One of the things we have learned is when we want to see a town or an area is to talk to the visitor center for the town or area. Great recommendations on what to do and where to eat.

We stayed in that exact site at Mama Gerties in August 2019. Really enjoyed the location and Asheville. We found it more interesting navigating our departure from the upper tier campsite than when arriving. They've really done a great job in accommodating larger rigs both ways.

We are headed your way. The Blue ridge mountains are a definite favorite of ours. Today is my pack up day. We were in Hershey for the Amish food and the RV show. Leaving tomorrow for Lynchburg for a couple of days. Want to visit Appomattox court house before heading to Florence SC. I need some eye surgery. We have reservations for October in Seneca SC. Great riding in this area. So much to see. Travel safe. Robert Woods.

This is a great trolley ride in Asheville, NC! You can see some of the wonderful places and things to see in your travels! After over 20 years of going to the Biltmore Estate, we always made time to stop at the Huddle House on US26 (Hendersonville Road) outside the entrance to the Biltmore! Great omlet, and real North Carolina people will serve you!

We have stayed at Mama Gerties several times. Our favorite sites are on the upper tier in front of the new community deck. We saw a Mama Bear and her Cubs in front of the community deck during our last visit. Black Mountain is a must visit. Discovered several delicious places to eat there on the side streets. The narrow road off the interstate was more scary than the road in the campground to us. Thanks for bringing back the memories!

Tara, there are basically no such things as "weeds", just plants native to the local environment versus those NOT native to the local environment, i.e. those planted by humans. A "weed" is a term usually used to describe any plant that is growing where it is not wanted. Helps to remember (maybe) that "weeds" were growing in their native environments for millions of years before humans moved in and started planting non-native species for reasons of landscaping aesthetics. Please don't get me wrong, I yank "weeds" out of my planted gardens on a regular basis.
Great Video, hope to someday check out that RV park!

Hey Chad, I finally got to visit Maggie Valley to go through the Wheels through Time motorcycle museum. Oh man, such a cool place. They actually start their 100yr old motorcycles, some of them 4 cylinders, leaking oil on the floor on purpose. It's so awesome smelling the fumes indoors from such archaic carburetor technology. It's like going to the drags and smelling the nitro during burnouts at the starting line. 💪🚘

I really like the idea of a hop-on, hop-off sight seeing tour. Sometimes I want to stay a while and sometimes I couldn't care less so the hopping on and off really fits well with my style, and 2 days sounds pretty cool. So Chad, exactly how comfortable is that couch after your comment about the boss. As far as the lawn goes maybe one of your neighbors raises goats or sheep and needs a place to graze them. Just a thought, but be aware of the stuff they will leave behind. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

When you turn off the highway Mama Grrties os located off of Patton Road which is a loop/horse shoe road. If tour tow vehicles does better on gradual inclines then you can go up the western portion of Patton road, but once you are in the camp ground all bets are off and it's time to put in low and hill climb.
Also other area attractions worth mentioning at Chimney Rock (where the water fall from Last of the Mohicans is located), Burnt Shirt Vinards (for the wine drinkers) and you can send a post card from the post office in Bat Cave NC (because, why not).
