The reason I believe they don't advertise it like that is because the union for the light stand can't hold as much weight as a true Bowens mount light stand.
Bro...a few things; first, dope shirt LOL.... So, I've had 2 AD300's since they came out. Yes - I did initially start with the S-2 bracket. Today, I do two things; 1) I have the Flashpoint AD-AB Adapter mounted on my AD300 (it allows for a permanent Bowens mount directly to the AD300 ~ cost $9.00) and 2) I leave the other one stock and use Godox-mounted modifiers (MagMod, SDMV, etc). TBH, I've been using Godox-mounted modifiers more & more because they're smaller (BTW, you should check out the Godox ML-CS1625) while on-location (in the studio I use the ol' S-2 bracket). Lastly, your find it way cool! I saw this a year ago and thought it might work but came across the Godox Bowens adapter instead (check Adorama for $9). I think I might like your solution better.
I mainly shoot on Ad200 and I don't have an AD300 yet. But it's nice to have this simple tool rather than carrying the S2 bracket. All my softboxes are bowens mount. I might buy one just in case the AD300 goes on sale this holiday. I also purchased your presets a few years ago and I love it. :-)
WHOLLLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS BRILLIANT! I'm ording 5 of these! Damn! Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MAN! Thank you so much! I have 2 AD300 and I hate the Godox mount, I can also use this on my Godox ML60 COB LEDs. What's the name of that silicon protector on your AD300?
lol i do love how godox mount makes things smaller though lol but this accessory just takes advantage of the compactness of everything that uses the godox mount.. here is a link to the bumper i have on my 300 www.adorama.com/fplfx300skb.html
According to a Japanese dealer, although the ML-GB can be attached to the AD300Pro, but when the flash is fired, the tube and ML-GB are very close, and there is a risk of burning. Is that true?
I have used mine for the past two weeks with no problems but.. considering they made it for a 100 watt light which gets extremely hot for some reason i dont feel there will be an issue with a strobe popping verses a continuous light being on for hours.
@@RyanTroy Unfortunately 😭 If I move the light around I have tighten it up before it falls off again. Otherwise it's such a dope light, and this is going to be a really nice addition! Thanks for the review.
@@ZPOLLAK I would honestly say try another stand mount. Mine doesn’t do that. It has that rubberized grip on the thread and I just spin that little wheel so tight it doesn’t move. But the new stock stand mount also has an umbrella thread to tighten umbrellas .

I don't mind having to take the S type bracket on a shoot. Not that bulky in my opinion. I would love to see this mount reversed. I have the AD-85S octabox (with the Godox 300/400) mount. Would love to be able to mount that octabox to the S type bracket making it available to use with my AD200pro, the AD100, or even a speedlight.
I was wondering about that but the ad100/ V1/ ad200 roundhead are physically bigger than the godox mount. Ive tried putting them next to each other haha. but maybe the ad200 with the bulb would adapt
@@triggertroyvisuals the ad400 has a godox mount built in already. And it comes with the Bowens mount for you to install on it so the 400 has the ability to use both the godox mount and bowens mount at the same time
@@RyanTroy yes I was asking because I mainly use the the Godox mount for portability. I wanted to know if this works because it’s fast and just snaps on and no other tools are require to install. Thanks!
Agree with the weight concern. TheThere is another option for $28. The Flashpoint Bowens mount adapter & the AD-AB adapter. You would have to purchase both cost = $28 but connects to the actual flash body.
i use a 44inch parasnap with a godox adapter inside the parasnap modifier that connects directly to the mount of the 300. been using it for the past 2 years now. thing is huge and has nice weight to it... and has been working like a charm. So i am not worried about the weight. Especially when you see how much smaller and the lack of build as the portable LED light they are selling this adapter for.
What annoys me is why do they make them black color. They need to make the front face silver or something reflective so, at minimum, 100% there's no power loss. And, maybe you might at least get 1/3 more power.
The reason I believe they don't advertise it like that is because the union for the light stand can't hold as much weight as a true Bowens mount light stand.

This looks like a nice alternative to the BO-AD400Pro Bowens adapter. Which I've heard is supposed to work on the AD300 as well with an adapter.
