a natural sound. You make everything sound so clear and make deep cuts and that is very good for that genre, but you can't layer the voice like that on an Adele song -- for example -- because that girl worked too hard at the recording session just to cut out her "naturals" in the voice with the techniques you presented. You know what I mean? I mean I always watched videos in which you make things sound artificial, but can you make a video in which the goal is to make them sound as natural as possible, yet loud and proud? When Adele gets on stage she sounds 90% like on album because her producers kept much of the "natural" in her voice. HOW DO YOU DO THAT?

The chords in "Talk" were done with a free synth? Disclosure is really proving that you don't need expensive stuff to make a hit.
they use stock plugins too
having a major label helps tho
They didn't have a major when they made latch, on Logic stock.....

Thanks so much for doing these breakdowns! I have been an avid fan and listener for a really long time!!!
It strikes me how much you can hear the room in the vocal recording. Shows how you don't need a completely dry room to get good vocals.
