"Give It Away" should be your next Red Hot pick. It's a Grammy winner, it influenced a new direction for rock, has an awesome bass line, backwards guitar riffs, and Kiedis' delivery is Rap staccato brilliance, plus the message is the more you give away the more you receive. Oh...and the original video is awesome.
Scar Tissue, Soul to Squeeze, Love Roller Coaster are great tunes. Honestly, their catalog is so vast, you could step on any RHC track and you'll be listening to a great song!
Yes Soul to Squeeze please!
@@jillmayer9501 No doubt! My favorite rhcp song! And I’m a massive fan!
Give it away
I heard Love Rollercoaster last weekend on my way to the store and could not get it out of my head.
So, that was my crazy self dancing on aisle 6, if any of you saw me.
LOL
I love their cover of that song!!!
I think they would also like the Zephyr Song too.
Higher Ground please such a funk sound.
Bassists study Flea's work. He's a kung fu funk master.
I love that phrase, "king Fu funk". Nice
That riff is LITERALLY one of the hardest things to play on guitar... Frusciante is a monster that doesn't know how to back down. It's why I adore him.
My pick for next reaction is 'Dani California' and you need to see the official video. I just rewatched it the other day and and had forgotten how good it was. They go through all the stages from the beginning of rock up to the present time when the song came out, dressed and filmed as they would have been at the time. It's a great video and song.
YES- video is a must!!!👍
Rain dance Maggie
Another one with this kind of cadence, is one of my favs " The Zephyr Song". I've always liked the vibe I get from this one.
Zephyr will put you in a better place... watch the sun rise or set, cheers
The song is about Anthony’s recovery from addiction using the 12 Steps. One of the best songs ever done about being in recovery.
i'm a recovering cocaine addict and i love this song by them. Checkout Knock Me Down by the Chili Peppers. meaningful song. great song too! thx for this reaction. snd if anyone is reading this stay away from hard drugs. they're not worth it. stick to drinking a few beers and smoking a joint. that's all you need. and if u don't need that even better. thx again.
Thanks for sharing that. I know where that hole goes. We're lucky to have come out on the other side...
@@marksimpson1991 yes and thank you.
That emotional and beautiful tone.... welcome to John Frusciante's whole career. That magic he has is definitely special.
I was gonna say something but that will do. :)
Fruciante is an AMAZING guitarist and a AWESOME Human Being.
He is an incredible guitarist but his Harmonies are other worldly. They give RHCP a whole different dimension
Discovering his solo albums was one of the best thing that ever happened to me !
My faves are "The Zephyr Song" and "By the Way". They've done so many great tunes. Much love from England 🏴
Love RHCP! They're my fellow Angelino's. Their song 'Under the Bridge' was my go to song back in the 90's when I was going through depression. It made me feel I wasn't alone.
Try "Breaking the Girl" next. It has a definite Led Zeppelin sound and influence about it.
Wet Sand also has the Zeppelin vibe to it. John said it was inspired by “Over the Hills and Far Away”
The lead singer started out rapping in the 80s - as their sound grew and changed he became more of a singer. But there is still a trace of the rap in a lot of their stuff
This song is like above the clouds. Just sit and dream.
All great songs listed below but I want to throw Dark Necessities into the list. One of the most amazing bass hooks in any song I've heard. Speaking as a bass player, Jay will really appreciate what Flee does in that song.
I love a song that rewards patience. The slow build intro on Dark Necessities is so good.
The way I connect by the way she’s moving to the song is cool to know someone feels the same ❤️❤️
We saw them last year at National's Park and they go hard. They had the crowd in their hands. With the band, we were one.
Their cover of Love Roller Coaster is an excellent tune.
You should listen to their cover of Higher Ground, originally by Stevie Wonder. One of their first hits.
Snow= cocaine & China white heroin. Anthony Kiedis’ drugs of choice before he got sober. I remember these guys in the mid-80s touring small venues and bars. That’s how long they’ve been around.
That’s when I saw them in Colorado
Probably my favorite Chili Peppers song. Under the Bridge would be a great one to cover. By the Way too.
They did Under the Bridge I believe
@@jillmayer9501 searched it on their channel and it doesn't seem so. I'm sure they'll get there
@@andjustjizzforall it was taken down for copyright
@@jillmayer9501 Ahh rip
I highly recommend "Don't Forget Me", "Make You Feel Better", "Dark Necessities", "Dani California", and "Fortune Faded"
Loooove you guys!!! Maaan... Only snows a couple times a year in West Texas and still remember hearing this whole album back then, but this song in particular in the snow and me and all my friends cranking it up in my dad's truck! Amazing memories, one of my fav albums of all time! Loveeee IIIIIIIIT
The Zephyr Song. Brilliant uplifting song.
