We had a blast having you in our facilities and working together on some exciting upgrades for your weapon. It’s always awesome to collaborate and share our engineering expertise to help you push Skorpios even further. We can’t wait to see what you do next in the arena! 🦂🤖⚙
I love these videos with manufacturers, just straight professionals making amazing things. Pretty happy somebody told you about belt tensioning, might be a simple part but everytime the belt slipped in last world championship Chris and Kenny went on that the bot was on fire. Just not having some belt smoke escape the bot should help a ton with judges decisions as well as more reliable spin up of the weapon! Just make sure you don't tighten it too much as you'll get a ton of extra friction and hits from the weapon have more chance to transmit through the chain and belt back into the motor and shatter some magnets.
Hopefully the advice from Bishop Wiscarver pays off, when we watched BATTLEBOTS FACEOFFS. Also looking forward to see the Progress of PROJECT: EXTINCTION (Wrex REBOOT).
Excited to see how the upgrades to Skorpios perform, that's crazy how you went through an even thicker armour piece on Calypso! Also excited to see more news on Wrecks!
Incredible workshop these guys have. 8:20 Found a new weapon: a beautiful arm. Mount it on Skorpios and Skorpios can bag its opponents. Change the label on the bags to "Bagged by Skorpios" and it's good to go. The existing weapon seems much improved. It's always a good idea to have other pros have a fresh look at a problem
Looking forward to seeing the improved skorpios! And please do more with bishop-wisecarver, i want to see more of their products and more of their discussions about skorpios!
Watch out with the timing belt, having some slip during a hit seems useful to not transmit all that shock to the motor. You'd get more shock transmission with a timing belt, though it would also get better traction for getting up to speed.
So Skorpios has long been considered the "defensive" hammer saw and Sawblaze the "offensive" one. What if Skorpios also gets the offense? I dunno, but it might just rhyme with Pliant Rut!
Awesome video, Zac! Can you explain how increasing the pulley diameter improves your spinup time? That seems counterintuitive; would expect a lower gear ratio to decrease torque to the weapon
I hope this doesn't sound weird, but I find precision engineering incredibly sexy. There's just something about ultra-close tolerances and smoothly-operating mechanisms that appeals to me. Too bad that combat robotics sources the finest tech that money can buy... in order to smash it to pieces!😁
19:19 bro even in beetles it's said to be necessary for v belts to have tensioners to run properly. Also I came for BattleBots and got SmarterEveryDay from temu

Thank you for sharing this! Very cool to see the engineering, problem solving and production.

what a cool place! looks like a super fun place to work
It is!
Now we're talking!
Skorpios is going to be really punching above it's weight now.
I want skorpios to be its unique successful hammer bot other than being considered a water down version of sawblaze (according to many, not me)

370lb Wrecks would be insane and so fricking awesome

New Scorpios weapon system: Bishop Wisecarver arm holding a big f*king axe.
Looking forward to seeing the improved skorpios!

So skorpios isn't just a shove bot now? Nice.
Zack: "So I have this problem, every time I go to fight, my robot doesn't move. Do you have any advice?"
Wisecarver: "Have you tried turning it on?".
I is excite!
Always great stuff! Great job on the vids!
I've never seen this episode of How it's Made before
I love that show
Captain Zach Sparrow finally ordained as the Bishop of Wise Carving.

I think he mentioned using a clutch on the motor shaft.

After I defeated, Tombstone saw blaze really stepped up his defensive game.
I’d say both of us have been trying to improve our deficiencies.
Yeah I'm not an engineer, or anything even remotely adjacent to it, but it's still interesting
I would love to see Mark Roper enter into BattleBots…I would love to know if any builders have ever reached out Rob to help improve their BattleBots..
Awesome video, Zac!

Diana often brings the weapon down before it’s fully spun up too
@@Moakmeister which will be helped by the faster spin up time

So Face Off is going to be episodes and not just all the fights cut together?
Yes!!
Oh that’s gonna be fun

15 minutes of this 20 minutes video is advertisement.
It absolutely is. And it's a damned rare occasion that I'm okay with that. This is one of them.
BattleBots is a motorsport, and sponsorships are the norm for motorsports.
So much wind noise.
Sorry
