With my husband we lived for a short time in Lagos. He took me on a visit his hometown Onitsha. Then the Biafra war broke out. As an Igbo he was arrested in Lagos. I went to the police station with our two little boys. The birth of our third child was nearly due. I pleaded for my husband to be released. They refused.. I did not move, I kept on pleading. They finally released him. The roads to Biafra were already blocked. So we left for Ghana, I was worried that my baby would be born on the road. Thank God, all went well. My husband decided that we go back to Europe.
