True fans of The Black Crowes have definitely had to put up with their share of s**t over the years of following this band. That said, the fabulous music more than makes up for the drama. I feel blessed and privileged to have their music in my life.
Remember this is the band that are the epitome of self sabotage! So many unreleased great songs, and not releasing more ‘commercially viable’ singles, such as Descending. That could have been a game changer for them.
@@howtodocertainthings8452 they are not the kind of band interest in commercial success look at Pearl Jam for example they had a taste of that and later self sabotage themselves Getting too into commercial stuff can get ugly afterwards I have so much love and respect for The Black Crowes for leading their own path and doing what they feel comfortable/real for them as musicians their music is one the best in rock for me
aya_8 whilst agree with you to a point, but a band that wasn’t interested in commercial success? Then please explain why they appeared on MTV shows, talk shows, radio shows to promote their albums/singles? They didn’t promote themselves like lots of bands did, but they still played the game to an extent. Gorman even said the other day that the whole band wanted success.
I saw them play this at Hammerjacks in Baltimore in 1990. Chris introduced it saying "Now I want to play you a love song. It's called Miserable." My favorite memory of that show!
Man...same thing. I saw them at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa on the same tour. I was blown away by this song. When Southern Harmony was released, I was floored. "Where the hell is 'Miserable'????"
My favorite compared to the box set version, vocals sound more raw in this version. The other version isn't bad, just sounds a little too processed for my liking. Just my opinion.
These dudes were the first concert I ever went to in Macon GA. in 1991 during their Shake Your Moneymaker tour. I was 13. A cloud of pot smoke hovered over the crowd. I Pushed my way all the way down to the front and stayed pinned against the rail all night long. They played all of Shake Your Moneymaker and were previewing songs off of Southern Harmony. Awesome live show. This song takes me back to that night.
TBC left many great songs in the studio. The Lost Crowes album and “the Band” album are great albums that were initially scrapped, but thank heavens we’re finally released. I’m sure they have enough great songs to make another album. A black crowes side project called Sweet Pickle Salad is also a outstanding album.
Saw them live in Tampa in August 2021, with Dirty Honey as the opening band. Such a fantastic concert, and day. I have LOVED this band since I was a preteen. I especially love the Mr. Crowe’s Garden, Money Maker, Southern Harmony, and Tall eras of the band. Long live the Black Crowes!
holy fucking fuck. I am so jealous right now. I've never been able to understand why this song was basically ignored by the band. I've got a live version that I love from that Moneymaker club tour. Wow man that's awesome. I saw Magpie in NJ in August. I would have cut off my pinkie toe for them to have played this. (they did play Title Song which was cool)

I guess I'm being a little naive but The Black Crowes have made some of the greatest music I have ever heard I know music is a business and I hope all these guys are worth millions In my soul they have earned it
Can’t wait to get to the part of Steve’s audiobook where he talks about why Johnny left the band or was kicked out. I’m not a super hardcore fan, so a lot is new to me.

Amen...
They sure haven’t made it easy on us have they?
Feeling the same way brotha, especially during COVID.
Inherent part of my soul...
This song is a complete masterpiece. It boggles the mind that it was never put on an album.

Generally, their best work was the least commercially successful. "Amorica" bombed and it was great album.
Phil mole ..... great call on Amorica. Not only the Crowes best album, but one of the best albums in the history of rock
That voice..love it. Really miss the Crowes.
Rock and Roll with Soul blended with some smooth southern whiskey and that is what the Black Crowes were back then. Miss them.
This so shoulda been on a BC album. Come back to us guys.... R&R never forgets!!!
Why not release this one??? Damn! That voice😍😍& killer lyrics!! That’s a hell of a tune!! ♥️
TBC could put out an entire double album of unreleased songs. They should!
They did!
fckin a
They could put out 20 albums of unreleased tracks - it seems that every album had more unreleased tracks than what was released at the time
Mm.pa
o0
they did! or do you mean another one? Cuz they could. 93 Kingsway stuff is some of the best
Fuck this song is great!!
Freaking amazing! Thanks for sharing
Jeff Cease on the pencil thin leads
haha
Sounds like Rich on both guitars.
Amorican Dream lol
This might’ve come from the same session as the “words u throw a way”. Kinda bridge of symm and shmc. But I dunno.
Colts a real Lemmy FAN.....
Jeff Cease
dat bass tho

This is the crowes growing as a band.
Man...same thing. I saw them at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa on the same tour. I was blown away by this song. When Southern Harmony was released, I was floored. "Where the hell is 'Miserable'????"
If i were there...i will ve got a nice memoried as you.
It's songs like this that made the Crowes one of the best bands of the last 30 years. Simply stunning.
I can hear a lot of Sometimes salvation there.. classic Southern harmony sound. Love that album..

