Wendy dance appreciation post: 0:11 her great shoulder movements 0:24 the travel of energy from her arms to her leg as she stands on her heel + that arm/wrist turn! so clean! 0:29 the neck/head lock here is SO GOOD no one else does it better 0:35 she also does the torso wave best here on "swag" 0:53 again her torso popping helps so much with the percussive beats 1:05 she actually does this sequence slightly differently from everyone else > focuses on torso popping again + doesn't stand on toes to elongate that final arm raise but it still looks really good because of her pop/locks, this isn't a bad thing because SM encourages individual dance styles anyways :) 1:21 only wenseul here get the footwork correct 1:28 TORSO POPSSSS 2:04 something about her shift in weight + energy makes this sequence where they lower their arms down much smoother for wenseul compared to joyerene who looks like they just drop it carelessly in comparison, Wendy's also using her head to make better lines (something she is quite good at) 2:07 that arm raise to their chest, wenseul again are the cleanest here, no rushing and they fully execute the move 2:11 great stomps + torso and shoulder rolls compared to yeri 2nd chorus has the same great parts as the first lol 2:49 wenseul again putting their all into that torso wave + moving their arms down 2:51 the turn + travel here is so satisfying to watch, the shift in her weight from each foot is just really nicely executed 3:03 torso wave appreciation x221 3:09 wenseul here do the arm turns the BEST, super clean execution and great energy, however WENDY'S FOOTWORK, no one else did it like her!! she's amazing!! 3:27 just great torso pops again every comeback she just keeps upgrading, I'm so proud of her, her dance lessons are truly paying off and it's so obvious how hard she's working! love you Wendy!

I have been waiting for others to go into detail about her dancing like this because I often feel like some people who critique their dancing still believes Wendy is the same as debut Wendy as a dancer and fail to see how vast her improvement has been. She's come a long way to be one of the best dancers in the group and I feel more people should be appreciating it. The Feel My Rhythm dance practice honestly surprised me because some of the issues with her overdancing/exaggerated movements/stiffness/and using too much energy was toned down. Also, the way she used her arms and hands and neck/chest movements also improved since the Queendom stages. I also loved her footwork during FMR. She was more sharp and fluid. Honestly, the last Step Back stage floored me because Wendy and Seulgi were so powerful on that stage. I thought they were the standouts when before it was BoA/Hyoyeon/Karina on that first Step Back stage. Did you also notice they had Wendy mirroring Seulgi a few times in this choreography (Birthday). I still remember being surprised in the RBB choreography they had Wendy and Seulgi mirroring each other on the bridge when they went down on their knees. I was expecting to see Irene and Seulgi do that dance. There seems to be a change in how they are using Wendy in the choreography. She's been getting more center parts and lined up with Irene and Seulgi more than before. I remember how Seulgi/Irene were mostly the ones in the center. and Wendy off to the side or in the back Also, I must say Joy and Yeri have gotten better in dancing too. I noticed this during Feel My Rhythm too. Seulgi has always been an amazing dancer, but I used to think she was more technical and serious and did everything perfectly without missing a beat. I felt she needed to work on her facial expressions. Yes, the one thing I felt Seulgi lacked was her facial expressions, but over the past couple of years she's improved with her facial expressions and her charisma has elevated to even higher levels. Slaygi is always on point!! Irene is actually a really fluid dancer with the best hip/neck movements in the group. I think some mistake her cold princess vibe for her not being a great performer, but she's actually really good at it. When Irene is ON, she is ON! Inconsistency with stage presence has been something she needed to work on. Her ice princess facial expressions used to bother me, but then I realized I was being drawn in by her blank stare or cold gaze and then one day I was like wow, she is captivating! HaHa! I fell for it and actually love that about her now. I'm enjoying how they are all performing these days. I'm still not over FMR choreography!!

I think Step Back stage (in Suwon/Tokyo) is another example of great styling complimenting great dancing, Wenseul's fits were on fire and their stage performance was similarly lit! even now I still see people amazed at their stage months later I actually did notice Wendy getting more parts in the center + front + mirroring Seulgi as well! I wonder if the choreographer thinks Wendy's energy matches Seulgi better (do we know if it was Sunny still? Joy and Yeri are doing wonderfully keeping up with Wenseulrene and matching their energy, especially when those three are in performance units I actually really enjoy Birthday's choreography, although some people were criticizing it for not having a catchy memorable "point" part like Joy's "blow the confetti" in FMR. I don't think every choreo needs a point part (Kpop standards be damned). I do agree the dance break could be a bit better but god, I do love me some RV domino effect.
