Ive started on a sportsbike, but my appreciation for cruisers is increasing day by day. It looks so much easier to work on, everything is easy to reach
I built a shadow bobber ~7 yrs back and these videos were not out. It was a pain in the ass, had to trial and error so many times to perfect the fuel and air mixture. Rejetting is definitely one of my lease favs of wrenching on a bike.
The shredding at the end through the back roads was sick I would watch that content all the time
Unreal timing. I was just trying to find a video to Rejet my 88' shadow 600. Thank you
Beautiful bike I have built 3 bobbers and starting a new bobber from a 1998 750 Shadow I love these bikes best looking and everyday riding bobber I have had experience with love your videos keep them coming please
Main jet and pilot jet replacement times two on carburetor complete. Suggested background music for the job; "Bennie and the Jets" by Elton John! 😆 Just kidding. Great Video.
You are honestly riding one of my dream bikes. I imagine owning a red bobber with mini apes and a jockey shifter all the time. It's almost weird how close your bike is to what I dream of.
The view from the cam footage make it look like a minibike tho. Id hvae to have them a little bit wider.
Good job on teaching how to change jets!
Great camera work. Love the overhead view when working on the carb(s). Look into JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screwdrivers. It will change your life working on metric fasteners (especially when dealing with old metric carb fasteners!) You will toss all your Phillips head screwdrivers after you start using JIS. There's a night and day difference in how a JIS screwdriver engages a JIS (metric) fastener vs. using a phillips head screwdriver on the same fastener.
ooh thanks for the tip! Gonna look into them now
@@LNSPLTBLVD Here's a good quick article on it: www.motorcycle.com/ask-mo-anything/difference-between-japanese-jis-phillips.html And if you can get them, the Vessel Megadora Impacta JIS screwdrivers are just awesome. They work like normal, but if you have a stuck fastener, just hit the back of them with a hammer and they have the impact 12 degree unscrewing function to help shock a frozen screw loose (looking at you old float bowl screws!). I have the #2 and #3 Impacta's and they are my absolute favorite screwdrivers of all time. I worked for years on Toyota trucks and metric bikes and for years thought the metric screws where just crap and stripped easily. Turns out they're just not designed to be used with a Phillips head screwdriver. As an added bonus the JIS screwdrivers also work fantastic in Phillips head screws. Basically, the gist of the thing is, Phillips head screwdrivers are designed to cam (slip) out of the hole at the right torque, which is supposed to help speed up assembly line process, but when it comes to old frozen hardware or needing to get it really tight, Phillips just fights you. JIS screwdrivers and screws are designed to hold the driver in the head and rely on the operator to know the correct torque.
@@LNSPLTBLVD Coolest 600 motorbike.
Please, can you tell what diameter of velocity stacks on this carburettor.
Can you guys please please please make a video about removing the stock airbox and removing the unnesecary lines. Thank you ❤
Tj brutal kind of has an in depth video on it
If you still need any help. I can guide you, just let me know!
@@bradypentecostjr7908 thank you, I appreciate it but already figured it out.
@@bradypentecostjr7908 I may need your help
@@joshdiaz9523 alright, what’s up man.
Can't wait to fix the jetting on my bike, balance carbs and get back on the road. Nice video.
I absolutely love what you have done with that bike! Very nice job!
Followed link for stacks. Page states "Fits: CB/CL350, CB/CL360, 450 and 500T". Thanx for jetsrus link.
Always look forward to your videos , not dissapointed this week , great video Bro
I love your videos man, thanks for the information on the jets and also for the links to them
currently doin carbs on dat cb350-4 eye acquired. 4 carbs is strenuous! great vid as always! 🤘😎
with u on man U alls r a must.
Curious at why change both at the same time? Was taught long ago by a master tech to only change one thing at a time when tuning carbs to dial it in. I.E. do only pilots then test, and then main jets, test. Etc.
Sounds good. Keep up the great work.
Agreed, made the mistake of changing too many things at one time and it's just a guessing game at that point.
Because there's website that gives you the option to choose current mods "open Intakes and open exhaust" or pod filters and modified exhaust and it gives you the best option for your mods
@@luckyyou200 können Sie mich die Website geben? Danke!!
Because one carb feeds one cylinder. If you only jet one carb the other cylinder will be lean. You make the same small adjustments to each carb including throttle syncing.
