It’s quite funny listening to these guys talk about backups and their skill set and usage and them trying to elevate their performance because it’s needed because of all the injuries => TO ME, it shows a disconnect from reality……. …….because the REALITY IS => Joe Burrow sat on our bench for 3 years and won a Natty, POY, Heisman and was the NFL’s No 1 pick…. Cardale Jones was our 3rd string QB => was the B!GCG MVP, Natty winner and won every start he made and was an NFL draft pick as a QB. ……Brendon White got some playing time vs Nebraska when Jordan Fuller was ejected for Targeting => White had 13 tackles that game and later was the Rose Bowl MVP……. White, Jones were both benched and we quickly lost easy games we should have won……Burrow had to sit and watch JTBarrett lose to damn near everyone…… Certainly our scheme wasn’t a good fit for any of these 3 (my apologies to Tom Herman who brilliantly tweaked Oscar Meyer’s impotent offensive scheme to the most powerful and impressive style possible)….. but it proves player selection is only part of the solution. Adding CJ Hicks or K Jackson, Melton, Curry etc won’t do any good unless the scheme changes and they’re allowed to attack…… Hard to believe our Media and our Coaching staff don’t understand these simple concepts.

I have been asking for Gabe Powers all year, certainly no LB has shown themselves to be absolute studs who have to play constantly, I think Coach JL is mishandling the LB Rotation - get Powers and Reese in there periodically
When you watch our guys run block I see techniques that allow penetration with most contact occurring on our side of the ball. Ours guys surrender leverage early and often, back on their heels just trying to keep contact and shield defenders from the running lanes. While it appears that pass protection has improved from last year, run blocking continues with the bad habits I have been bitching about for at least 3 years. It seems like our big guys are being taught techniques that they are just not able to consistently employ.
Next man up, if they're not ready blame the coaches, our TEs aren't great at blocking, they never were. We don't have a true TE coach so I don't expect great strides, I just hope he can recognize talent and skill.

Didn't have much of a defense against 56 point Indiana last week! Nebraska that is.
