I personally love the old "metallic" formula that we see in her first 3 palettes. I find they are more of a Satin which I love!!! It's such a shame that brands barely do satins anymore. It's either a matte or a foiled metallic and if your lucky a glittery topper.
I do agree. I love a good satin shade, they are the perfect one and done shadows and still make you look really put together 💗💗

I do have all of them, and love them all.
I have a neutral skin tone and look good in warm and cool colors, so that makes buying and wearing eyeshadow easier. It is my favorite makeup item.

You do such a great Job with these videos. They are always so fun to watch while being really informative & helpful. The added pics really help visualize what a palette can do. It probably makes editing twice as long, but you always seem to go the extra mile…and I very much appreciate.
I totally need a tips/techniques video on glittery metallics…I’ve had such a difficult time with the some of the more glittery “special” Pat shades & even the duochromes in the Huda Rose quartz ….they end up everywhere, and I had creasing …which is crazy …As I don’t usually have creasing issues, like ever!

Venus in fleurs vouyeuristic vixen was my first ever introduction to the wonderful world of Pat McGrath shadows, as I bought it in store in Selfridges after a little play with it, so I have a very different opinion to it, I’m afraid! I love the lightest champagne colour as I don’t have a vast eyeshadow collection, so I haven’t already got loads of that type of shade already. Everyone starts somewhere after all and I think if she started to cater just to people who already have lots of her palettes, she wouldn’t get as many new customers discovering her and starting off their collections maybe? I don’t know but maybe that’s why she always puts in the neutralish matte, the light shimmery shade and her favourite golds….because most people don’t already have them? Perhaps the same with the pinks? Maybe they sell really well, especially with people who don’t have loads of her palettes.
I do agree about the darkest matte shade in this palette though but tbh I don’t really use that one much at all as it’s much too dark for me (or at least was, when I was starting out with these type of shadows…and again now, as I can’t control my hands properly due to guillain barre, so it has a great chance of ending up all over my face!)
I LOVE rose fire nectar and that one shade was the reason I bought the palette! It’s a great single shadow now for me (with my hand problems), I just pat it on my lid and done…I’ve never had any real issues with flaking but I do use a good primer and then the intensifeyes often as well. The bronze one I can take or leave tbh as I have so many more prettier shades now.
This palette led me to discovering more of Pats stuff inc the motherships (I have three so far and I’m tempted by midnight sun next, mainly for the copper and lightest special shades) so it has such a fond place in my heart! It really inspires me as I love warm shades …the warmer the better tbh (cool shades generally don’t suit me at all on my blue eyes, they just look totally wrong, mainly blues, greys and cool browns, just look muddy on me…..I can do greens, purples and black if I’m careful). I also adore glittery, shimmery shades and the more so, the better again. I have divine rose 2, bronze seduction (the reds are why I bought it and I wear them a lot!) and huetopian dream …..loving the warm tones and at 46, I don’t think that will ever change as I know what suits me by now hopefully.
I could not agree more about the Bridgerton palette! The quality is insane!

I never get tired of you talking about Pat McGrath! Great ranking! I can't rank mine xO I can tell you what's the last ones but I don't think I have a favorite yet. Maybe when I get subversive since it's the one I really wanted at first! Although, I think I've used Celestial Divinity a lot more 🤔 I'm still not done making looks out of it either :o

My preferences usually depend on my mood lol That's why I constantly stress they are all good haha I just can't get behind the color story on that palette for some reason but everyone always loves it so much so I think I'm crazy haha 💗💗💗
@@MartinaLily Me too! And I think of them almost like single shadows so I can't pinpoint which one. Out of all the Motherships, I've used Sublime more since I think it's the most versatile but I don't "love" it. Hoping one day a Mothership comes where I actually like everything. Least favorite is hands down Fleur Fantasia quad! Don't care for the bright pink and especially the lavender duochrome. The latter specially since it doesn't look that great with my skintone :/
It's funny how our preferences can differ so much from one another. I noticed from ranking and reading comments that people who really like Celestial Divinity tend to not care much for the Odyssey and vice versa! I still can't get myself to like Odyssey's color story xD so many people swear by it and I want to like it and have it but I just can't D: I guess it saves me money at least? 😂

Same! My Bronze Seduction is pretty new, I only got them late last year but the same shade has a hard pan! Kinkysweat said hers has the same issue. So buyer beware, I guess.
Not sure about the other metallics in that palette, the others seem to be okay-ish to me.

