TRAPPED BEHIND A GATE WHILE SEARCHING FOR NEW CAMP SITES IN MY BRONCO

- While in Capital State Forrest looking for new camp sites in my Bronco, I found my self trapped behind a gate. It was open when I entered the area, but someone had closed it, trapping me inside of this area. With time running out before needing to pick up my son, will I be able to get me and the Bronco out in time?

This happened to me awhile back. I have carried a cut off wheel and grinder in my rig since that day.
You’ve unlocked one of my anxiety fears of adventure travel 😂😂😂
Hahaha right!? Always made me nervous, but hoping it would never happen
I agree 100% that the government needs to do a better job at marking places. So many times places are "off-limits" and have no marking or signs on them.
I've been stuck behind a similar gate once near elbe, easily my least favorite moment of adventuring. Nature obstacles don't worry me but there is something about gates that is deeply unnerving. Glad you got out without too much trouble! Great video.
LOVE that river spot there in the beginning. We marked that one on our map when we were out there a month or so ago. Great video as usual!
Wow! Good to know. I was just there 2 weeks ago, in fact, and it was my first time there. I loved it but will be mindful of those gates next time. Thanks for the heads up. 👍
I’ve noticed while cruising in my truck or adventure bike in Oregon, seems like everything on the west side towards to coast has gates on the roads, the west side in the Cascades has little to none. Great vids. Cheers
When I bought my 1st 4wd in the late 80 while in NV it was great. Most gates had signs on them that said "close gate behind you", rarely a lock just openness. Then years later I move to Wa and received a Performance Award for crossing a cattle guard into a closed area that wasn't marked.
I discovered you when I saw your rig at Lowe's, kudos on checking out capitol, it's always fun, regardless whether having bonfires, shooting, quadding or just plain exploring
Yeah it’s a cool area for sure. Need to check it out more
It's so misty over there! Great edit.
Thanks man! It’s a cool area for sure and I’m bummed I’ve overlooked it for so long
Appreciate the Bronco content. Getting my 2 door Sasquatch in June after a 2 year wait. I’m down in Vancouver, Wa so maybe bump into you out there somewhere 👍🏻
Cool video. Keep on Duckin...
always enjoy your videos!
Thanks Josh!
Good video, miss going down there but I’ve explored the entire area and my wife doesn’t want to go back haha. I think c-line on the south side has the best views
Hahaha it is a good spot if you don't have a ton of time or don't want to drive a lot!
That’s the type of roads I like to explore easy stuff like that, I can’t wait to get my 1970 bronco going I’ll have to go there and check that place out, like I said I’m in Washington state ( Anacortes area) there’s probably some areas near where I live that I could explore to
YEAH BUDDY!!
Never been there and it’s so close, got to check it out.
Don’t have to go far for beauty thankfully
I just carry bolt cutters with me just in case. Heard a story from a fellow offroader, some thing happened to his buddy, but he had to walk like 10 miles to get service. Worst case you cut the lock to get out. It is what it is unfortunately.
Great video! Which exhaust is on your Bronco? I've got the same one :-) Are you happy with it? Any drone at all?
I carry a bolt cutter, hacksaw, and lock pick set.
I will certainly be adding one or all of these to my kit lol
Always wanted to check out Capitol forest, now I know to bring a master key (bolt cutters) 👍
Hahaha yeah absolutely!
I gotta check out the Capitol State Forest some time. It never occurs to me to go there even though I know it's suuuuper easy to get to.
Great video dude!
I love capital forest, it really is a great place to explore
It’s a cool area for sure man! Definitely check it out!
Capital Forest is a neat area. I've been out there dozen of times. Yet to camp out there.
Definitely some solid spots out there! Bummer it’s being so heavily logged right now
This happened to me a few years ago also near Baker. Took almost 4 hours to get have someone come open the gate.
Oh man that freakin sucks. Luckily this one was pretty quick.
what app do you use for these areas you use ?
Question : Do have a list of the upgrades/companies you can share . items you have installed on your BRONCO. Rack, tent, fridge, ramps and what exhaust do you run. Sounds pretty good.. thank you....
Most of that is listed in the description of each video. I will also be releasing a walk around of the build in the next couple of weeks. If there is anything you’d like to look that isn’t listed, let me know and I can get you a link.
The exhaust is a corsa sport exhaust! Best sounding exhaust for the bronco by far!
Always get out and verify the gate is actually locked. Sometimes people will close the gate behind them just to keep others out.
True. I ran in to a few dummy locked gates which I was hoping this was. Not the case unfortunately
This was super fun to watch! What drone are you using for the arial footage?
Eventually we'll head down to capitol forest. We ended up exploring the lakebed of Keechelus Lake up by Snoqualmie Pass last weekend. I marked out a spot I'd like to drive to near Lost Lake and further up to Mirror Lake in the future (west side of Keechelus lake up higher in the mountains).
We also scoped out the starting point for NF- 4832 past the hiking entrance to Gold Creek Pond, but there's still a snow bank there (although we could drive over it) and a 'road closed' sign...not sure when they officially open that road as we want to make the trip following 4832 over to Kachess Campground in the very near future.
We are still just getting into overlanding/exploring, but so far my family is loving it! Your videos continue to be an inspiration. :)
I’m glad I could inspire you all to get out and do this moreN that is genuinely why I do what I do.
So the lakebed is one of my favorite places ever. I absolutely love it there. Unfortunately, they are closing that down and no more camping is allowed as of this year.
Lost lake is insane. My first video where I stayed on the lakebed started there actually. There’s a spot to the west side of it that is insane. And mirror lake was inaccessible when I went, but maybe you’ll have better lucky.
Unless something changed, dispersed camping in the Capitol State Forest is prohibited. Which is BS IMHO.
I get in trouble if I don't close the gets
Did you trap me in!? Lol
Nope wasn't in that area lol. Sometimes you be able to get a combo lock code off a automated line for the tower on the area.
Glad you were able to get out of capital forest behind the gate great content, and actually funny a week later I went down couple of the trails that you went down in Capitol Forest
I have a beautiful tent that I would like to install on your car, would you be interested?
Always carry bolt cutters.
