There are a few things I haven't brought myself to tear into yet.. Yeah that red stuff is "supposed" to be "permanent".... this thing is going to cost over $1k in parts to fix so I have been looking for a replacement. Thanks Kent!
We had the same problem with the same rake, the crownwheel gear was destroyed, put another one in it and replaced the pinion gear and it destroyed itself again. Turns out it was too much slop or play in the main shaft that holds the rake together and it was causing too much of a gap between the pinion gear and ring gear. We welded the shaft a bit to build it up and turned it to size on the lathe. So now when we installed it it was a tight fit for the shaft to go into the cast housing where the pinion is. So far so good. Definitely looking at buying a new krone rake.
I think you put in a better switch in the 806 . Two weeks ago I put a new switch in the 656 . 28 bucks and about a 1/3 quality of the old ih . Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the next episode.
I ended up not fixing it yet and bought a sitrex 9 wheel one way pull type rake. The parts were going to be over $1000 in parts so I held off because I just put a bevel gear in it a few years ago and its shot again.
Work has been busy, there are videos to be edited but no time to edit now.
That's one thing I admire about you...you ain't scared to tear into anything!
I get scared...when even RED Locktite isn't holding😁

That makes sense and I wondered about clearances.
I ended up getting a 9 wheel rake
@@AndyFromm And the shims under the gear also helped

I don't remember how much the switch was but its the same one that is on the m. We'll see how long it lasts. Thanks Tim
I'm doing a job on a kuhn GA 3200 GT it took a lot of heat and banging to get things apart.
@@JacobAHull-nx6rx yes, mine did the first time too!
I'm working on same hay rake now but I can not get the top cover off on top of crown gear
@@darreng2639 lot of heat and beat is what mine took, I was afraid of breaking it
@AndyFromm working on that now with a mall and torches
@@darreng2639 good luck, hope you get it
Hi. How did it go? have you put it together yet?
have the same trouble but all parts are new??

Is there a parts 2?
@@JacobAHull-nx6rx sorry no, parts got too expensive for me to justify it. I still have it sitting here but I bought a 9 wheel sitrex one way rake
Know the feeling I am always rebuilding equipment.
Good times 😄 not sure if I'm gonna fix this or not. It needs about $1k in parts.
