Hi Greg, I for one don't suffer from range anxiety, however I do from charger availability. It's about time they installed two or more of these things at the one location. Keep up the good vids mate, and show it as you find them.
Thanks for the comment. Agree, it would be great if Govt funding was contingent on having AC as backup at each site & potentially a min of 2 DC chargers.
"You get what you pay for". The Tesla Superchargers are certainly reliable, but the per kW cost is there as well. I recently had a similar experience at the Kingaroy QESH chargers. There was a Tesla plugged in to the DC when we arrived and the AC "backup" charger also had issues. Luckily, we only had to wait about 10 minutes until the Tesla owner returned and all went well.
Thanks for watching and the comment. Chaddy are being installed in significantly lower numbers than CCS2. Simple supply and demand and over time they will disappear however it will take years. Cheers
I find the AC public chargers even worse than the DC ones. The instructions (if any) on the box may not include all the steps or be in the wrong order. Local experience is helpful. And try out AC charging with your cable before you need it! Just on case ;-)
Thanks for watching and comment. Yes, it's a difficult one as Chaddy EVs are still being sold, although as you say in very small numbers. Additionally most Govt funding is contingent on also proving at least 1 Chaddy at each site.
As a Leaf driver I am strongly in support of more Chademo chargers. The problem is not too many Chademo chargers it is not enough of any chargers. Mostly Chademo plugs are on a stand that also has a CCS2 plug. And only one can be used at a time. So having a second CCS2 plug won't add any more capability. Leafs are still being sold, both new from dealers and second hand from Japan and the UK. Used Leafs are some of the cheapest EV's available and I would not have been able to afford any of the new EV's. Unfortunately, they don't have huge range. Our need for chargers is growing as well.
Now there is a great idea. Turn the aircon off and slow down just to save charge so you can make it to the charge point. I get in my diesel glance at the fuel gauge and I can travel top speed with the air con ON. Why are these useless cars being taken up?
Thanks for the comment. As with all vehicle purchases you buy one to suit your needs. I push the boundaries travelling longer distances then my car is designed for. 👍

Nice vid! Agree cant beat Tesla Superchargers
Couldn't agree more!
Nice video to help EV newbies. Keep them coming :)
Thanks
It’s great that it’s not free and has AC backup, why don’t more states have AC along side the DC unit, thanks for the video

Greg, I’m concerned that you said Chademo is being phased out. Are you saying the chargers are being phased out and no longer being installed?

I really wish they would stop providing the chademo plugs. They must be less than 5% of of EV but get 50% of the available chargers.

Think I will stick with Tesla chargers. Thanks.

Just for the record which EVs have you driven to compare? It’s good to have a choice and use the vehicle that suits your convenience of course.
Good points.
