- In this episode our MessianTics rabbis wrestle with an interesting conundrum that appears to be common (intentionally or not) in the Body of Messiah. Often Pauline Epistles are handled and taught with an attitude almost as though they are more important than any other part of the Brit Chadashah (New Testament). In fact, many believers are better acquainted with Paul's words than Yeshua's... Listen to our rabbis dig into this issue and discuss why this may be and how to balance things out.
Below is a link to a chronology of Acts and the Epistles (mentioned in the episode) that can be helpful in understanding the historical context of the Epistles.

Great conversation to listen to. Cultural context and the timeline in which things actually occurred throughout the entirety of scripture has interested me for a long time. I have thus far not found a book or collection of books that lays it out succinctly. Any recommendations?
I left messianic Judaism in part because of the over-emphasis on Paul and his identity as a pharisee. The shul I was in abused Paul's writings in order to push the false teaching of unrecognized mediation and the words of Christ were largely ignored, especially where he's being critical of the pharisees. It's impossible to have a messianic movement if the messiah is an afterthought.
