There is a big difference between water resistant and waterproof. IP ratings are for water and dust resistance. Waterproof ratings are usually for things that are designed to go into water like dive watches and such. Just felt like that needed to be clarified, seeing as how this is a rugged device.

Fair assessment from the product page I did see it was ip65 which is water resistant but I also saw they dunked it in tank of water and also washed the tabled under faucet . It's fair to say it would survive rain but maybe don't try swimming with it .