Finally a useful video it saves me money instead of buying more jets that I probably end up on the shelf you know how it goes with jetting you got to get in there and just try and test different sizes til you get it right, you saved me a lot of work thanks, by the way will you be doing a video on an ignition advance for the same bike?
Olá, sou do Brasil, só queria dizer que está muito linda sua shadow
If you did a jetting video on the sportster for the straight (non-baffled) exhaust that would be so freakin helpful! Love all y’all’s stuff, cheers!
Great videos lads I'm hooked on these videos sold my cd450 going for a shadow 😎
Great content guys ! Can you do a video on how to relocate the thermostat and all that stuff to clean the look of the bike please?
Thanks for the video, I took a ride on this trip 🤘
man, thanks for the links. Ive been going crazy trying to find a good jet source.
Great video bro, but I noticed the bad vibration in your front end. At times, your wrists were shaking so bad the image was blurry.
What do you need to do to fix that, balance the front tire, realign the front end?
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Great vid as alway, loving those twisty’s...👊
Jets-- 5:14
Main: 140
Pilot: 45
Verdict- 13:15
Main: 145
Pilot: ???
@@aedressler i know its a lil late but at the end he said he is going to try 145 main (as you said) and 45 pilot. And also he wants to try 148 main and 45 pilot.
@@StratosKG 148 and 45 for some reason was waaay to rich for my bike
i went down to a 115 and a 45 pilot and was able to get it running and moving but very underpowered and alot of cluutch lever feathering
@@andrewortiz687 so what are your plans now?
@@StratosKG I’m gonna change the carb boots see if that will help a bit. I built my own syncing tool and got them leveled out pretty well so I’m thinking if there’s some sort of loss in pressure in that area, maybe might get it goin better? If not I’m takin it to get tuned by a mechanic then I’ll just ask what the heck it was so that for future reference I’m not dancing around but jets from everyone lol
Lovely looking bike, sounds superb
Thanks for the ride Folx!! ✌😎
It’s a lot easier when you don’t have all the unnecessary crap in the way. Really gotta chop and revamp my bike
So true bro.
I had to use a BUNCH of flex-ties to get all those wires and stuff outta the way to yank my carbs.
Trying to see what I can get rid of. Makes it WAY easier.
Nice looking bike, i like the handlebars.
Straight exhaust pipes, with one 45°from the rear cyclinder, normal path,9 from the front welded, sound much more sharp, and meaty. Not so lawn'mowery.
Increase your front sprocket two teeth, make big top end difference.
I wanna see how you did your wiring harness
Me too
Oh yes i would love that.
No
He shows you on the krusty build part 4 exhaust and wiring
Hey guys i love your videos and work. I have one question, what's the best combination of jets that we can use for an open exhaust and open intake setup??
What are you running now man?
Use a jet calculator online
Ni video - good info explained very well. Beautiful bobber. Makes me want one. But, alas, i'm too old. Did you ever put in the bigger jets? How id that turn out?
One thing I noticed in this video is how he has the neck braces chopped out with no plates welded in for extra support. Is extra support for the neck necessary? I want to chop mine out but I’m scared I don’t want my frame to crack 😂
Sick bike man
Cool video. Interesting. Do you pull in the clutch with a lever? I have a 96 VLX. Great engine.
a good thing is to clean the pipes and the inside with some gasoline :) just to make sure there isnt any dirt in the holes
Coolest 600 motorbike.
Please, can you tell what diameter of velocity stacks on this carburettor.
great videos man, long time viewer recent sub lol... what jets did you end up settling with? im planning on running velocity stacks and my baffles have been cut. just wondering what you're running on the dual carb you got on this bike. much appreciated
I bought a shadow because it was a cheap first bike I had know idea about the shadow chopper scene lol
bike looks and sounds so awesome. What kind of bars are those?
Well you sure as shit know what you're doing good video. (Again).
Needing to jet my 2001 honda shadow had to rebuild it when I got it cuz bad leak but it's puttering bad without choke on but still dose when around 70ish
Love the bars! How comfortable are they? I have two screws in my right wrist and need something for long distance
When will you do another camp out in northern Cali? Fly the hey 199 perhaps?
Cool vid man, do you know what would be causing my bike to bog and miss only when trying to stay at 60mph+, if I full throttle it is fine but trying to cruise at that speed or higher it Bogs and misses, wondering if it could be the pilot jet? I have bigger jets than stock, any advise appreciated
Having the same issue
Ever figure this out?
could be foul carb, poor valve clearance or a clog in the fuel line
@@samp3055 I needed another shim on the needles
Thank you for the great videos. And thank you for the "jetsrus" recommendation. Do you have another website you recommend for honda carburetor parts for a vt1100 shadow sabre? I'm having a hard time finding the right diaphragm/slider. I got a set and they are to small, not the right slider. Thx
im not talking about the carbs but the models bike! cuz i want to buy one make build it !