My pick for the next Chilli Peppers song is Give it Away
Hey, thanks for sharing your reaction. You've actually reacted to some of their slower songs so far. My suggestion are bringing up the funk with songs like "Give It Away," "Hump de Bump," "By the Way," "Can't Stop," "Tell Me Baby," or "Apache Rose Peacock."
Lol she was so into it with the eyes closed 🤣 they are that good !
I haven't listened to RHCP in a while. Now I suddenly wanna bring up my old playlist and do some writing.
one of their best., Johns guitar here is the stuff of legends
Bummer! You should've done the official video!!!
*edit*--- you should Always react to their official videos!
Thanks for this, one of my faves 🥰
Oh my goodness! How did I miss this reaction? This is my favorite song by them!
Scar Tissue is my favorite song of theirs. Another of their slow-ish songs.
The guitar riff in this song is one of my all-time favorites. It just puts you in a good place mentally & spiritually.
these guys take me back to summer nights driving down the sunset strip in my cousin's convertible... the sound from the stereo as warm as the breeze.
This is pure nostalgia. Used to listen to this and other RHCP songs whilst playing tony hawk pro skater 2 and gta vice city 2. God, I miss my childhood.
Have only heard them on radio, but I've liked ALL that I've heard. :)
I saw them (Stadium Arcadium consert) play this song at the globe in Stockholm and yes, it was magic.
That riff is possible to learn but to play the whole song without any miss is impossible.
Love RHCP and have been a fan since the beginning. I would recommend Breaking the Girl, The Otherside, Dani California, Give It Away, Under the Bridge and their cover of Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground.
Wow, you just listed all the ones I was gonna suggest! 🙌
They are so good. I have tickets to their concert August. I don’t know if you’ve reacted to Under The Bridge. Anthony pours his heart out about his struggles with drugs on many of their songs. Killer band! George Clinton produced their 2nd album Freaky Styley, (they were heavy into drugs at that time.) George helped mold their funk sound & joins them on stage when he can. George is retired but still pops up in shows to jam with them, awesome chemistry. More Parliament-Funkadelic, beautiful family.
"Can't Stop" is my favorite R.H.C.P.'s song
Dark Necessities next please! That bass groove though! 🔥🔥🔥
LOVE this song and RHCP. Keep going!
*...and don't leave out "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" or "By The Way" when you react to more RHCP.*
I absolutely love RHCP! There are so many great songs….Soul to Squeeze, Scar Tissue, Under the Bridge, Otherside, Give It Away, Dark Necessities!
Soul To Squeeze is one of their best songs in my opinion ❤️🤘🏼
Goooo way Back to the 80’s when they were a funky punky Band.
Uplift MoFo Party Plan. Fight Like a Brave.
Yes RHCP💖 Can't Stop, listen to any they song..lol Great reaction.
"Breaking the Girl"
"Apache Rose Peacock"
"Love Rollercoaster"
"Give it Away"
"Higher Ground"
"Blood, Sugar, Sex Magic"
"Suck My Kiss"
There are soooo many RHCP songs that are fantastic! Personally I like their earlier stuff...I feel like most of their newer songs sound similar and don't hit as hard. Just my opinion, but you can't go wrong with any of them.
The great thing about the Chili's is that they experiment with so many genres and they really knock them all out of the park. You can just tell they have a genuine passion for all forms of music and it shows.
My favorite song is Show Me Your Soul. A fast paced jam with really good lyrics.
Their new album has a great song called She's a Lover
This is probably my favorite RHCP song.
This song melts me
Chilli peppers did a roof top concert like U2 also did CARPOOL KARAOKE !
"By the Way" should be next.
Stadium Arcadium is such a fantastic album. I bought it for my dad’s birthday when it first came out but I ended up borrowing it from him and listening to it more than he did. 😂
They are touring this summer! See them; one of the best rock shows you will see. I’m going in August for 4th time.
this was the first song i heard from em back in high school and it was cool 🤩😂
Stadium Arcadiam is my favorite album when it came out. Good times
RHCP really is on another level when Frusciante is in the band. Hey provides something that elevates their sound from good to amazing.
The whole Californication album is a masterpiece where you will find almost only great songs, not least Scar tissue and Otherside. Stadium Arcadium came out 7-8 years later with Frusciante back in the band and it is another one with a multitude of songs that are among the best, such as the title track, Dani California and this one.
Yea he's not an original member, but the RHCP just aren't the RHCP without him. He's irreplaceable.
The chili peppers are great. I remember the first time I heard this as a kid and it is still as good as it was when I was 10.
"Give it away" is a Banger!
