How did a professional CPA let all this money go unaccounted for without controls in place to tract WHAT was comjng in?????. She got caught being UNAWARE to the firm's detriment. BUT she sure kicked it in when she finally caught it to her credit. Bet THAT never happens again. When it comes to thousands of dollars coming in, don't put "ALL" your trust in ANY ONE" without checking your internal & external controls. I know she must of felt so duped when she realized what had been happening for years. And WHY didn't ALL the clients speak up to other members if the firm????
    NOW WHERE HAS HE
" HID" ALL the money. It sure didn't ALL go for the drugs. That's a cover story. DID THEY EVEN CHECK TO tract the money once it hit his account & when the money was withdrawn?
Never heard anything about tracking THAT money in the account!

Oh, I did hear about tracking the funds from the Palmetta Bank & it went for all of Alex's loans, equipment etc. But I meant his other personal accounts i.e. the fake FORGE account & any other accounts.

I used to work for the government, with the retail tax department here in Ontario, Canada. I think you'll find that a LOT of small-town, family businesses, have very loose controls in their books. This lady brought it to the attention of the partners several times, and they chose to believe Alex, and let it go for the moment. It wasn't until she showed the oldest brother that Alex was money laundering and had stolen that $779k payment check TWICE! Then the oldest brother could no longer look the other way, as Alex was stealing from his own brothers. There's enough dirt in that law firm to go around, but this lady's hands were tied. She couldn't fire Alex or charge him. All she could do was keep showing the proof to whomever was responsible for the partners. Alex's paralegal was afraid she'd be fired just for speaking out about her concerns. This lady is an excellent witness. She makes her testimony understandable to me, and I'm no accountant. I'd be friends with her!

She DID catch him years ago, but the partners chose to believe Alex's excuses and just let it go. The first one she found was about $120K he stole in 2017, and the partners decided to let it go, and LET him continue working there. She did that several times, but it wasn't until he started money laundering, and he stole that money from his oldest brother Randall, by taking the $759K check, TWICE! Then his family could no longer sweep it under the rug, and they finally fired him. She couldn't have fired him. It was up to the partners and his own brothers and family members who worked there, to hold him accountable. She may have worked there for 25 years, but she wasn't family.

Admire her bravery. I do have to say this, how many years without external forensic audits, particularly client trust accounts and external and internal audits over all revenue streams and expenses and disbursements. This is a shocking admission from a CFO/ COO. 😡 This in itself can attract litigation against company or persons responsible.

I would love to be a fly on the wall regarding what Buster and his Uncles talk about at the end of each trial day. Especially today’s testimony . How could all these financial crimes coming to a head not create a motive for murder ? I’d say it had everything to do with this guy murdering his wife and son. These crimes had to be brought in to show his character and mindset leading up to that fateful evening June 7. Murdaughs lawyer Dick H doesn’t believe his client is innocent , his position is the state didn’t prove he did it . ( as terrible as that sounds that’s what defense Atty’s do). I doubt any defense atty AM could hire would believe he was innocent . Today’s testimony although had nothing to do with murder it certainly had everything to do with MOTIVE . AM is GAF.
