Summary of this lecture :
1) Wave is a form of energy which is travelling by producing disturbances in its surroundings.
2)One of the disturbances it produce is displacement, displacement is a function of x and t both.
3)Only that functions of x and t are called waves
a)whose double partial derivative of y wrt t is directly propotional to double partial derivative of y wrt x. [ shortcut : y = F(ax +/- bt) ]
b)y is defined for any value of x and t.
4) wave speed is b/a
5) If (a) x and t has same sign than wave travels in negative x axis.
(b) x and t has opposite sign than wave travels in positive x axis

@1:03:00 , I solved the question somewhat Mentally Sir🤔.
I used logic, What I did was I basically Took an arbitrary value of y=1 at both cases and Got the value of x, which implies that, the wave repeats the same amt. Of energy after that distance in given time, so I got displacement =1, and since time was given to be 2s. I got v= 0.5 m per second.

Sir in the last question you said that we have to make time constant but then we can give any value of time for example t=0,1,2 etc WHY DID WE MAKE T=0 ONLY because if t=1 suppose then condition for symmetry will not be fulfilled
