I’ve been scrapbooking for over 20 years, and this is a great video to take me back to the basics and to simplify what I’m doing. The visual of seeing the pages come together really helps!
I did just find this. And I am so grateful! I agree with your advice. And scrap in the same manner!!! It almost makes me nauseous when I see a 12 by 12 page with a 3x3 photo and a massive amount of embellishments filling the rest of the page. Yes to each their own. But I am like you- pictures please! Thanks. I can’t wait to watch more!
I have struggled for so long with my scrapbooking. I just discovered this video and I was happy to see that I didn't' have to to all the stickers and embellishments. I can use more pictures, etc... I'm so happy that I stumbled on to this video!! Thank You
I've watched 100's of videos as of late trying to find out where to start and how to make all this happen in a short time (graduation) Since all the "I have time to work on that" is now up. While I love all the hard work people put into pages and how beautiful they look, this is by far my favorite video of how to scrap book - it has many pictures which i just love as well as simple designs that look amazing. This is by far what I've been looking for in a video. Thank you.
Really enjoy your style. Pictures and story are the most important,...I so agree. I am impressed how quickly you can complete albums. I enjoy scrapbooking, but I am "behind" because I get stumped on page layout ideas. I would love to see a more detailed video of your process on deciding your color blocks, paper and embellishment choices.
Yvonne! Yay for team #yourphotosarethestar I do want to share some more of my process, and I am working on some other content to support album making so stay tuned! I do have some more process talk in my winterberry review video, in case you want to check that one out!
Sage advice! I think that’s why I stopped scrapbooking years ago is because it felt so overwhelming to try and make it pretty. When really the star of the pages should be the pictures and the story. After watching your video I feel like I could enjoy making another scrapbook! And I really like the Creative Memories albums you have shown in other videos due to their ability to lay flat and ability to add in pages wherever you may need or want. Thanks for another great video!
I so agree that the photos should be the star of the scrapbook. I enjoy watching some of the creators who do a lot of mixed media and make it more of an art project but I am trying to preserve our family's story with the photos.
Love the way you just get down to documenting your story.....I spotted you travel journal on the side there...I also do that when we travel and I would love for you to share, how you document your travel on the go, how you made your travel kit and a little peek inside of it....if it's not too personal. Tfs.....
Love love love your scrapbooking style. I’m the same way when it comes to using more pictures than ”stuff” on your pages. Even though I am totally digital now, your tips still apply. Thank you for your great ideas.
I just started watching your channel a few days ago. This is one of my favorite videos. Great information and reminders for beginners and experienced scrapbookers alike. Well done, you - and thanks.
I love your styles and your tips! I was looking for some great inspiration as a beginning scrapbooker on how to help me make the most out of my son's first-year scrapbook. This helped so much! Thank you and I can't wait to watch more of your videos!
So many unique ideas! I will not remember all the ideas. But, i can return to this video, i can watch it again, you and your YOURTUBE videos have become my scrapbooking security blanket. Thank you. I look forward to watching you. You brighten my mental blocks, when scrapbooking.
Recently just gotten into scrapbooking but had no idea how t start. All the other videos I have watched seemed so overwhelming and I could not understand, until I found this video. It makes it sound so simple and now I can't wait to get started. I love the theme you have going on! Is it available to order from your site??
I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for all the great tips. I have been working on a photo book to gift my sister and i have kept it pretty simple. I'm finding that I enjoy it this way more then getting overwhelmed with all the extra embellishments.
@@CraftSomeJoy I do want to know if on your vacation book if it came with the stickers album paper Etc could you tell me which one it is on the site to order.
www.creativememories.com/shop-all/collections/travel-travel-log.html This will get you to all things Travel Log-and if you need an advisor, I would love for you to use my name😁 Then you can pick and choose the pieces you like 😉 I did end up using 2 packs of the fast to fab refill pages and 2 packs of paper-for everything else 1 pack worked well.
Just watched this video. I like my photos to be the star also. Pictures in my opinion get lost on the page with all the embellishments. Love your Snap to Grid idea. I watched your latest video and you mentioned Snap to Grid. Had to find this video and glad to use more of your fantastic ideas. When I finish watching your latest video I can not wait until you upload another one 😁.
Cheers for this, I have been researching "help with scrapbooking ideas" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Tiyatalie Scrapbooking Blueprint - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my buddy got amazing success with it.
