If unit has multiple models, all surviving models are healed to full hp after battle - therefore 0hp Krimson Killerz will always end up with full hp at the end of the battle in this case
@@SpencerLemay yeah and they are pretty irrelevant because of the capacity. you need so many settlements. and many heroes are behind tier 4 or 5 buildings. and you can't use the heroes in your other armies. one unbeatable army doesn't win you the war, especially against massive factions with 30+ settlements. they will just reconquer the stuff you took from them
I honestly would not mind them doing a blanket pass on all of these leadership stacking buffs/debuffs in WH3. But it makes no sense to nerf this and leave the Stinky Stacks alone, they are part of the same theme.
For anyone wondering I tried this and by turn 27 I took dwarf capital with only the black orcs from grimgor with 4 confident heroes and didnt lose a single entity so it can be done pretty early already
One of the first doomstacks I actually enjoy, because it's not just stacking an OP unit or stacking heroes to fight (like von Carstein and vampire heroes), but instead, stack heroes and let a single "normal" unit fight. this is really amazing.
If all heroes would be night goblins shamans, they would already stalk. But the army will miss perfect vigour on the kk and Foot of Gork. Anyway black orcs bosses are very tanky and anti-large, only when outnumbered would I hide them, so in my version of this I have no ng to stay thematic, since Grimgor despise them.

By not allowing it to drop below x amount the unit cannot lose models no matter how much health it loses. Because it cannot lose models health is irrelevant.
Ok, after using (or attempting to use) this doomstack myself, the person who sent this in was a little deceptive in how they portrayed this. They sent an ideal situation for the army, where they can't get mobbed and burst down while getting pounded by artillery, which will happen in virtually every field battle you use this in unless the enemy is weak. @@revelence9128 i doubt it, many people don't even play greenskins, and you'd have to specifically play grimgor, and know what the banner does. I've definitely never seen this strat before this vid. Plus, even when you do figure it out, while your searching for the heroes the crimsons can take down all the important slow units like artillery.
Well as soon as you would get the gimmick all you would need is really a leadership debuff spells and they would die quite quickly. It would maybe take 2 or 3 such spells on top of each other but if you have the mages it would work. So after you encouter that army once and lose you can easily counter.
Exactly people arent really considering that to farm 18 heroes with confident trait takes a good amount of time, and you can only have 1 banner anyways and 1 army does not win a campaign, by the time your memeing around with this stack you've already won the campaign and are just playing around.
whats also impressive is that with 5 black orc big bosses you can grant your entire army 100% Vigour loss reduction, meaning that your units will be fighting at full capacity at all times.
I tried this and it turns out they can still be “killed” by artillery but they won’t die their models will just stand in the position they were hit for the rest of the battle
One thing I can think of is that this stack might not work as well when put in a position where the lords can come under attack, ie, coming under attack by an archer-heavy army in the open field. If the lords die, the leadership would go down.
Back in the day, they released a Magic the Gathering set called Apocalypse. In that set there was a card called Penumbra Kavu with the flavor text: "These kavu are so stubborn they even refuse to die." Always loved that flavor text but now I have really witnessed what that means.
Some notes from my use of this stack. Artillery and larger entities will knock some of the units down and it will still count as a kill. This wont actually destroy any orks if they get though the battle but it will cause leadership issues and the unit will be wiped if all of them are knocked down. It doesnt kill any orks, it will just result in them standing where they got knocked down, unable to follow commands.

I think they went with the black orc big bosses cause they're one of the easiest to get lots of, only need like level 2 or 3 of the basic infantry recruitment building to get +1 recruit capacity
Getting an odd bug running something similar in a campaign of mine. I'm having models "die" despite them still being at 120+ leadership. And by "die," I don't mean actually die. The count of models left for the unit is dropping, but the models don't fall down dead, and I think maybe keep fighting, but they're detached from the rest of the unit and either stand around where they "died" or run off in some random direction across the map and will not accept orders. And then when the battle is over, it counts as zero models having been killed.

I would lose 1/3 of my army before figuring out wtf was going on, and it would be too late to start hunting the heroes down

I think that he could have hired some disciplined heroes so that the orks reach like 80 melee attack and also get some leadership buff

I think there were just enough orcs around believing these guys were immortal so reality warped to make it so. Since they are also in red armor, I bet they run faster, too!
I think they went with the black orc big bosses cause they're one of the easiest to get lots of, only need like level 2 or 3 of the basic infantry recruitment building to get +1 recruit capacity

Breaking News: Orks literally too motivated to die.
Getting an odd bug running something similar in a campaign of mine. I'm having models "die" despite them still being at 120+ leadership. And by "die," I don't mean actually die. The count of models left for the unit is dropping, but the models don't fall down dead, and I think maybe keep fighting, but they're detached from the rest of the unit and either stand around where they "died" or run off in some random direction across the map and will not accept orders. And then when the battle is over, it counts as zero models having been killed.
Question: Does "below 50% Leadership" mean their base Leadership of 80 or the Leadership value on their unit card in campaign?
Should be their base leadership as far as I know. Also there's also the fact that grimgor can boost them even more