The front sprocket cover please put it back on
I just noticed. When you put your throttle cable on you attached it where the push cable would have gone. Did you find a better snap back that way?
Perfect honda, french com
Dude I dig that choke set up did you buy that or make it? I wanna clean up my handle bars this would be sick to do
Factory choke for the bike...
Yeahhh...🤘
Hey man nice bike .what do you do to the pilot jets
Hi guys, awesome road for a test ride on a sweet as sh1t bike, niiiiiice one passing the Hardley Ferguson’s 😝
I want to replace my dual carb setup with 2 universal carbs.
This should be the same on a vt750 2003 dual carb right?
why would you change vets when you havent changed cylinder or airfilter?
I've been following you for a long time, we live nearby, I live in Millbrea, how can I contact you???
With your Air filter removed, can you still run in a rainy day? Are you from CA or AZ?
went to jetsrus, quite complicated
how did you know the right jets to choose?
Looking for what carb to buy lol I have a 1988 Honda shadow vt600 that’s missing a carb and can’t find the right part any where lmao
I looked at the website but im confused as to where to get the jets
Okay, So now I know how to do it, but could someone please explain to me why and what the benefits are because I honestly have no clue, thanks.
He changed the exhaust and intake (the stacks) and this gives a better airflow. this means the bike runs leaner in fuel. rejetting gives the carb more fuel through the jets and into the cyllinders and gives the proper mixture of air/fuel :)
Daniel Bode thank you, that really helped
Can you tell me about those handlebars you are running on your bike??? If you have a link to where you found them that would be great. Thank you
Cool vid, you really know your way around that Honda! Watching you split those lanes, you must really have to trust those car drivers! I live in New England and here you would get run over and left for dead after the five cars behind you took a shot at you !!!! Nasty people!!!
Does the 98 deluxe 600 have a fuel pump?
Dude, is the PullLine enough ?! Normally you have a Push / Pull on that Throttle ..... i think the Push line is only for safety .... did you have any issues so far ?
where did you relocate both ignition coils?
You remove stock airbox, install velocity stack, change jets and thats all? Is that enough?
Hi, what size CARBURETOR NEEDLE SHIMS? Thanks 😁
Can you please tell me what size Velocity stacks you used
Just curious if you shimmed or switched out the needles to richen up the mid range throttle at all?
What was the Jet setup before you rejetted? Was it jetted after those coctailpipes you used?
Menyenangkan
Sr once I took away all the damn unnecessary hoses and when I ran my bike I felt it wrong, I felt like I lost power a lot of power, it sounds like it's drowning, if you can explain me what’s the cause?
Hey bro, where you get them tiny air cleaner covers?
Hey, do you have any shims on your needle? ✌🏻✌🏻
Will the engine break without a filter?
How did you get the velocity stacks completely on?
Are the roads that bumpy or why the whole bike is shaking all the time
Are you running an inline fuel filter or just straight from tank to carb?
What fender is that?
What throttle cables and throttle housing do you have on your carb
where was this ride from and where to??
what does rejeting the carbs actually do to the motorcycle??
sorry guys, im new to this
How many turns out on your mixture screw are you doing?
But how to adjust the air fuel mixture?
is the vt600 the same then the vlx600?
Where is your clutch lever?
How do you tune it though?
Hi dude. how well do these filters work? how do cylinders feel with them? I also want to put such instead of the standard filter. some say that they miss a lot of garbage and this is not very good. the text was translated by the translator, I hope it is correct and you will understand everything))
Эти парни из Калифорнии, там очень чистый воздух.
these types of ''filters'' only filter out stick, rocks and leafs. A lot of dust and moisture will get sucked up when using these things
nice bike the handlebar looks like ists not so comftable to ride
I have steed 400, did it also fit in or not?
Please answer me
Single carb vid? Pleasseeeee
Nice Bike Fucker! Been wanting to chop a vlx for a minute.
did you get more power after rejetting + custom exhaust compared to the stock bike ?
You can expect to gain a little bit of horsepower, but mainly more responsiveness
What kind/size of tires are you running on this?