Love all your technique videos Lauren. I was wondering what the sticky label with the colored tabs are that you write on for journaling. They and a little flair and color with journaling and would like to purchase some. TFS!
Hi Lauren, I'm SO happy I stumbled across your UA-cam channel last week!! I've been scrapbooking since 2001 (triggered by the horrific events of 9/11) and quilting since 1987. I was a Creative Memories' Consultant for 10 years under the old Creative Memories company; however, the bankruptcy and events subsequent to it caused me to walk away from my so-called business as I wasn't building it the way I had anticipated and hoped to when I excitedly (to the chagrin of my now deceased husband who poo-pooed what I had done crushing my enthusiasm from the start), and I didn't like the format of the newly formed company of Ahni & Zoe! I tried Stamping Up & then Close to My Heart, but my heart has ALWAYS been with CM albums and tools which are THE best in the industry! Nothing else compares to them full stop!! My time as a CTMH Maker is ending as of March 31st; however, I recently signed up again with CM, and I cannot be more excited!! My only regret is that I didn't find your channel before I did so I could join YOUR awesome team!! All of that being said, I signed up and have completed your Album in a Day class which I absolutely LOVED, and I've purchased and/or downloaded many of them informational templates you have on your amazing website! I have binged watched your POP Series videos and many of your other instructional videos here as well, and I am SO enthused by all that you had and still have to share! Your excitement for scrapbooking is absolutely CONTAGIOUS!!! I only wished you lived closer to me here in Leesburg, VA, as I would love to meet you and soak up your wonderful organizational and scrapbooking ideas and techniques! I guess I will simply have to live vicariously through your UA-cam channel!! Thank you SO much for sharing your passion with all of us in the crafting community!! I will DEFINITELY be taking some of my time (even at almost 61 years of age next month) to CRAFT SOME JOY!!! Love and Virtual Hugs - Your New YT Groupie -- Mary Johnson (aka The Crafty Panda)!!
Hi Lauren! I LOVE the photos on the border of some of your pages that kind of look like a flip book. How do you do that method? Im so curious to know because I love it and I feel it adds some texture to the page.
That is done with one of my very favorite products! Peekaboo pockets- I have a whole video on them 😊 you can order them on my creative memories website ❤️
❤️Thank you, so nice of you to say 😊. Glad you saw some ideas... it really is a different approach to scrapbooking, I think people need to see it can be simple!!!
Hi Lauren, I love your videos! You have such an easy style of speaking to your audience. It makes me feel like you’re speaking directly to me 😁 I’m new to scrapbooking and I’m struggling to start my Italy travel album. I loved your idea of using the colour blocking technique with a specific palette. I don’t have a specific palette yet as I don’t have very many scrapbook papers... in the instance where you don’t have a specific palette, do you try to match the colour of the papers to colours in the photos or just use random papers. Thank you and looking forward to any tips you can give me. I look forward to your next video. Stay safe and happy 😁
Hi Gail, Glad you found my channel! I do like to pull colors from my photos and that could be a great start to the palette! Add in some neutrals and patterns and play with it! 😀
Awsome Tios! You mentioned page protectors, how do you add? Take our pages to cover? And in another comment, you mentioned those are archival books, love the look.
This is a creative memories "strap-hinge" album. There are page protectors that fit over the pages when you are finished with a layout. It is a beautiful, quality album, like no other!!! You can find it all here: www.creativememories.com/user/laurenhinds
Just found your channel and subscribed love this. I have recently uploaded a video of my journals hope you get chance to stop by my channel too. This really motivated me xx
This would be a great video if it wasn't ruined by background music that makes it impossible to listen. I tried and was forced to give up. It is just too much going on too fast and with added music on top of it, impossible to follow.
I’ve been scrapbooking for over 20 years, and this is a great video to take me back to the basics and to simplify what I’m doing. The visual of seeing the pages come together really helps!

This is like scrapbooking for adults. Sophisticated yet so simple.
The most complete and practical video that I see. Congratulations

Truly enjoyed this video. Lots of information but it was short. You kept me interested!
Love all of your ideas. Will definitely try a few of these. Thankyou!
So glad I have finally come across a channel I can relate to. I hate it when there is only one photo on a page. TFS

Awsome Tios! You mentioned page protectors, how do you add? Take our pages to cover? And in another comment, you mentioned those are archival books, love the look.
Hi Ramona, the page protectors just slip over the pages. All our album pages come with a set of protectors... keeps everything nice and protected 😀
Can you please recommend a photo printer?
TINA- I have all the info now available on my print at home video😉
I like your style. I often feel overwhelmed by how heavy some scrapbooks are. I guess there are no rules. Just do what you like best.
