BAB you excelled even yourself with this video. What a great place Guadalest is, I've been up once on a coach and the last time I cycled it. It feels like a million miles away from the 'strip' and is something completely different. The views of the mountains are breathtaking as are those of the reservoirs. I was interested you had walked round the lakes and my plan is to cycle round when I am next there. I was interested that you used the No 16 bus, it just shows how easy and economical it can be to get round.
I really appreciate your kind comments on this vlog particularly, Chris! as this vlog took a lot of work, not only in filming and editing, but also in the research etc. Just a question.. do you have a cross country/mountain bike when you are here? as the terrain around the reservoir is very rocky and full of shail etc, although some of it is a "proper road" but not much of it. The views are incredible though, as you know. Thanks for watching and taking time to interact with me, as always x ☺️❤️☀️⛰️🇪🇦👍🏻🌲
@@benidormandbeyond2445 In Benidorm and Mallorca I go to Decathlon and buy bikes. I am not a mountain bike fan but recently that is all they have as their is a global shortage. When I am staying a long time it is cheaper than hiring and when I was at the Poseidon Playa in November/December at the end of the holiday I gave it to a young chef to get to and from work. At home I do quite a lot of rough track cycle. There are a number of waymarked routes for cyclists and walkers round Altea and Albir which quickly get you into the orange plantations with the mountains as backdrops and they feel a million miles from the coast.
This is so handy to know that you can take a bus and only stay a couple of hrs. Think staying all day in the August heat would kill me 🤣🤣 looking for a boat trip tour to do too thats not an all day thing if you have any suggestions or vlogs x
Haha, I understand re: the heat issue, totally! The boat trips to Calpe, Tabarca and Alicante are all full-on days out really.. it's not overly exciting, but the trip to Peacock Island is a nice enough jaunt out, and gives you great views of Benidorm looking back to the shore, as well as a feeling of life on the "ocean wave"! Just a thought x 🌊☀️🌴⛵
Another very informative vlog, we have a photo of us up here with our 2 sons in 1987 Aged 5 and 1, now the fathers of 2 kids each lol, it's time we paid Another visit so we'll come up next spring on the public bus, I collect miniatures so those museums will be on my list❤ and the almond blossom😊
What a lovely story! 💟 I love Guadalest and the countryside in general in Spring, when all those gorgeous pink blossoms are out! It's an enchanting place isn't it 😊🩷🏡🇪🇦
Love the video! What an amazing place! I am visiting Benidorm this weekend and would really like to visit Guadalest so, are there any buses on weekends from Benidorm to Guadalest? Also, I want to visit the Algar waterfalls, is there a way to get to them from Guadalest?
Hi Joseph, I believe the local Avanza bus (Google it) still runs currently to Guadalest, but only Mondays to Fridays. The Algar Waterfalls service is still showing as "sin servicio" on their official website, although I'm almost 100% certain I saw a bus pass me the other day to that destination! For sure however, local tourist services/offices RoundTown Travel offer daytrips to both locations.. so maybe message them for prices and schedules.. hope this helps x ☀️👍🏻🚌🌊
