Even so, he ended up in a state of confusion. Many of the scholars during his time made it clear that he was lacking in terms of hadith authentication and many of them considered him a heretic due to some of his rulings straight up contradicting Islam. Imam Al-Dhahabi actually advised him to focus on studying hadith because he had som maudoo' and dha'eef narrations along with a few good ahadith.
Islam has not changed is a fair statement I think, but muslims have changed, for example they all need internet and tecnology developed by non-muslims, no offence intended.
Internet and Technology should not be alien to Muslims living in the present day .... and New Technologies are not unnatural . Allah created Bees and they produce honey as per their 'wahy' or programming ... and Humans produce technology in fulfilment of the potential programmed into their genetic encoding ?
@@ultrasignificantfootnote3378not just internet and technology but they they trying to change few hadith and meaning because they want to appeal it to the western people which is a huge sin
There is no room for philosophy in Islam. Al Ghazali killed philosphy way back in his work The Incoherence of the Philosophers. A century following a man named Averroes (Ibn Rushd) drafted a lengthy rebuttal of al-Ghazali's Incoherence entitled The Incoherence of the Incoherence; however, the epistemological course of Islamic thought had already been set. It explains why science emerged out of the Judeo-Christian world, leaving Islam in the Dark Ages
M K also totally agree with you. We Muslim where the beginning of medical science astrology and much more. But it’s also sad after it we stood still and still we don’t mean much. Only thing we are worrying about it’s a beard, this haram that haram, kafir this and that. If you do something good it’s for your self. Fear Allah do your salat and fit in these times
Philosophy in the east did not disepear after ghazali, this is just an old idea dating from 19e century that's been reviewed by modern scholars ... What stopped at a certain point was translation from arabic to latin, because europeens started writing their own philosophy, so the first orientalists thought that philosophy had stopped in the muslim world
This man is a blessing to humanity
I liked how the Professor gave the Arabic language the adjective of suppleness. Motivates me to do better at Arabic.
Nice to hear Tim Winter talking on such an interesting topic.
He's doing a very good job of making it accessible .
Imam gazali was really rebuilding the philosophy....

Rob McKay Sad to see but totally true. We Muslim are like now 150 years behind
What are you saying? Do you not know of how the Western world used the works of Muslim scholars to emerge out of the dark ages?
