      The rider did very well. The HD ? Well; lived up to its "Hardly Ableson" name. Fell apart like they all do.
      Its why they sell leather tool pouches at the Hardly Ableson shop/web site. These bikes rattle themselves apart.

      I own an MZ 250 artsy fartsy rat with measly 22 hp. I.m old, I ride upright and usually have carriers on. I can still hang on to "anybody" on the small winding roads, because I'm not heavy, always have good tyres and breaks and have the advantage, that if they didn't go down, there won't be any sand in the turns, something you do have to think about in outback Denmark. The fun part is, when they pass me, and don't look much in the mirrors, and then all of a suddon notice, that I'm still hanging on, and I can see their heads start turn to check the mirrors like crazy. And as soon as there is a long straight road ahead, they just dissapeare a lot faster, than they were going, before they saw me.. :D

      @@CONEHEADDK I am in England and a couple of years ago I was out on a Sunday going to a bike meeting place - Rikers cafe at Box Hill in Surrey - when as I was going around the M25 (motorway or freeway as the yanks call it) I saw a couple of bikes riding in a slower moving lane of traffic. I went pass them in a faster lane and that must've upset them being over taken by a Harley with ape hangers that looks typical but has a lot of work - 130bhp and torque and suspension etc etc. So they came pass me and I just hooked on behind them , they were on a Suzuki and some kind of Yamaha.
      They must have thought they were really pushing it, because later at the cafe, I went back to my bike with a burger and the guy with the GSXR1000 asked me who I was - he said they were going as fast as they could on the non-motorway roads and couldn't lose me.... I just replied that it is no good having a fast bike if you don't know how to ride it ! They just walked away when I showed them the ground away parts of my footppegs....
      When I got home, I remebered that the speedo recalibration box ( from yellr.com) I use has a 'fastest speed' feature that I had recently reset.... so I checked it and saw that the fastest speed I had done was 93 MPH an' I'm pretty sure that was on the motorway when riding home !

    All the HD haters here likely never heard of Lucifers Hammer. The iron XR1000 based road racer that Gene Church rode and beat Marco Lucchinelli's factory Cagiva/Ducati TT750 (803cc) with at Daytona. The XR had a displacement advantage as it was of course pushrod while the Duc was OHC desmo. The vid is on youtube. I was there. Awesome race. My ride? Guzzi.

    I’ve always told people you can flatten out the twisters with Iron, but as you see, they do tend to suffer from lubricant incontinence, due to 45° & 60° v -twins trademark vibrato! Racer was obviously riding well within his skill level, the bike’s effective operating range and the road course’s design limits, it just shot off a bit prematurely ! What bike was that? A sportster?

I was third while running down the hill into turn eight @12K 5th gear and the number four rod leaves thru a hole in the front of the engine. Oil everywhere and I'm not sure how I kept my 1981 Honda 750F on the track, but ..fortunately for me, Team Honda switched to the VF750F Interceptor in 1983 and my sponsor found a retired inline 755 HRC works engine in SoCal, and the world as I knew it changed in an instant...

    Zack rode the Harley like a boss? Just think how much faster he will on a proper bike instead of a heap of iron. There is a reason why Harley's are not in the Super bike circuit.

      +HkRedPill How many cylinders does a “Super bike” have genius?

    • @MechRider89
      @MechRider89 6 років тому +1

      whiteribbonman1 the amount cylinders are irrelavent, engine design is what makes the power. Harleys have large cylinders but just dont make much power, the power per displacement is very low. Maybe its intentional who can say, but if they want younger people to get more into harleys they need to start drastically changing stuff, getting the next generations interested is what will keep theyre doors open.
      But as it sits now harleys will never been seen on a race track competitively. Most top of the line sport bikes are playing near the 300hp range full race bikes are even more.

    • @sergsrt8
      @sergsrt8 6 років тому

      whiteribbonman1 600cc super sports will out run 1300cc Harleys any day of the week how many cylinders or even engine size is irrelevant

    • @Alex-ei6qr
      @Alex-ei6qr 6 років тому +1

      NO, only MotoGP bikes get to the 300hp mark and those are prototype race bikes, sport bikes like R1, Panigale, zx10-r (excluding the supercharged Kawasaki H2) don't get anywhere near that, even in sbk guise. Air cooled Harley is about effortless torque, all day comfortable cruising, classic looks and feel loaded with luggage/passanger etc - they don't need to make anywhere near that power (and therefore loose their low rpm torque characteristics), self adjusting valves simplicity - they'd be less appealing if they did change the design to a sportbike engine. I ride everything and appreciate them all - trials, supermoto, trikes, quads, sportbikes, enduro etc and cruisers this year for the 1st time.

      Texas Kalboy Neither Harley nor Indian invented the motorcycle. And apart from the HD peashooter singles at the Isle of Man in the 20s (I think) they didn't do that well against British or European racers. The Germans and British really created the first recognisable production motorcycles and Norton, Triumph and Royal Enfield were all making motorcycles before HD.

  • @themaxrider
    @themaxrider 7 років тому +18

    What do you think if you're going to ride a harley hard? It's not going to stay together! Hell most don't just riding normal!
    To see someone take this sort of bike to a track, should be kicked out for life! The oil spill will cause grief and clean up that isn't necessary! When I used to manage a track, NEVER did we let harleys on it! It's not worth the risk and this is the sort of shit that happens, along with most wrecking and hurting themselves. I will say this, harleys are meant as garage ornaments and that's it!

      @themaxrider 7 років тому +5

      All right I'll take the "troll bait"
      If harleys went a hundred thousand miles EVER we'd have nothing to fucking do! BUT they need a "top end" every 30K, and everything in between! NON STOP GREIF!
      I know many that make livings off the damn things. Not because how good they are but how bad. SO FUCK YOU! WIN? Win what? Hell the last year they made a Buell, with the use of a ROTAX engine, they were able to keep up with the 750 imports. WOW how awesome huh!

    • @cdyoude
      @cdyoude 7 років тому +3

      themaxrider Troll Bait??? The only Harley that has ever needed a top end every thirty thousand in the ol iron head sportster motor. I've put eighty thousand on a shovel head before it needed anything. My current dyna has 132,322 and climbing with nothing more than maintenance.
