- LEAD OTHERS TO GOD The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (January 14, 2024)
We are in the Second Sunday of Ordinary Time; and in today’s Gospel, we would hear Jesus asking Andrew and his companion: “What are you looking for?”
Andrew and his companion were disciples of John the Baptist who, upon
seeing Jesus, proclaimed: “Behold, the Lamb of God.” It was the signal that prompted Andrew and his companion to Follow Jesus. Andrew, in particular, even brought his brother Simon so that he too might see what they have
found: the Messiah. Later Simon would be given a new name, Peter.
Friends, Jesus’s question is so apt now that we have returned to the Ordinary
Time. “What are you looking for?” Peace? Justice? A Job? Opportunities for growth? Recognition? Fulfillment? Are we looking for brothers and sisters so that they can meet Jesus? May we be attentive to the signs that point us to the Messiah. Maywe also be signs that point other people to Jesus

Dear Father in heaven, give us childlike hearts so that we may understand everything in the right way. Grant us work that bears fruit in spite of our faults and weaknesses, because we want to work with the understanding given by love. Father in heaven, you know that we are faced day and night with many difficulties and setbacks. But you see us, and you will help us so that your name may be honored, your kingdom may come, and your will may be done on earth as in heaven. Amen.

This is spiritually touching reflection Cardinal Tagle. Listening to it Friday [local time] and again this morning Sunday 14 before leaving for Mass here in Samoa at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral 9.30am English Mass. It is a call to each and every Catholic to reflect upon as we do this week's daily errands.... "Can I hear the calling and am I letting others [one or two] know who the CALLER IS and try harder to bring him or her to the CALLER "Jesus the Lamb of God"? Thank you your Eminence and God bless..

I believe It is Imperative for the church's relevancy, In these growing wave of Social Darwinism (Alluring potency of all the illusions and meaningless misery), is for His Eminence Cardinal Tagle to personally evangelize and support new aspiring priest who wants to learn Theology from him. Although I am quite impressed with the Analogy and diction that it is the role of each of one of us to 'lead others to God', which brings and make sense to that worship song 'No one (in turn) lives for the sake of oneself, No one (in turn) dies for the sake of oneself, All of us are deemed answerable with each other'. Thank you His Eminence, Cardinal Tagle for this week's homily; We pray for the Holy Father, Pope Francis, to continually be blessed with good health, good discernment, and good public speaking in this trying of times.
