Capacitive Liquid Level Sensor

This video demonstrates Loadstar Sensors' iLevel - liquid level sensing solution. It is based on our Capacitive Sensing Platform that provides a very easy-to-use digital USB/Wireless connectivity to PCs or a Analog 0-5V signal for use with DAQs or PLCs.

Yes. Works with material that can act as ground plane to a capacitor. Generally any wet substance or human body for e.g. your hand can come close to it and it will detect it if you come close to the sensor side.

In general the sensor has about 150 hz data output rate (fully calibrated level values) to a PC via USB port. Voltage output (0.5 v to 4.5V DC) is optionalusing the DQ-1000A interface instead of the DQ-1000U interface (USB). Serial TTL/UART version also available.

Should work for that too! But there could be errors due to stiction to the sensor surface.

What is the sample rate of the output? How accurate is it down to the millisecond/millimeter? What is the voltage output? Thanks.

could this sensor work with other materials, such as sand?

We have a base 150 Hz max data output rate and an upgraded version that can go as high as 500 Hz max data rate.
