I bought this VHS from the 82d Museum when I got to Division in summer 1989. Was in A co. 4/325 INF. Saw action in Panama Invasion and Desert Shield / Storm. Good place to be FROM.

Same here, 86'-90' The 82nd was focused on Central America at that time. Nicaragua and Honduras Capturing Manuel Noriega was the goal.

Aw man! My dad, who was in the 82nd in the early 60s, bought this on VHS in the 80s and I watched it over and over as a teen before I enlisted. I haven't seen this in at least 28 years but I recognized it right away, right down to the narrator's voice! We also had the previous 82nd promo video, with the same narrator.
One difference that allowed me to distinguish them (and confirmed that this was the later of the two that we had) was the prime mover of the M102 105mm howitzer. Here the prime mover is given as the "Hum Vee" (the way he pronounces it speaks to the fact that it had not yet become the ubiquitous icon that it later became during and after the Gulf War), whereas in the previous video it was this thing called a "gama goat"; a six-wheeled freak of nature that was mercifully phased out in the mid 80s.
(I'm sure I've just offended some gama goat aficionados out there who are huffing and puffing in indignation and shaking their fists at their LED screens and ranting about how the gama goat was the greatest piece of military equipment ever put into service and if we still had them 9/11 would've _never happened!)_

I was in the82nd Airborne Division (2/504 Inf and 307 Eng) as a Commo Chief. I was lucky to see the 319th Artillery do their thing with their 105mm towed artillery piece and was amazed by it's power.

@ oh nice, commo chief very important job, thanks for your comment, yes the M102 was versatile, towed, heavy drop by chute, sling load on choppers for a 2 gun raid, or just transporting. Great at indirect fire and direct fire, has a 8 mile range, shoot over mountains, etc. can fire a point detonating or delayed setting in the fuse, vicinity fuses to make round detonated in air above enemy troops or light vehicles , we call that killer juniors, Apers round for anti personnel, or anti armor round, illumination rounds for night time observation for spotters or Fist personnel at a high angle with tube pointed way up and it drifts down from a very high elevation, Willy Pete rounds, white phosphorus round which is a nasty round which shatters and spreads a very high temperature buts over a large area and can do extreme damage to personnel or equipment, can also shoot a rap-round, rocket assisted round which increases range big time. Etc, anyways thank you for serving, AATW!!

In Buffalo ny, there's a Naval park with 2 ships and a submarine. On one of the ships there's a exhibit dedicated to the 82nd airborne with this 1988 video/DVD looping over and over again.

Stationed at Ft. Bragg '85-'88, 18th Aviation Brigade, 2/159th (Chinook). Had plenty of interaction w/Division troops (including Operation Golden Pheasant, Honduras) and plenty of awe at the wackiness that routinely occurred in "Division".

I'm retired Army with a total of 8 years in the 82nd ABN DIV at two different times. The first time was with A 2/504 from 1971 - 1974 and the second time B 307 ENG from 1979 - 1984 as a side note I earned my Master Parachutes Wing around 1981. I was sitting behind a desk in 1991 when Desert Storm started and was just about to retire. I don't think I've ever seen this video but it brings back a whole lot of memories.