RHCP-“Tell Me Baby” its a very catchy song one of my favorites, I think you’ll really both are going to like this.
Really enjoyed the video 👌
Don’t forget about The Counting Crows ! ❤️🤟🏼🐇
I love love this song. Had it on repeat for a few months about 15-20 years ago. Still know all the words. Still don’t know what the hell he is talking about.
I think Under the Bridge was the first (and only for a long time) song of theirs I heard. Loved it and basically anything else of theirs. I feel like their music (and a few other bands) are the soundtrack to my teens.
“Can’t Stop” is one you’d really like
I remember doing SNOW(Blow) in the 80's in SoCal . When you don't want someone knowing we use to say "Going skiing this weekend, wanna go?"
RHCP are amazing in concert! Got to see them years ago after Stadium Arcadium dropped.
One of my favs by them!!
I was lucky enough to see RHCP live in Orlando a few years back. I had an extra ticket and brought a friend who wasn't familiar with them. I lent him all my RHCP CDs and he became a huge fan! We loved the concert! Glad to see.you two are becoming fans as well. A truly great band!
I can't believe this vid only has 44K views in 11 months. This is my fav song from RHCP. The musical construction, dynamics of the melody, guitar work. It's incredible. Maybe bc it's from 2006 later in their career? IDK, but it baffles me.
Breaking the Girl is a vibe, please give the people what they want. Cheers
You take me to my happy place today with this song and George Harrison's "Got My Mind Set On You". Two feel-good songs with good memories. All of RHCP's music videos are good, but definitely worth checking out is "Dani California".
These are the ways!!!!
Power of Equality is super prevalent today. Listen with the lyrics because they are powerful!!!
No one is suggesting Yertle the Turtle by RHCP? Lol. They are their own genre of music. No one else does what they do. There is no mistaking them when they come on the radio.
Another great 90s band. 🎵🎙👍
Also "Don't Forget me" live at la Cigale beautiful. 🎸🤘☮️💜
The list for RHCP hits is just endless,
Can't Stop
Scar Tissue
Fortune Faded
The Zephyr Song
Tell me Baby
Hump de Bump
By the Way
and so much more!
Soul To Squeeze, I Could Have Lied, Dark Necessities, Breaking The Girl, My Friends, etc.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers have such a swagger!
Knock Me Down was the song that caught my attention back in the day.
For basketball season, "Magic Johnson."
Interesting choice. Brilliant guitar here. Nice.
Seen them alot Flea another great bassist fun band live
You have to hear 'Give it away' by the Chili Peppers. Combo of rock, rap and a touch of blues. Listen to it on their video.
I love y'alls vibe and the "first time" rabbit hole has got me in my feels as it takes me back to when i heard some of the epic songs that are the soundtrack of my life. Keep it up. Try Mama from My Chemical Romance. My kids introduced me to MCR and this song several years ago. It won't disappoint.
They'll be known for helping bring in the funk rock era. Though I give more credit to Jane's Addiction.
My favorite song from them.
You absolutely have to check out give it away and under the bridge. The entire album of blood sugar sex magic is amazing
This guitar riff is deceptively difficult. Gotta love the uniqueness of the Peppers. Flea for president!
Its this or "Breaking the Girl" for my vote on 'the best MUSIC' that band has ever made. 💯💯💯
This is 1790's music made into something we can all nod our heads to. 😎💯
Guys.. RHCP has such an incredible catalog, and so many bangers.. but it's a tragedy you still haven't listened to Under the Bridge, one of the greatest rock songs ever recorded.
KISS - no make up/live
“I still love you”
ua-cam.com/video/Q94QkRRQKG4/v-deo.html
Billy Vera (great Sax song)
Greatest broken heart song
“What would you do”
ua-cam.com/video/O2ur063fMhs/v-deo.html
Tom Jones “The Voice”
ua-cam.com/video/FIJpPJPrqw8/v-deo.html
By the Way and Otherside both awesome songs
Don’t stop, is a must listen to also
It’s actually “can’t stop” my mistake
They have so many great songs, even ones that aren’t main stream.
Universally Speaking
Dosed
Zephyr Song
Tear
Minor Thing
Bicycle Song
and this is just from By The Way album.
Wow. Looking at the comments and seeing the mwntions of The Zephyr Song. Only album of theirs that I actually have, brilliant album.
If you want harder RHCP songs I'd suggest stuff off Mother's Milk. Their cover of "Higher Ground," "Taste the Pain," "Knock Me Down." Their earlier stuff was harder - check out "Suck My Kiss" & "Warped"
A band you might like is The Violent Femmes and the song is Blister in the Sun.
Add it up, Kiss off, Gone daddy gone... they have a bunch of great songs.