It took me a while to break down and buy a PM palette. My first one was the Divine Rose II, I bought it on PoshMark BNIB for $90. Then I bought "Decadence" with all the yummy metallics and then "Midnight Sun" which is a beautiful color story but not quite my tones because i am pretty fair/pale skin (like uncooked chicken has Theresa says, lol). I also got the two mini palettes in the white plastic packaging and 2 quads. I can't keep getting them because my collection is ridiculous big and I only have 2 eyes and no time to play with everything I have already. I do love these videos though, I can drool 🤤 over them, appreciate them and try not to buy them! Your pics are stunning you added for us, and I LOVE swatches!!
During the Black Friday sales I finally bit the bullet and ordered from PML. I bought every mothership besides the decadence. I got the Bridgerton 6pan one and you’re so right about the flip in matte formula. Hands down, 100% the celestial odyssey is a fave! Those metallics are crazy good. My green came shattered, I cleaned up the palette and took a photo, contacted customer service and they sent me a new one. I’m kicking myself for not getting the first celestial palette. Needless to say when Black Friday November 2022 rolls around, I will get the Decadence and whatever she releases for holiday this year. I love using multiple palettes for one look so I appreciate your videos. Sending you love from Tulsa, Oklahoma. 💋

I have all the quads minus Bronze Borealis and would be so hard to rank the rest, but I do LOVE the one you don't like LOL but I can totally see why you don't like it. I have worked with it a couple times but I make sure to wear a glitter glue for the pale fire nectar shade.
Oh the Celestial Divinity is back in stock and I LOVE that palette because of the pinks and purple shades. The mattes are the drier formula but I still prefer that one over the Celestial Odyssey because I like the color story more.Celestial Odyssey does have better formula but actually reach for Celestial Divinity quite often and highly recommend it!
Oh I love seeing your ranking! We are so different 😂 this is why I always say pick the palette that is your fave color story cos they are all amazing and it really comes down to which color story will you get the most out of. See even tho I wear a lot of purple for some reason the celestial divinity didn’t appeal to me. I don’t know why but every time I look at it I’m like nah haha also subliminal is just really a cult classics 🙌🏼💗
@@MartinaLily I couldn't agree more! All her pettes are amazing and I couldn't recommend one specific one either. Midnight Sun was my first palette and then it was an addiction after! I purchased it in the fall so that color story just made for the perfect fall palette. You are right it all depends on what you like. If you prefer a basic palette the Divine Rose 1 but if you like color then def Subversive. Everyone has their own preferences in makeup style and color.

I only own bronze subduction so can’t compare to any other PMG palette but the gold and taupe shades are just as your described. Mine is not to old and it’s been like that from the start so I just use them in a different way. The taupe shade works well all over the lid blended with any matte shade in the crease and outer corner. (I am a dark skin black women for reference)
Oh interesting that is super good to know thank you! Maybe they are just meant to be more of a topper type formula. I think that blended over the lid would be so stunning tho
Midnight sun and divine rose 1 are my favourite motherships, i just love them so happy i bought them and i got the Celestial Odyssey for Christmas and that is a brilliant palette and for the price yes please, and the great thing about mother Pat is she always has a sale so you never have to pay full price 🙌

There are 4 motherships I don't own but are on my list. Decadence has been in the top spot of wants for a long time. You couldn't buy it for the longest time but I see it's back. I really wanted the Star Wars packaging. I also don't own Bronze Seduction, Divine Rose 1 or Moonlit Seduction.
I don't own anything else by Pat except the other motherships. They are just so expensive. It's like I buy 1 of her items a year but this year I chose Danessa Myricks. It's like my Xmas treat. So maybe next year. :) 😀

I purchased the Midnight Sun based off your recommendation. I got it on sale and I’m really happy with it! I wanted a Christmas/New Year’s Eve palette, and it fits the bill perfectly! My sights are now set on the Sublime palette… you’re not helping my wallet at all! 😜😅

The Blitz Astral shades that are baked and super glittery can be tricky. I find that if I dig into the pan and apply I get more fall out on my face. If I want to avoid fall out, I need to just lightly tap the shade once or twice and apply on my lid. We see our favorite influencers dig into the pan when swatching, but that can create fallout with excessive eyeshadow.

And which one do you I recommend... hmm... honestly I know they look the same but when I was swatching them they were really really different to each other. Quality wise I think Bridgerton is better but it depends on if you want more shades and variety 💗💗💗💗💗💗

I just completed my Mothership collection 2 days ago when there was a glitch and all Mothership palettes were $47 each. I bought 3 Motherships, 2 blushes, a lip gloss trio, the foundation, concealer, artistry wand and a fetish balm. On top of that I got 2 extreme precision eye duos for free. All that for under $300! I couldn't believe it.

Dang, I'm aware that I'm "herrassing" you with comments this week Martina (it will calm down soon, it will LOL ;)), but when you get me into that Mothership-mood, then I just keep watching^^. I always discover something new watching your ranking vids of these palettes.
I'm loving the matte satin Bridgerton formula more and more, so I can understand that this palette entered at a relatively high rank despite only being a six pan. And now that you have the Bridgerton 2 as well, would you rank it higher or lower than Diamond of the first water?
And the cool tone golds...

