I would say both - rough draft is there for you to fix the mistakes you recognise before you write your final and a mind map helps you to follow your own ideas and structure for your story (keep in mind that a mind map is very short and should not have paragraphs)👍🏻😊

My advice to you would be to go through past paper 3s (you can get them on Advantage Learn and the DBE’s website) to see what type of topics they give for finals. With the essay, if you don’t understand one of the topics, there’s always the options of the pictures which is helpful😊
