Good evening Tommy. It is good to see that you as a professional own and use regularly tools that could be considered entry level by some people. Good that you emphasised that the success of these machines is the setting up and not using them beyond their intended limits. It will be interesting to see you make a dust shroud.

Good evening Andrew, yes setup is key knowing how not to abuse the machine.

Great video Tommy. As others have said, very informative re the band saw. I’d be interested to see a video on how you set yours up please…😉

Tommy, I need a dust shroud for my miter saw, so please video your project. Peter

Ok Peter 👌 just not sure when it will be 🙂

Agreed 💯! They make the most dust in the shop even with a modified shroud and hooked to a dust collection system.

Congratulations on the channel growth and looking forward to seeing what you come up with for dust extraction on your mitre saw

Hi Tommy, congrats on your growth! The bandsaw like you said gets the job done but not for re-sawing. I’d like to see what you come up with for your miter saw dust collection as they are the worst in the shop. I’ve modified the stock port and have it hooked up to a dust collection and still don’t see the gains I want. I’m thinking building an enclosed area for it.

Thanks, I haven't decided what the plan is for dust collection yet but my thinking is some dust extraction on it is better than none 🙂 hopefully it won't take me another 26years to get around to it 😅

Dust collection "when I get around to doing it" after 26 years? We'll not be holding our breaths then 🤣. It would be good to see it if you do get round to it. 👍

@@nialstewart8263 the dogs like to lying in the sawdust at the back of the bench 🤣🤣 in fairness the mess has been to the back in an area I wasn't walking etc so never bothered me that much.

Hi Tommy I for one am surprised by your bandsaw I just imagined you would have a hugh one lesson to be learned that bigger isn't always needed and setup is what is really important

I love that little bandsaw Tommy lad.. It's a belter. I say it needs to be set up correctly. Ur spot on there. What tyoe of guides does it have.. Are they proper bearing guides.. I'm about to get a wee Axminster 1400 .. It has a cast Iron table on it and it's only 310 Euros and they deliver it from the UK Tommy. I'm goin' to get one in the next couple of months.. They do one for under 600 Euros too which is a really nice Bandsaw too which I may get but I defo want a small bandsaw.
I was looking through ur channel's video collection. U have a great selectionof videos there pal. I#ll br cathing up on them all soon as well T mate.. Take it easy pal..

    •  2 роки тому +1

Thanks, it's actually doesn't have bearing guides it has steel block style guides and yes even a very uncomplicated machine set up correctly will work a treat 👍.

Hi Tommy, I'd like to see your take on a dust shroud for your mitre saw please when you get round to it. I know you've not finished the tour yet but do you have a radial arm saw? If not is there a reason and if you do what do you use it for? I'm thinking about getting one as I see quite a few woodworkers using then for various things and I wondered what your take on them was.

    •  2 роки тому +1

Exactly when I get around to it hopefully won't be another 26years 🤣. I do have a radial arm saw but I haven't had it in the workshop for years mainly because the mitre saw and panel saw etc made it unnecessary for the work I was doing. I guess it would be purely down to your work requirements but don't forget a radial arm saw isn't the safest piece of machinery either

@ Thanks Tommy. I guess I'll keep pondering for a while longer. Nothing like being decisive eh? 😆
