I’ve learned to always watch/ listen when Troy is on this channel because he brings out conversations that would, otherwise, be uncomfortable. Truly inspiring and eye opening. Every. Single. Time.
with the bar thing, i see so many people on twitter that just don't want to be talked to if they're alone at a bar. like the issue is that people view all of this stuff differently, some people look at bars as a place to hook up so you go their alone, while other people might just like the atmosphere so go there alone to chill out. it's also a thing of men specifically being unable to understand boundaries, and taking no as an answer. so things like tindr are way easier because the mutual interest is evident from the get-go, rather than going out on a limb.

Okay but there's a possibility that you, like me, could be aromantic. The distance is something very synonymous amongst us. Watching this episode has been a trip, moreover reaffirming what makes me aromantic. Understanding how the romantic ppl describe how they feel in certain situations, and how I feel the absence. It's just a suggestion! Think about it. I had to run circles through my life trying to come to this conclusion. Maybe you might, maybe you won't!

Can't say i totally agree with Troy on the idea of romance being dead, but can see where he is coming from. More or less agree with Mariel in that it has evolved, you dont need a grand gesture to provide meaning in something that is person to you and your significant other. As long as it provides meaning to the intended person. I feel like we are just more open to having that meaningful thing be anything and or everything. So instead of a big gesture, we are more open to more frequent smaller and meaningful gestures. Also, about his gold analogy, i know its not one to one but its a lot easier when you can get an outside 100% factual representation about what you are, compared to our real, very shoddy and imperfect subjective representation... its hard to determine your real value. We arent constant like gold. Dont know if this interests anyone but my mini, semi drunk new years rant is over :D (happy new years btw)
