  • In 2023, India annouched that her tiger population crossed 3,000 individuals, more than double 12 years ago. At the forefront of this is Central India which has 700 individuals. Popular National Parks such as Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Park have reinforced their strongholds as the leading tiger tourism destination with populations here rapidly increasing. However, due to wonderful habitat connectivity, sanctuaries such as Tadoba, Pench, Tippeshwar and Satpuda are also becoming new strongholds. These wildlife sanctuaries have not only become biodiversity hotspots but also strongholds of wildlife conservation
This video is from the summer of 2019, when the two sub adult cubs of Maya decided to go for a swim to cool of the heat from the late summer morning.
