    The cascading trees are one of my favorite especially when I go and see them high in the rocky mountains.

    I believe you have 1 of the top 3 bonsai channels of all that I’ve seen. The knowledge, but also the editing. A lot goes into this and it shows in it’s simplicity, and the timing of edits and angles of the shots. Great work I love all of your work I do.

      Thanks.🙏 I approach it with the attitude that a poorly edited or filmed video is just a waste of the viewers time.

    First off your channel is awesome. i have learned more here then I have from my local bonsai expert. Second the pots at the 6:38 mark, what are they and where can i find them?

      Thanks! The square pond baskets I use are from "Finofil" but are from England. Most pond baskets disintegrate in the sun after 1-2 years but these last a long time. However I've largely stopped using them because they are more expensive and harder to get than root bags. A 3- or 5-gallon root bag is my new normal for this larger size growing operation. Here's a link to John's shop that has some of the pond baskets: leftcoastbonsai.com/collections/felt-grow-bags
      And you can find grow bags there or on my site here:

    Great video as alway. One of my favorite utube channel for sure. What type of junipers are these? Thanks

    • @Bonsaify
      @Bonsaify  Рік тому

      Kishu, which is a shimpaku sub-variety. (Juniperus chinensis v. sargentii)

      Also, I saw on one of your videos on cascade bonsai you had some juniper in what look like 1 gallon fabric containers. Do you sell those also?

    • @Bonsaify
      @Bonsaify  Рік тому

      Not yet, we're working on larger juniper stock but it's still growing out.

      @@Bonsaify awesome I’ll keep an eye out for it! Thanks! Also are you guys only an online shop or have a place for the public come and stop?

    • @Bonsaify

      97% online. We are in the SF Bay Area. We also do a few regional vending events each year, but no more this year.

      Sierra junipers are in granite areas above ~6000ft in the Central and Northern Sierra typically. CA junipers are in the transverse ranges in SoCal. RMJ's are all over the northern Rocky's but sporadically. The wild ones shown here are near Meiss meadow just south of South Lake Tahoe.

    Where can I get material like this ? North central florida

    • @Bonsaify
      @Bonsaify  Рік тому

      If you mean the first couple - we ship junipers to Florida. If you mean the later one - not easy to find. But the good news is junipers will grow quite fast in your climate! These are all "kishu" Chinese junipers.

    which species of juniper is it?

  • @dementegg
    @dementegg Рік тому

    Mine is drying out and I'm not sure why

    • @Bonsaify
      @Bonsaify  Рік тому

      Juniper death is often caused by too little water or root rot in heat. But it's difficult to tell sometimes. As long as you keep them outside (in Northern climates providing winter protection) in full sun and regular water and fertilizer you should get good growth.

    Sorry Eric, but I find the monotonous background drumming very distracting. Videos as good and interesting as yours do not need backing tracks like this.