This is sister luck With a slightly different chord progression
Absolutely . With some of the same lyrical phrasing. Anybody that doesn't hear it---isn't listening .
You both are right. Especially the bridge is telling. Nice tune anyhow.
You’re obviously not a musician
Speechless. Seeing things for the first time in 2019!
I..I ...need to lay down ...the sound ...the grove...the bass ...Chris and his voice....I miss this !!!!!
Imagine Ford on this one? They should have waited 6 months later to record it.
Oh but why oh why has this has been hidden away...

“The Tall Sessions” is also some groovy music🖤🎶✌🏽☮️

top five in American bred Rock and Roll Bands. #1 in songwriting brilliance.
Always loved this song and so glad to hear The Magpie Salute is playing it live!!
Awesome song! Can't believe it wasn't on an album...never too late for a reunion tour.
Magpie Salute just played on Sunday night in Huntington. Rich mentioned no one on stage had played it since 1991
Diod FOrd rip into any leads on it?
Andrew Martin sure did. I think there is video somewhere

Last night they played it again at Irving Plaza. I hope you dont need to cut off your toe
And it was amazing.
Those vocals!!! 🔥🔥🔥The guitar is smoking too though!!
What. A. Gem.
Joe FitzGerald 💎💎💎💎💎😍
Talent at an all time high. Definitely in the top 5 bands of all time.
Sounds like an early, working version of what might eventually have become “Sister Luck” off the first album.
Nope. Sister Luck was recorded in 1989 and released in 1990. This song was written and recorded in 1991.

Well said Shauna the brothers are one of the best song writers in rock n roll history
It is ok..
I like it because of chris' vocals.
But the lyrics aunt sticking to the wall. I loves me chris singing.
Amazing how it sounds just like the rest of the album. Should have dropped blue eyes and put this in it's place.
This is why they are my favorite band
That's a hit today. Solid. Shame it was never released. Hmm.
One of the crowes' finest and never to have appeared on an album.
Been with them since the late 80's "Mr.Crowes Garden"❤❤
Can’t wait to get to the part of Steve’s audiobook where he talks about why Johnny left the band or was kicked out. I’m not a super hardcore fan, so a lot is new to me.
Sometimes Salvation is in here...and a few other things.
Crowes still kick ass
This song is life
Dude would call it "tall". It turned out to be a great song.
🤘⚡️🤘⚡️🤘⚡️
A hidden Gem!
YES ......MISS THE CROWES !!!
Very Allman Brothers influenced. Awesome song. Shame if was never put on an album.
it' is the opposite mate
Sorry, but I think it's a reach if one hears the Allman's in this.
I agree rowdy. I first heard the Stones and then was like wait..there is something else. I thought Allman bros..glad we agree.
Let your Soul Shine..just heard it...lol
Love this song!
Great song!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Looking forward to hearing this on the SHAMC box set.
This song is 🔥 even if it seems like CR is ad libbing at times and it's basically a demo
Amazing
Thanks so much for posting all of this great rare Black Crowes music!!
Super cool the Black Crowes rock hard😎
So much of the first two albums in this, absolutely beautiful
Sho nuff Chris needs to put this on the next album no joke tune
the allman brothers had the same idea in mind when they made soulshine huh
Stephen Ray This was recorded 3 years before that
Jared Walters my point exactly
Wow, amazing song!!! amazing crowes!
When Jeff was still in the band
Смачно
Love love love this💕

Nice!
Ahh the good old days when C-Rob was into rock n roll as opposed to his current state of being obsessed with The Grateful Dead.
Gritty raw bliss.... These guys are a dream come true. I miss em, but it's cool. Rich & Marc r killing it n The Magpie Salute.
Magpie would be great with Chris.
Not it wouldn't. You're missing the boat on if you think that. Best band going right now.
Wouldn't it then be The Black Crowes?
winner winner chicken dinner lmao!!!!
