- I recorded this more than a year ago I think, I was trying to do a clean and fast run, but as I attempted that, I got this run and what can I say, the first save was so cool I had to eventually post it online.
The best way to handle and compete with a Dodge Charger in Speed Challenge and Top Speed Run is to buy Level 1 suspension and maximize height, otherwise the bottom will keep touching the ground all the road, losing speed constantly.

Only if the game registers your car as touching the ground upside down during the jump ( basically anything other than touching the ground on 1 or not wheels) it'll be a totalled

Speed Challenges are something that were never explored again in a new entry and I'm deeply disappointed by that.
That's why I return to this game from time to time. The sense of speed is unmatched.

This game really made me feel like I was in there, listening to that guy speaking about the race day between races, battling against the other racers (and some of them were really hard to beat, which made things even more interesting and real for me you know, that sense of having a "rival" and trying your best to be better than him), the customization that allowed you to be extremely creative, the speed challenges that like you said, really made you feel dangerously fast (the only game that made me feel scared of pushing the car to it's limits). I could write pages and pages explaining why I love this game so much and still wouldn't be enough.
I miss those times. Games were magic man. Thank you for reminding me how much I loved my experience with this game.

Best NFS game ever to me was this, it transfers the sense of speed, uncertainty and fear the best. Hope they someday make a remake version of this game
Pro Street is also sitting among the best NFS games for me.
If there ever was a "Pro Street 2" or a spiritual successor, I hope it takes it to the next level while keeping the core elements there.
I very much would love to see more Top Speed and Speed Challenge races in longer tracks, or at night or with weather changes.
I hope not, who knows if EA might pulled a GTA Tragedy on Prostreet remake
and I'd rather watch Yumemiru Danshi English dub than I would play any of them butchered to hell & back BB Era NFS demakes that makes GTA Tragedy looked like Spider-Man Remastered by comparison with all of my hesitations thrown away if I we're you guys
A remaster would be hard, since Prostreet are hated for begin the downfall of the franchise and the Underground/Most Wanted fanboys want every game with open world races.
There is something deeply satisfying and hilarious about watching a two-tonne Charger spend as much time in the air at 300+kph as on the ground.

You nailed it! Can i ask witch car setup you were using?
Level 1 soft suspension on all soft/hard parameters, max height available for that level, stiff steering, focus on speed and acceleration rather than turning ability.
Higher suspension levels will make the car touch the ground more, resulting in poor acceleration and bad performance.
You can go for level 3 or 4 hard suspension, but the car will become very unpredictable and difficult to stabilize.
Important to note that hitting the brakes will "lock the wheels" and won't turn at all for a few seconds, so it's best to just stop accelerating before entering a curve like I did in the video.

every car has it, all you have to do is install a tuned gearbox and you will have such a sound and if you want to change gears faster so that there is no momentary break between gear changes, I recommend learning to drive on a manual clutch and a manual gearbox and then the break will depend on how you will change gears quickly

What suspension do u use? As far as I remember stage 2 or more make the Charger to bottom out at 300kmh
For this car in particular, Stage 1.
If you use higher Stages, it makes the car very unpredictable.
Stage 3 and Stage 4 won't make the chasis touch the ground, but the car will wash out while turning and it will jump too high, which is something you don't want.
And keeping straights will be hard, even if you make a stiff setup, as the car will feel too "floaty".
Stage 1 will make the car touch the ground, and sparks will come out from the contact, but at least the car will be easier to drive.

Pretty much the only thing that makes a Dodge Charge able to compete in these races is suspension, which is lvl 1 in this case. The higher the level of suspension, the worse the car gets as it touches the ground all the time, making it hard to drive and loses speed constantly. As for the settings of the suspension, make it softer, reach the highest height possible, stiff handling, choose high speed over acceleration or you'll be left behind and that's it
@@taekan625 Wait, so you're telling me that the drops in speed that the car suffers at various points in the race is due to the suspension level 2 and above?
@@martingo7864 Yes, suspension brings more negatives than positives to cars like the Dodge Charger. It will stick more to the ground, therefore, touching it more whenever there's a slope or the road is too bumpy (the sparks tell you so, and lvl 4 suspensions will make it impossible to go fast).

@@martingo7864 I've tried a few, but the Plymouth HEMI Cuda is too unpredictable and has utter terrible handling. It's kind of similar to the Pontiac GTO.
The old Shelby Mustang behaves similarly to the Dodge Charger, so a similar setup is required, but you'll see that it will be a bit too bouncy when jumping.
I can't say that I tried every option available, so maybe there are a few setups that will make these two cars I took as an example drivable in this type of races.

What’s the tuning?
Level 1 suspension, soft setup on all wheels, max height available, and acceleration and speed over turning ability.
You can go for level 2 suspension and over, but the car will be very sensible to turning, making it very hard to stay on the road.