Ooohh ok so I actually like Diamond better than Belle. Which maybe controversial but even tho Diamond has those two pink shades overall I find it to not lean as pink as Belle. I love tones more in Diamond and because the gold is just gigabyte from subversive I don’t really know if I’ll use it as much I use Diamond 🤷🏻♀️
Totally agree about subliminal. Such a solid staple in the motherships. Haha ok I’ll have to give that purple a go. Honestly I’ve never used it so I guess I should try at least once 😂💗💗💗

I couldn’t believe it when you said you didn’t like Voyeuristic Vixen. I recently got it and fell in love looking at it. Now I love the shimmers and thought I loved the matte. But You are right. That matte shade is patchy and hard to blend. Yesterday I almost had a fit trying to blend that matte shade ughhhh. I thought it was just me having poor blending skills but nope, that shade sucks lol. I love the others though

I'm on a watching Pat McGrath ranking videos kick and literally every beauty youtuber ranks it completely differently. It really really is up to personal style and preference.
I am so happy that I just bought the #1 for you and I have the sixth first eyeshadow palettes but I haven’t used them ☺️ I never have the time to practice I am always in a hurry so I always take the first palette close to me I am trying to arrange my makeup room from high end brands and put a side the less expensive because if I don’t do that I would never going to use them 🤔👍🏻👋🏻🙏😷🇲🇽🇺🇸

I noticed that you gravitate towards cool tones. That is because your skin tone is cool like mine. If you check the back of your wrist, you'll notice that your veins are purple blue toned. There are three skin tones, cool, warm and neutral. I can see red in your skin, which indicates that silver, cool toned clothing, cool toned foundation and makeup, suit you best.
I have the same experience with the two metallics in bronze Seduction as soon as I bought it from the pmg website 😭

So… I know that you put a TON of time and work into creating such amazing content, as it shines through in each and every one of your videos. But I would love to put in a request for an updated Pat ranking, as I also own every single Pat palette (with the exception of her latest Star Wars collection, as I was a bit disappointed in the collection, and it also sold out quickly and has not yet been restocked, and I don’t know if it will be restocked). I am always curious to hear your reasoning behind why your palette choices move up and down in the ranking, because my taste is so very similar to your’s. I am constantly trying to recreate your gorgeous looks, as you can genuinely make ANY palette look great on your stunningly beautiful eyes and flawless face. Much love to you from Texas!

I own 4 palettes and the only one I thought I would get buyers remorse from is the Bridgerton. Turns out it’s my favourite one!! And my everyday palette!!!
Completely agree! I got it because I love Pat and Bridgerton but I definitely didn't think I would love it and use it as much as I do

I agree with you on voyeristic vixen. It’s pretty, don’t get me wrong, but it’s uninspiring and no matter what I do, the look always looks the same. I just got huetopian dreams a few days ago and I used it for like 3-4 days in a row and while I like it….. I’m struggling with it. Idk what to do with it! I like the looks I did, but I don’t LOVEEEEE them. And I want the purple glitter shade to give me more pigment. I tried putting it on top of some other shadows but it was underwhelming. I need to watch some tutorials and see if I can come up with some better looks.
And yes! Do something other than pinks for the love of all things makeup! I did skip the Bridgerton palette bc I just don’t love pinks like that and being there was only 6 shades. I’m sad I don’t get to experience the formula but 🤷🏻♀️if it had been a quad minus the pinks, hands down I would’ve bought it bc I LOVE the swatches of that pinky bronze and I love the blue special shade but for the price and the ugly packaging (sorry! Yes I said it!) I just can’t bring myself to buy it.
I didn’t want decadence either but the more I saw reviews on it the more I wanted it. I prefer cool tones too so I love the silver/taupes in there too! It is a little sad there’s no special shades in decadence but you can’t go wrong with the metallics/shimmers!
I couldn’t bring myself to buy celestial odyssey bc other than the green, the teal and that light lavender color….. I feel like those colors are already in her other palettes. And all the pink shades….. eh. Turns me off. I wouldn’t use the orangey or the gold either. It is beautiful to look at though.

It's really difficult to choose One of the big palettes! They looks quite similar one to each other... Maybe there's one particular shade like Blue or green or violet but I don't like them so much

Only have two motherships and both Holiday releases and never really touch them…. Even with that said I still plan to purchase bronze seduction and midnight sun hoping I will use those two….

I do have 4 of her quads 2 being the Holiday editions but the FALL OUT IS REAL to the point I can’t use them, I absolutely can’t do my eyes first maybe once I get my brows micro bladed I will be able to do so, I can use the Sydney grace collab with Mel Thompson chromes with ZERO fallout so if SG can do that why can’t a big brand PML do so…..hmmm ??
Oh which two motherships do you have? I do love BS and MS I have to admit haha But I love them all so completely biased.
Are they the special shade quads? Yeah I think they are different formulas cos the SG palette is almost a cream metallic which is why it doesn't have much fallout but I think Pats are more designed to be like glitters that you can sheer out or build up. I mean that's just my speculation I don't know for sure haha They can hard though especially if you can't do eyes first. Another trick you try is just putting a tissue under your eyes while applying them and then all the fallout should go out on that 💗💗💗
This one reminds me of the Gwen Stefanni UD palette from like 2017. But i know PM has much better formulas
