Any Dior Fahrenheit bottles made after the year 2000 were gravely reformulated and watered down, only being a slight shadow of its former glory from 1988 to 1999. I remember smelling this on a friend of mine in his car I said "Wow what is that?" And he said what? I said, "your cologne" and that's when I also became interested in fragrances...A crazy, crazy expensive hobby having accumulated almost 400 different frags...and still going strong. For me Fahrenheit is about the violet note and musky drydown with that iconic gasoline leather accord. Great review of a Fave classic Jacob Yan.. 👌 🙌 😀 ❤️ 😍..
Some vintage bottles are going to smell better than others due to aging and how they are kept. I have a full bottle from the 90s and it's better than the mini 10ml bottle from the late 80s.
Interesting. Bought one for myself in 2001. My first real perfume. Loved it, to me it was quite different fruity scent, very soft, fresh, sweet, romantic kind of, quite feminine I would say. Had no idea about gasoline and leather at all, did not smell it like at all. So, got another one recently in 2022. And it is quite noticeably different. The new one is definitely a bit more rough, grounded, not so airy and sweet. Now I can see what people call a petrol station smell. Not sure which one I would prefer if I had to choose, most likely the old one, but still could reconsider.
You’re absolutely right about the difference between the two. You’re the only one who has mentioned this that I’ve seen. I have a 50ml bottle from 1989. 1/3 still left. And it smells awesome :)
I went to buy Farenheit for myself and I immediately noticed a change in the scent. The sales assistant was adamant that there has been no change in the formulation but she was wrong. I think they have ruined Farenheit. The new one is watery and too lemony. I adored Farenheit but I can't buy the new one as it's not the same. I am annoyed that the sales assistant who works for Dior tried to convince me there is no difference to the old Farenheit. She just wanted me to buy a bottle even though I knew it was not the Farenheit I am used to. I now have to try and find the old Farenheit. Thanks for validating what I thought.
Why would one change that perfect scent? Once I finished my last original bottle (it tooks years for me to finish it as it lasted so long) and noticed it is not around anymore and the new one they put in place of it is a total joke when compared to the original, I was so frustrated. :(
Because they have to change it. There are international laws they pass that certain chemicals can’t be used anymore because of a possible allergic reaction for instance. They try put another chemical in it so they can come as close as possible.
@@jacob-yan I did not know that is the reason, thanks. But still they should come up with something close and not a totally different scent. Such a shame.
I just purchased a bottle of Fahrenheit edt, batchcode 4A06 9 months old.. WHAT A RIPPOFF! Very VERRY weak performance, weak sillage.. A waste of $90 absolutely. They've butchered it! What a shame man
Where can I find the old version?its my favorite memory of my Dad when I was a little girl.
Try second hand websites. In europe we use vinted. Find something similar

Yess such an iconic fragrance Fernando. I’m now looking to buy a vintage bottle😁
Don’t agree. Still quality from 2000-forward. Different, yes but everything changes.

yeh mine is nearly finished, was about to buy a new one today and decided to smell it first and it was different
The miniature bottles are 10ml, not 5…
It's a shame Dior never could make that original formulation ever again. A few of the compounds are banned.

Yes theres a huge difference now compared to the older bottles.
Very good 👍 man
The new scent is not the same and smells very different and bad. I'm not a fan at all.
Perfume version is different but i love it. Best fahrenheit for me, maybe even better than old one.
